we don't send gifts.... we visit - and watch them open them. my kids write thank you notes. most of the other kids in the family do not

nope... between work and kids there isn't much free time... I use it for me, for errands, and for volunteering.

I'd limit the cash... take some - in case credit machines go down... but no more than the 1 most expensive thing you are planning on buying.

I'm spending less this year in general... as much because other people's money is tight and I don't want it to be awkward. I am hopping to focus on the kids this year... we've gotten out of control in the past, buying for everyone... I don't regret it... but they don't appreciate it, either...

DS8 loves it. the original and the Alien force series. they have really cool action figures - probably can find them on Amazon. as for science - how old? volcano kits are fun. Radio shack always had build your own radio (or clock) sets...

my kids make keychains/ornaments. Get some beads (dollar store/craft store/walmart) string them together w/ a keychain... can hang on a tree or be used for keys... easy, not messy...

DS wants Bakugan figures (not the cards) and our local (crappy) walmart is out. If their on your kids list, I'd grab 'em now!

plan, plan, plan. bring your dwarf friend, (or child who is old enough to not get lost, but small enough for this) to wiggle to the area you need to get to! Dress in layers (depending on the climate) have some one to fetch and schlep for you.

I just got back. I worked 7.5 hr. I got 90$ (warehouse price) of stuff. Paid zero. 90 warehouse = AT LEAST $180 cover price (although I got at last 45 packs of books for a buck a piece... and they have 2, 3, or more books in them. 20 w/ Madlibs for DD class 20 w/ halloween books for DS class.) Oh, yeah, it was fun

didn't want to start a new thread for this... My warehouse moved! they're having a sale today. I'm on my way for a 4 hour shift today and a 3 hr shift tomorrow - Yay!
