  2. Yep, might finally end up with an HDTV. I'm holding out with my dinosaur!
  3. Got a couple of emails on this now. They (of course) make it sound like you get the full BF deals between 12pm-12am on Monday, but we'll see what's really available.
  4. I've been waiting for the Archos 101 for a while and it looks like it'll be out really soon. My Droid Incredible can almost entirely replace my laptop on an average day of work, but the screen size is very limiting.
  5. I believe that's exactly how the new systems will be bundled, anyway. I haven't looked into it too much, but take a look around and I think that's what you'll find.
  6. Yeah, I've been watching for the "real" guitar controls for Rock Band for a while and there's rumor that you'll be able to use any 6-string electric at some point, which is what I'm really waiting for. No way we need yet another guitar in the house! I'm actually trying to decide between a Wii or adding the Kinect to our Xbox 360. I'm slightly leaning in the Wii direction, because our son is 5 years old and because (if I understand correctly) you don't have to pay for Wii's online services. With the 360, I've got to buy Xbox Live gold every year to be able to run Netflix on it.
  7. Thanks, it might be worth a stop!
  8. After this past weekend, I'm hoping for a decent GPS...not a doorbuster off-brand, but Garmin or TomTom. My maps are a bit outdated and purchasing new maps seems like a waste, considering how close it is to buying a new one.
  9. Pumpkin Spice Latte: * 2 cups Milk (your Choice - Skim, 1%, 2%, Whole, Soy, Etc.) * 2 Tablespoons Canned Pumpkin Puree * 1 Tablespoon Sugar Or Sugar Subtitute * 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract * ½ teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice * ¼ cups Espresso (1-2 Shots) OR 2/3 Cup Very Strong Coffee Preparation Instructions In a saucepan, combine milk, pumpkin and sugar and cook on medium heat, stirring, until steaming. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and spice, transfer to a blender and process for 15 seconds until foamy. If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry about it. Just whisk the mixture really well with a wire whisk. Pour into a large mug or two mugs. Add the espresso on top. Optional: Top with whipped cream and sprinkle pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, or cinnamon on top.

    Black Friday T-Shirts?

Got mine yesterday with a couple of goodies included! Thanks Brad!
  11. #1: Target redefines "rolling out the red carpet". #2: Shopping? We thought this was deer camp! #3: On second thought, maybe wearing stilts in a Black Friday crowd wasn't such a good idea.
  12. Right, I know you can get audiobooks for either player, but I was thinking that with all my driving to and from work, it would be nice to have something that would read text. I've read a lot of books from Project Gutenberg, which is putting public domain books into ebook format and I wondered if the voices on the Kindle where listenable or if it's a "who cares" type of feature.
  13. Has anyone use the text-to-speech feature on the Kindle? I was surprised to see that that Kindle had this, but the Nook does not. Although, if it's not a good experience on the Kindle, I won't even think twice about it. :)
  14. Here's is another good resource from Amazon about how to obtain free books for your Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=2245146011
  15. The replaceable battery is a huge consideration for me. It's probably one of my biggest hangup on not having gotten a Kindle already. Also, what's the deal with the extended warranties? Are these things so fragile or failure-prone that they are going to have trouble in year 2?
  16. My wife thinks it's crazy, and I couldn't find a deal good enough for her to go out that morning! She used to work retail, so is a bit jaded from the "other side" of Black Friday.
  17. That first video is a retailers dream! People just flooding in the doors at a steady stream, and most of them looked like they where enjoying the crowd.
  18. I agree with you on this one, if that matters at all. :) We're hoping for a ~36-40" TV to finally replace the 25" CRT TV in the living room. For a techie, my TV is way behind the times! Other than that, maybe an Android tablet or netbook, Kindle or Nook for homeschooling, and an outside chance we're looking for new mattresses for our bed and our son's.
  19. Thanks for the shirt giveaway! I'll wear it proudly outside of my warm layers.
  20. Mine: ready with the lists thermos of coffee is hot gadgets in my dreams indubitably fighting for a doorbuster breakfast will be warm Wife said: this year's black friday I will stay at home all day it will be pure bliss
  21. Sam's is where we ended up getting ours as well. Much cheaper than any furniture store was, and it comfortable enough that I'd be willing to sleep on it.
  22. As someone who orders from them all the time, I'd say that's not a typical Amazon order process. However, I did see that rebate change, too, and decided to hold off because of it. You could try to sell the Mounted Memories coupon / rebate / whatever it ends up being. They are a pretty big player in sports memorabilia.
  23. Yep, the iPod Touch is an incredible player. I use it more than my cell phone...should have just gotten an iPhone. If he wants it for video, the cool thing is that he can watch YouTube videos wherever he has a wireless connection. You can get them direct from Apple from their refurb section for $199 (8GB) / $299 (16GB). My typical daily usage includes: Email - have 2 gmail and one corporate email set up Music / Podcasts - Usually listen to a podcast on the way to/from work Internet - Has full internet browser, which comes in handy to avoid cell phone "data" fees Apps - Whatever type of game / productivity tool you want, the app store likely has it. Many apps are free. For those of you asking about Creative players for video, I highly recommend those as well. I've owned Creative players back 8 years, now, and used them until I got the Touch in February. The Zen Vision: M handled video great and the software was pretty user-friendly as well. The new Creative Zen X-Fi looks like a great alternative to the iPod Touch. You can pick a 16GB version up for <$200. Newegg has good prices on all 3 versions (8gb, 16gb, and 32gb). My wife has the Creative ZenV Plus, which plays video, but it's tiny on the 1.5" screen. Her usage is mostly for music while walking or plugging it into the car, so it was kind of an unneeded feature for her.
