Our gifting started today because of out of town people, so I'll start... a nice throw blanket pants 1 size too small shirt 1 size small vest 1 size too big (and ugly) did I mention it was my MIL who bought these gifts? movie theatre gift certificates a fun bracelet candles and under the tree is packed!!! What did you get?

I was in store at 8am today 12/23 and no sales at all, no early x-mas clearance, nothing. The good news is they were well stocked and my shopping is now done!!!

A friend of mine wraps everything in empty food boxes. Cereal, cream cheese whatever box she has. Everyone laughs!!!

My broother had a boy cabbage doll when we were little. No issues with it at all and this was in the much more closed minded 80's. My 5yo son is getting his 4th or 5th care bear this year, the kids on the show are a boy and a girl so I have no issues. But then again, I bought him a rub-a dub dolly when he was 2 to play with in the tub so maybe I'm the weird one???

We have a rule in my house that mom approves all gift lists sent sant to santa. I know your dilema was unavoidable because it was done at school but my rule helps here since the schools are not involved in the holiday business anymore (don't get me going on that one!) My 12yo asked to put a computer on his list and I told him no way, if he put that mom and santa would have to join forces and make it his one and only gift. He was reasonable and decided that an mp3 player, weather/clock system, video game and new controller, pocket knife, camping equipment and a yo-yo were fun as a group than one computer that mom would still supervise and control.

I liked mine at 72 or higher until I had to pay the bill. Now it's at 62 for workday and night to sleep. We "splurge" and turn it up to 66 in the evening.

Wal-Mart, then home for a nap. The cookies and food combined with the 5 am gift opening and the wild house cleaning the week before tend to make me so tired I choose to go to only 1 store full of wild animals trying to save 25% off a half used box of christmas tissues that they will invariably lose before next year anyway. Was I rambling? Sorry. My wal-mart is awful right now!!! :)

Not much flies out of Portland Maine, so Southwest is only 2.5 hrs away and IF I had been on in time the cheapest fare would have been $59 or $79 each way. Since I need 8 tix this was the only way we could afford to go. $2550 for all of us is just too far out of my range. Nothing else cheap flies from here so it looks like we are going in July when it will be hotter than Hell and bad for my dads heart problems....BUT Thank You all again for the advice and I will be looking again closer to April and I will keep checking southwest.com. I never give up, I was just crushed that yesterday missing the announcement by 2 hours made such a huge difference.

I know how I got so far behind. There's this great website, with lots of great deals and if I am not here..um..i mean..there. :) ...I could miss out on a great deal. So the boxes wait a little longer to get wrapped, and the store does not see me much....it's not all bad, I did get a free skirt from bluefly that I can now give to a co-worker and have none of my usual "I spent too much on that" feelings.

I'm not 100% on this but it was always just a new account. Not a current scbscriber. 7 years ago should not matter at all. They don't check too deep because they don't really want to lose the money they'll make from you.

Ask at Radio Shack, Staples or Best Buy. I just saw it in one of these in store, They do exist. I just spend too much time in stores and I can't remember where I saw this. I wish I could be more help.

This is about the same as Wal-Mart so if Target is closer grab it there. It is an ok price, about the lowest you'll find this time of year unless you find a last second sale...wouldn't wait on that though.
