  1. They may look through their stockings, make the 'rents coffee (served in bed of course) and wait for us to get up. Of course, my youngest is 17 now.
  2. We have cornish hens as it is just our own family on Christmas.
  3. We've only been stung once and learned not to buy from someone with tons of good feedback. We buy from ebay probably at least once a week. Great way to get cheap ink for printers, electronics, cds, videos, etc.
  4. I buy gifts year round whenever I find a great deal. I have been known to purchase things on BF and hold them for B'days later
  5. We have run into some great people on BF. Usually they are very jolly and have some great "war stories" themselves!
  6. Always show DH what I bought (unless of course, I over did the weekly budget by a smidge)
  7. Front Sitting Room. We have an old Victorian home with a huge front window. The tree MUST go there every year!
  8. Peanut Butter Kiss cookies - almost every time and they are a huge hit!
  9. The quality isn't the best but they are great for those teens on your list who have way too many clothes and not enough days to wear them all!
  10. An Ipod Shuffle so I could listen to music all to myself without sharing with DD, DS and DH!
  11. Always my SIL - we've been partners in shopping for a loooonnnnggggg time
  12. A few years ago, one of our local Wal-marts emptied the store, locked the doors and then let people in again. CRAZY!!!!
  13. Anyone else? Or has this been covered before and I missed it?
  14. We have an Ipod Nano and a RCA Lira. The Lira cost much less and holds less music but DH really likes his and is pleased. There are many options out there. I personally love my Nano but I've never used DH's Lira either.
  15. Don't tell me that Kmart still pulls that trick???? That's one of the big reasons that I quit shopping there years ago.
  16. Target had cheap care bears last year that were still there around 11 a.m.
  17. First, I print the previews off the BF sites and get a general idea of who has the best ads. I get up on T-Day and drive to the store and buy 2 copies of both of the large city papers (We live 30 mins between both). I bring them home and HIDE THE INSERTS!!!!!! The rest of the paper is free to peruse by those members who aren't busy cooking. While the turkey cooks and after the potatoes are peeled, me and SILS sit down at the kitchen table for the preliminary review. All children are shooshed away!!! A big rule at our house. Papers are stashed until after dinner. While we enjoy dessert, the papers come out again with pads of paper, highlighters and red and green jello shots. BILs always come in with their pens and pen in which items "may" be on their wish lists. (Sometimes Santa is good to them, sometimes not) A strategy and decisions are made on which stores have the BEST BF sales and which store and who will stand outside at what time. It works this way every year.
  18. I MUST STOP READING THESE POSTS!!!! I want to be out on BF ! But wait, I'm going to Disney World, so what the heck!
  19. We usually have 30+ people for Thanksgiving and always have overnight guests. We stay up way too late visiting and reviewing sale ads and strategizing and then get up around 4:30 a.m. and have to step over people, get dressed in the dark not to wake anyone, take the dog out and feed her quietly and sneak out so none of the little kids wake up too early. It's part of the fun of BF if you can do it without disturbing anyone and they don't have a clue when you left!
  20. I worked at JoAnn's for Black Friday one year. Yes it's a nightmare but 90% of the people were decent and pleasant. I'm sorry you have such a bad attitude for retail. Perhaps that's why you're not finding work elsewhere.
