Yay, I used the free month from quick and simple! I'mmmm back.....

A lot of GDers have said they video Christmas morning... DO you watch that video? that year? the next year? every year? we have lots of footage and photos that we rarely look at... almost makes me wonder why we do it...

does it need to be big enough for your DH too, or just the canine? what size dog?

even if your children believe - you can let them know you are helping Santa... as most kids get presents from there parent's too, and these kids might not... Santa trys to concentrate on kids gifts... so your helping give the moms and dads presents they can give their kids...

get the Volcano kit! what fun!

I got tons of erasers at the Dollar store for a buck. I searched "corporate promotions" and got tons of pages... if you ever wanted to put the school name on stuff.. that'd be the route to go...

OK, maybe I am anal... but we have rules about how presents are opened at our house... do you? here are our rules. 1. We take turns. Everyone watches each gift be opened - giving the opener our full attention. 2. You show appreciation. even if you hate it. even if you already have one. even if it is broken. 3. You do not tell the giver if you already have it... you can tell mom and dad separately, we will assist you in finding a solution. 4. Be polite. 5. You do not open a gift that is not yours (ok, this rule has been retired as they've grown older... it is not an issue. It used to be ) These rules have stayed the same since DD was 2, and they are repeated like a mantra repeated over and over for a couple of weeks which includes DDs Bday, Xmas, and Hanukkah. They've carried over to other occasions where there are gifts being given... and to other houses, as friends and family visit and admire how it works. I've been at Xmas celebrations where I did not know what was being exchanged. barely controlled chaos. I like this much better - we all get to ooh and ahh.. and I can associate a gift with a giver, to make sure thank yous are written. am I the only with rules?

I am not in any of those states - so if I come across some, I will share. -
to be fair - my kids make lists of who they want to give gifts to each season... and while I may sway them, it is their list... So perhaps it is not that parents forget the drivers....
-
biggest miss - I dunno - can't remember.... biggest hit - surprise! it was the sweatshirts from old navy for DD and the nice clothes DS got... (button down shirt, etc) they get the most use...

does your house use perler beads? you could make bus ornaments...
-
a case of handwarmers - they have all that outside the bus maintenance....

ok, he is old enough for either. get a gift certificate to best buy, get an empty PSP box, and empty Ipod box, and an empty zune box (post on freecylce or craigs list asking for them) and package them one inside the other inside the other... with a note saying "you choose"

the question was if it was legal.

when we do this we usually give a toy or 2 to each kid... the ones who ask for specific things... sometimes some mittens, too.
-
you could put my GD mustang in one.... :)

we have a portable DVD player for long trips, and I don't want to listen to what they are listening to! they play video games, as well as watch movies, and DH and I get a chance to talk. to each other. if I can hear what is on their headphones - it is too loud, and they must turn them down.
-
usually do our BF down by my in-laws ... so 1 hr from them, 4 hr if I were to go there from home... I wouldn't.

4? wow. are they siblings?
