The approach I took with getting a starter DSLR was that I knew what the brands were out there, and what models were the "starter" ones. I looked at the Nikon D40, D60, and the Canon XSi. They just came out with a Nikon D3000 and I think Canon has some new ones coming out also. The number of MP's a camera has should not be the reason why you buy a camera - the MPs only tell you how big of a picture you can take, not how great the picture will turn out. Best Buy has this package for 749.97: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999117100050004&st=nikon+d60&lp=4&type=product&cp=1&id=pcmprd117200050004 It is the body, kit lens, an 55-200mm lens and a bag in one package. Try to find deals in that range for this camera. For the Canon XSi, BB has it for 699: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8794691&st=canon+xsi&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1205537713445 But it is much cheaper at Amazon, which is where I bought mine. From there, I just looked at what each camera offered, compared the number of auto focus points, and the price... and then just bought the Canon anyways because I have owned only Canon cameras for quite a while. This hobby gets expensive though! I've been oogling additional lenses - I want a "portrait" type lens, and eventually a zoom lens. I also need to learn how to take better pictures, which is also going to cost me money.

I saw some nice, generic cards at Michael's for $1.00 for 8. If you don't have a lot to send out, it's an option.

I have the XSi. Love it. Need to learn how to take better pictures, but overall, love it. When I was at Target earlier this week, I noticed the Nikon D40 was on clearance, if you're interested in something now.

I need to resolve to do this on an everyday basis.

Sadly, I have none. I had been waiting for something to come through where I'd at least break even. It's taking time to rebuild the stash!

I got 3.00, and I suspect it's all due to prescriptions. I didn't buy much during the summer quarter at CVS. I went today and picked up toothpaste - 2.99, -1.00 coupon, got $2 in ECBs. I really needed it too.
-
Check for your quarterly ECBs!

Last year's thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=125839&highlight=bed+bath Maybe I should make a note to see if they participate. Probably won't be anything huge though.

How would you feel if a store only let in 20 people at a time, with employees watching the line, to keep people from jumping? For stores that do not do tickets, of course. (A sane shopping experience not guaranteed when you get inside.)

For all you California/Nevada people that had a Longs Drugs convert to CVS: Check it out! My local Longs now a CVS had a bunch of Christmas stuff out CHEAP! It was stuff that was manufactured just for longs, so now they've stuck it out to get rid of it before the Christmas rush starts! Some garland, small trees, decorations, lights, ornament hooks, paper and ribbon. I picked up some lights, ribbon, and ornament hooks this morning.

So triple yes, you just can't combine the 15% off with a 10 off 50 for example. -

The UCLA Thrift Shop (on Sawtelle near Santa Monica Blvd) is a great place to find slightly used but expensive handbags. Proceeds benefit the UCLA hospital I think.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
freesia39 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I was buying Tide last week that was 10.99. I gave her two coupons - one Target, one manufacturer's. She said "did you have two?" "No, you can combine a Target and manufacturer's coupon." She gave me a skeptical look and scanned them both. It went through. Sometimes you have to be pushy but polite. -

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
freesia39 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I have used a Target Coupon and a Manufacturer's coupon together with no problem. (I must note that the Target coupon was mailed to me in a booklet, not printed, if that makes a difference.) -
Those aren't real. It ships from another country and the prices are not anywhere close to real. The model numbers aren't close, plus it doesn't name the bag. They probably know people at the Coach factory in China, take the material/patterns, and just splash them on other bags.
