  1. I think it just depends on what each store does. I have been on here for 2 years now and it seems there is no real uniform in what the stores do as far as the lines or personal shopper program.
  2. Home :) In our family BF is an event so we have other members of our family at other stores.
  3. The best bet is to contact your local store and ask the manager. Good Luck!
  4. You are welcome. The TVs at the BB I go to are kept near the customer service desk and or the TV area that night. I hope this helps.
  5. If you have a ticket and have not paid for the item by 12 noon then the TV is put on the sales floor and anyone can buy it at that point. If you dont have a car big to ship the TV home then I would rent a truck from home depot or Uhaul.
  6. The store manger told me the reason BB but in the new clause is that it was in response to people doing alot of price matching on BF and because if the ads being leaked.
  7. Welcome to the community! There is a Kmart section of the site that might help you in your price matching questions. http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44
  8. I was told by a BB manager and shown an email from HQ that BB now has a BF clause in there policy that states no price matching on BF. The manager tells me that BB sees the doorbuster prices as a gift to loyal BB customers who camp out.
  9. Yes! Once they open the doors if you dont want anything else like more RAM or other items then you will go to the checkout they tell you when you get your ticket. Once you are at the checkout they will sell you the laptop and you can go home.
  10. In the 5 years I have been doing BF at BB they have started to put stuff out about an hour or hour 1/2 before closing. At the BB i shop at they will stack all of the doorbuster desktops behind the geek squad counter. All I do is walk by and count. If I count 20 boxes then I know there will be at least 20 up for grabs. Most of the time they stack the TVs in the TV section or in the Customer Service Desk area. Most store managers want to get there workers home on Wednesday night because they want as much rest as they can get because Friday will be an 18 hour day for most. When the store managers get to the store at 2am on Friday they dont want to mess with stocking because there will be alot of last minute stuff they need to take care of.
  11. It does not state it on the ad scan. Last year my BB has about 100 at the most but they went fast.
  12. Do they benefit from your BF shopping? If they do ask the same question I did and see what there reaction is.
  13. I was just curious if any one else will be going to Best Buy an hour or so before closing on Nov 22 (Wednesday) to see where they are setting up and stocking items. Does anyone do this or do I just take this BF thing too far?
  14. Yes. If you have a ticketed item I would run and get your monitor and video card first since it will be a free for all on it and after you get it then stand in line for your ticketed items.
  15. I was at Frisco last year. Beware of the drunks getting out of the bars across the street and line jumpers! I had to call 911 last year because if the drunks.
  16. I would say half and half. I was at BB yesterday and my personal shopper said that they were getting orders from HQ this week and after that the store was going to have a store wide meeting about BF. We will have to wait and see.
  17. Last year at the BB I was at the Sandisk 512 was on an endcap in the middle of the store. They were cleaned out within minutes of the store opening.
  18. No! You are on your own. My advice to you is to go to your BB about an hour before they close on Wednesday night (day before Thanksgiving) and do recon. By then they will be setting up stuff so just walk around, look around and take a note in your mind on what is going on.
  19. Last year they had a great promo the week before BF. What I did was I went to BB on the Wednesday before BF and got gift cards. That way I was locked into the financing promo for the ad Sun thru Wednesday since the BF ad did not have anything special.
  20. You have to get a ticket for each item you want. What will happen is that someone from Best Buy will come out with one set of tickets and start at the front of the line. He/She will say "179 Emachine" and will go down the line until he/she runs out. Then a second store worker will come down the line with a different set of tickets and will do the same until he/she runs out or gets to the end of the line. The graphics card you want wont be a ticketed item. What you will have to do is when the door opens is to run to the area where they have them and grab what you want. Then you will have to stand in line for each ticketed item. By your list above you will have to stand in 2 or 3 lines to claim each ticketed item. Each line will take about an hour or more each. Good luck!
  21. All Best Buys will open at 5am and they will start passing tickets out at 4am. If any doubt call your local BB.
  22. Welcome to the community! A door buster is an item that is in limited quantity to get people into the store to shop for other items. Examples include desktops, laptops and TVs. Most door busters require a ticket to get which you can get by camping out the night before. For other Black Friday FAQ's check: http://forums.gottadeal.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35
  23. There are 11 pages in this category so it wont be hard to find a thread. Also there are some for each store in the store categories. I know there is at least one in the BB one.
