  1. I was thinking the same thing, you saved me the typing!!! lol
  2. Look for store brand patches, around here CVS makes a patch that is 1/3 less than the name brand. GOOD LUCK!!!! Keep up the good work, it's not easy but you can do it!
  3. Wal-Mart had one in their ad last week (price prob still good) for around $68. It had all the basic stitches and no extra stuff to confuse a new seamstress. I have the model before that one and it is just fine for my simple projects and my son to learn to sew on.
  4. If you put this in the Deal Finder forum you might get more help. We have no IKEA here, just Pier 1 imports, not sure if they are similar or not.
  5. for my 16th b-day my mom made me a chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting, decorated with a HUGE hershey kiss (chocolate), at the time chocolate was my least fav thing in the world...and she Knew it!! happy effen b-day to me!!! btw...I love choc now, must be an age thing...
  6. I searched and did not find this, If I'm wrong go easy on me! I went 2 days ago to order Emily's cake from the bakery at super walmart and when I asked them to write "Happy first birthday Emily" the girl says, "You know, since it's her 1st b-day you get a free cake for her." I didn't change my order, but the extra cake was a cute 4" round cake. They even decorated it to match the big cake. They charge a penny for this cake because they need to have a record of the sale, but they take a penny off the cost of the bigger cake.... Nice freebie if someone is celebrating a 1st b-day and lives near a super wm. Plus their cake was the cheapest around my area and didn't charge more for whipped cream frosting...
  7. great find!!! I am doing to be looking for one in may...the rush should be over by then...hopefully...
  8. I went back today and there was tons of stuff, I was picking up 2 other things so I threw in a roll of paper I was "eyeing" earlier this week. The signs all said 50% but the register was set to 75%. Of course I had to go back and buy more stuff...I spent $20 on $80 worth of stuff to give to people next year, stuff they'll like even because the sign not being changed means there was still good stuff to grab!!! Yeah!!
  9. I bought my husband a replacement drive last year, the xbox works like new. The "dirty disc" error was constant and awful. For $45 it was an easy fix. Bought the drive on e-bay, used the instructions on llamma.com. The worst part was all the micro-screws to remove to got to the drive. Good luck!!
  10. My son turned 12 in august, knows about the santa conspiracy and loves to pick out his own gifts....figured he was old enough to get into the BF thing...he had a ball....we all did, grammy and grampy joined the fun, then we all went out for breakfast...never too young to start saving money...
  11. I have this bag and LOVE it!!! It is huge inside, no wasted space. It can easily pack for a weekend getaway or longer if it's summer clothes. It's nice because with all that space it still doesn't feel like you're carrying a huge bag. Great find!!!!
  12. Kohls store (brick and mortar) had Colombia jackets in 3x and 2x just 2 days ago...they were on sale so ymmv but good luck, they had some nice ones...
  13. Walmart not at 75% yet, just got back... some clearance stuff in toys but nothing to rave about yet...
  14. They weren't marked as 50% off at my wm but they rang up that way, go back and check or you might miss them....
  15. Christmas club = put money in account at bank/cu all year; weekly or biweekly. Then just before x-mas you can take it out to do your shopping with $ you saved all year and not have to scramble to get the cash during the holiday. My cu does one, i have never participated but I konw you can only take the $ out at a certain time...forces you to keep it until x-mas time.
  16. DS is 12, he is as much of a computer geek as hubby and I are, within an hour after the presents he had the songs pulled off my computer and onto the player. He was nice and quiet in his song world for the rest of the day :)

    fee for a gift card

AmEx gc is one that loses value, 12 mo after purchase it begins to accumulate monthly fee, it could easily drain itself down to nothing...
  18. I'm glad I'm not the only skeptic but around this web-site I am begining to believe!!
  19. I didn't get them bf because I used the best buy bucks on them three weeks earlier so I missed out on the 10 free downloads. It was for my 12 yo so he doesn't care about poor reception and with the final price I paid I guess it will do. He's happy so I'm happy. He only gets 1 or 2 FM stations but since he just wants to listen to Led Zeppelin (he thinks he just invented them or something) I doubt he'll even use the FM tuner. Now if I could figure out a way to still get the downloads I might.....

    fee for a gift card

I have heard of this before but I would still be pi$$ed to pay for the "privilege" of giving them my money.
  21. My ham said cook at 325 for 1 hour, but over 1.5 hrs later it wasn't done. Had to cut it and microwave it. Not sure what we did wrong but oh well, it tasted fine, we just didn't tell the guests that we microwaved it.
  22. Now I have my real gifts. I got a watch I really wanted, the last 3 houses in a Wade set I started collecting 25 years ago, 3 nightgiwns, Calphalon frying pan, jeans, shirt, antique pin, necklace + earrings, black and decker bottle/jar opened....way too much stuff. but I love it all.
  23. The last presents (santa and mom/dad) are now wrapped and under the tree. I finished 45 mins before it officially turned Christmas in this time zone. YEAH!!!

    Holiday Birthday

My daughter's birthday is Jan 2nd and we are hoping that 1 week after Christmas will be far enough for people to not try to combine the days. I think this year we are going to do her party a week late so we are all over tha Holiday lag. This is her 1st b-day so she won't notice the delayed party. People can shop the after sales and save $$$ on her gifts ( I love to save $$$) :)
