  1. what do you want/need in the bundle?
  2. fuzzy blankets, puzzle books, handheld games (solitare yahtzee, etc) batteries.
  3. I would guess one phone call would handle it. By making it a doorbuster on saturday (outside office hours) they make it more complicated - but not by much. One call or letter from a States Attorney General will likely produce a quick response.
  4. so the item is retail $79.99? (50.00 mail in rebate and 29.99 instant savings) It is true corporate is responsible for ads well in advance - but their legal dept is responsible for complying with the State laws where they are based, as well as where they do business. My quick interpetation is that had you bought the item during the doorbuster time - you should have received the item with no money changing hands. Other wise they seem to have violated the law (http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/billtext06/housetext06/h6720.pdf). I'd have bought it, and called the State's attorney Generals office from my cell phone when they asked for $$$ :)
  5. Gamestop has a list - they can tell you the possible trade in value before the open the games... of course they won't offer to do that - but you can call over the phone and get the trade in price. It is usually crap. You are better off selling them on craigs list or a local trading post. I understand about kids and store credit. I don't know how old your son is - or what happened to the games in the end - but I'd have him call. :) if he is old enough.
  6. ya, pretty good. EVERYONE is playing it & there is lots of hidden stuff
  7. better than here where they announced (just in time for the holidays) the intent to eliminate 400 positions within the next 2 years.
  8. thats wonderful. I am sure she will love it.
  9. wrapping/packing/cleaning - ACK. Shopping - done.
  10. let me just say - that is great! I know it is frustrating, but how wonderful that he is not focused on the material things! I, on the other hand, have children who are acutely aware of material things. They are not spoiled, but they know. they can recite a list blindfolded at 100 paces (wait that doesn't even make sense). Anyway, I have a 7yr old, I can PM you his list if it would help, but he asked for: Books, legos, transformers, a pool table (TRU TOY Book), etc.
  11. 10.99-12.99 at fye (member's get cheaper price) http://http://www.fye.com/The-Simpsons--The-Movie--WS--Front-Page_stcVVproductId23467699VVcatId455366VVviewprod.htm
  12. while it is true things are stressful in a retail environment this time of year, the people that work there (however shabbily treated and paid) have signed up (not been drafted) to work these jobs. I don't expect them to go out of their way to be extra special kind to me, but the basics I do expect: Look me in the eye, don't swear at me or about me on the retail floor (swear about me out back all you want) and don't be blatently rude. I worked retail for a number of years and had to teach these skills to our teenage hires. Don't talk around the customer to your friend. Don't be rude. Even when they are nasty, still be pleasant. I've had people swear at me, throw things at me, scream, etc. My favorite was the lady who screamed at me for calling her "ma'am".
  13. By posting you are inviting comments, and we all have our own minds. What the poster said was not rude, just wasn't what you wanted to hear. If this is the worst issue you have with your MIL, I understand your frustration, but it is minor in the scope of things. I hope you and yours have a lovely holiday.

  18. I'm staggered a the fact she went into your wallet and changed something that was yours. I'd be mad, if I were you. Did you have her name on it? Or was it just a list of things? I am a B!tch. I would get her one gift - not on any version of the list, and if she asks, I would say those are your coworkers shopping list, and you were helping him hide things, or that I gave that all to charity. *********** Keep in mind - there is a reason I am not a marriage counselor.
