All the stores went to Christmas musak this morning!!!! AAACCCKKK!!!! I love Christmas music but November 1st is too early. Give it a week or so please! DH works retail and within the week, he'll forbid the playing of any Christmas music while he's in the house from ODing on the stuff all day long

We usually adopt a shelter family (or last year, we adopted 2 families) at work. We've been talking about the high price of gasoline and heating would cut into that this year but fortunately, the gasoline prices seem to be retreating faster than expected. We will probably do at least one family again this year. I buy year round with household and personal care items with coupons and always include a large paper box full of stuff along with the gifts as these cannot be bought with food stamp/bridge cards.

Big Lots seems to be having some good items for the younger ones this year (at least according to their TV ads) Check them out if you have one nearby.

I know Kohls has the early birds. I did a pretty good job one year on the 50% off toys (I believe it was Fisher Price toys). I had been to the stores and the FP stuff was long gone and was able to snag it online.

Big Lots have been doing some heavy advertising already this year. Hmmmm. Wonder what great sales they will have this year?

I'm going on a band trip with my son and will be at Disney or on a charter bus on BF!!! I can't believe I'm going to miss it. I'm giving SIL a check and telling her to buy the best deals of the day. So far, I'm kind of liking the 2 qt crockpot at Wally World but I'm still waiting for some other previews. Anyone else going to miss the big day?
