  1. I loaded up today and wasn't expecting anything! I went to my favorite store that I hadn't been to for a while. (Osage beach, mo) Most departments were on clearance, most was 70, 80, and 90%. Ive never seen anything like it. I'm going to round prices, as my iPad is a pain to type on. Sorry the list is so crude, I was in a hurry and in red sticker sensory overload! The bar set and kitchen aid cookware was regular price.
  2. We bought a house two weeks before, so that was our big gift. I have been on a search for the perfect drinking glasses- the hubs found them. From my parents, I got a bluray player, a Vera Bradley, and new flooring for the house.
  3. All you needed to do was skim throughout them, or sort by 50% off on the left. Of course they aren't all included. For the sake of ease, here is the link that sorted them for you. http://www.amazon.com/mn/search?_encoding=UTF8&keywords=Fisher-Price%20Imaginext&tag=gatetosavi-20&ie=UTF8&linkCode=ur2&bbn=165793011&qid=1324338840&rnid=598397011&camp=1789&creative=390957&rh=n%3A165793011%2Ck%3AFisher-Price%20Imaginext%2Cp_8%3A2229063011
  4. LOL- maybe they just need a big 'Look Here Idiot' sign for people like me!
  5. They were a huge help! I really appreciated how well designed the printable charts were- super easy to read! One thing I would like to see (and it may be a total PITA) is a way to sort by column header. Then you could select the wifi only Blu-rays or only DSLR cameras, etc.
  6. Ours, too- they didn't come on until 6:00- after all of the 'preparations' they advertised.
  7. Same way here- and they were doing the teenage tormenting thing to adults. Absolutely ridiculous. There were tons of kids out, and I think it's pretty sad that the parents would do that. Sure, I've had my kids out late before, but it was typically for a legitimate reason. I'm of the mindset that if you wouldn't take your kid to a mosh pit, leave them home. Many of the people I saw wouldn't drive across the 'bad side of town' with a child, so how is this better? If I don't have a sitter, I'll stay home. No point in putting your child in the middle of a riot for $1 towels. The one that made me so mad was the lady with her baby in a sling carrier (one of those that looks like a curtain tied around your shoulder). The baby wasn't a month old and she was fighting for sheets at Walmart. Our bars close at 1:00 a.m. and Thanksgiving is a huge business day for bars- so let's throw drunks, screaming babies, idiot teenagers and exhausted moms (from cooking all day, cleaning all afternoon, and shopping all night) out into the busiest traffic day of the year. I was terrified at the size of the gun line at the sporting goods shop!
  8. Mine wants a cell phone and a laptop (she's 7). She said if she can't have that, she wants all Polly Pockets and DS games.
  9. Were you not with her? Our stores had security booting anyone unattended that was under 18 out of the lines until their parents arrived to stand with them.
  10. They were on sale at select Target stores that sold out of the advertised Kindle. They reduced the price by the same percentage (28%). It's been all over the net- I'm seriously trying to talk myself in driving to town after some :)
  11. Not that this excuses anything, but do you notice how many of these stories involve children? It's not a place for children.
  12. Just saw on our local news that they shut down the Bentonville, AR Walmart today due to a bomb threat (link isn't up yet- we're slow around here). Bentonville is the Walmart headquarters
  13. I've had problems all week- couldn't see the lightning deals from several computers and connections.
  14. I fully agree. It was much nicer than normal in our town- I think it was because everyone was too sleep deprived. I did notice a bunch of people you normally wouldn't. The mall was FULL of teenagers running around unattended, playing 'pranks' on people. There were also a TON of drunks- as many stores open just as the bars are closing. Bars do a lot of business on Thanksgiving. NOT a good mix. I also noticed a lot more people bringing out their kids at Walmart like the 10:00 p.m. time made it okay. There was a very clean cut lady with a baby that couldn't have been a month old in one of those slingshot-looking carriers on her waist in the middle of the $1 Walmart towel rush.
  15. They updated it after I posted. They originally asked them to leave and by the 10:00 news, it was just the tents. I don't think it wouldn't have been a big deal if not for the media pushing it due to the homeless camp.
  16. This took place in my town today. http://www.ky3.com/news/kspr-best-buy-black-friday-campers-vs-homeless-camp-20111123,0,6384553.story The guy running the camp has taken a lot of heat over the years for doing everything he can to help the community. Whether or not he's going about it the right way, his heart is in the right place. I was appalled at first, but then I realized that if people cannot sleep in a tent as a home, why should others be allowed to do it for fun?
  17. Their official policy is 50 miles. It's on their website.
  18. I have one and love it and hate it. The space saving is great, and mine has a batter backup so if the power blinks it just restores. I can put it to sleep,, pick it up, and carry it to another room and not lose anything. Mine is only slow online. It's silly things, like typing on Facebook. I type, then wait several minutes for letters to show up. Then it hiccups and misses some letters in the middle. No one is quite sure why it does this (could be our slow Internet or the included wireless card). Mines a Compaq. I will recommend that you make sure you get one with everything you need so that you don't have to try to add-on. I recently found mine didn't have a VGA port for a dual monitor- whoops!
  19. I'd go ahead- if you do find it cheaper, it will probably be at Amazon and just a buck or two. Amazon's prices change so much that you might miss the $8.24 price and kick yourself later.
  20. I thought the $199 - 30% off was pretty good. That's just $140.
  21. Yes, you can. I've done it a million times. Just pop up a chat box and ask. There is even a spot in most listings now that says 'find a lower price?' where you can submit info. They even dropped my computer back to a previous price ($200 difference) when I asked.
