  1. WBTU 93.3 and WMEE 97.3 in Fort Wayne, IN. both start on Thanksgiving and run until Christmas Day. It's kind of nice because one station is all country and the other is a mixture.
  2. Check www.qvc.com, they usually have really good deals on kitchenaid mixers. I just got the new 450w professional series with the larger bowl for $247.XX. My total came to like $279.xx with tax and shipping. But that was a today special value since it was the first time that QVC had that specific mixer. I know I have seen them on amazon for like $319.00 normally $399.00.
  3. Wow the ones around here will, to ad match it just needs to be the right day/week or before the time the other store stops their sale.
  4. Yes, my DH knows. He is actually the spender in our family. I will wait to buy something until it goes on sale or will research to see where the cheapest place is to buy it. Not him, if he wants it he buys it at the first store he can. At christmas he doesn't care what I spend because we both love to have big christmas'. Usually he asks me if I am really done because we need more stuff! He didn't have a lot growing up (his dad wasn't around and his mom just didn't care) and now I think he is reliving his childhood christmas' thru our kids!
  5. In my area (northwest Ohio/northeast Indiana) the zoo has Festival of Lights that you can walk thru. There is fantasy of lights that you can either drive thru or take horse and carriage rides thru it. There is the lighting of a HUGE santa with sleigh and reindeer on the side of a building, I'll have to see if I can find a picture on-line of it. There is a gingerbread festival that is really neat. There is also festival of trees. In my hometown there is a christmas parade, santa comes to town and sets up a mail box for the kids to drop off their letters to him, the lighting of a large tree that has 'adopted a family' ornaments on it, the town hangs christmas banners and lights all the way thru the main strip, both schools put on concerts, and for about two week prior to christmas there is a group of people who get dressed up in really neat outfits and go caroling at night. I'm in the country so they don't come by my house but we do see them every once in awhile when we are uptown at night.
  6. Wow, I've never had a problem with LTD. I haven't ordered anything since last christmas but everything came in on time and everything was in one big box. I think I'll look at that lakesidecollection.com though.
  7. For my kids, I bought a wooden box at a craft store and painted it for christmas and put 'Santa's Mail Box' on it and my kids put their letters and wish lists in that then we set it outside. When they go to sleep I get the letter and about a week or so later I reply to them from santa. I tell my kids that the post office can't get to the north pole this time of year because of everyone sending presents and cards to loved ones so Santa's elves fly around at night picking up and dropping off letters. This had worked great for our family and saves the postage.

    Harry Potter

I read an article several months ago stating that she was done writing and had a title but production was not going to be stated until like December of this year with a release date sometime next July. I really love these books and movies. I just wish they would make the movies closer together. I think that the characters are looking to old to be playing 13, 14, 15 year olds.
  9. I picked the wrong one now that I figure it up again! This year I figure the kids will get 16 gifts a piece plus stockings. But when you brake it down it's not really a lot: 3 pjs, 3 t-shirts, 3 jeans, socks, underwear, boots (cowboy for DS, then girly boots for both DD) a DVD movie, and then three toys a piece. i could decrease it by 3 if I put the t-shirts and jeans together but I like the look of having lots of presents under the tree!
  10. We usually don't take them down until the middle of January.
  11. Thank you so much! I think I'm going to go with the Rock a Bye Chou Chou for DD who is 3 and the Talking Chou Chou for DSD who is 7.
  12. I am trying to find baby dolls for my two daughters (3 & 7). The 7 yr old wants the Amazing Amanda but I think she is too high priced and she is getting bad reviews. I have a couple questions about the Chou Chou dolls. 1. Am I right on the difference for the chou chou dolls?:Talking chou chou talks only, no crying or giggling but the Rock a bye chou chou Crys and giggles but does not talk. 2. Is there an off and on switch to these dolls because the Rock a bye description says that she can wake up crying or laughing even when she is laying down. 3. One review I read about the talking one stated something about not feeding her to much water. Do you have to feed them with real water and/or that powder food? or just give them the pretend bottle? TIA!!
  13. If I didn't have a babysitter I would skip BF. There is no way I would drag my kids out in the cold to sit for hours just to get a couple of deals. And I would never leave my kids in a car unless someone else who can legally drive was with them. Now for your situation, you have a 13 year old that you have decided to leave them with. Some questions to ask him before giving him that kind of responsibility. He should already know these things anyway. 1. Does he know several fire escape plans in case there would be a fire? 2. Does he know how to use a fire extinguisher? 3. Does he know to NOT open the door to anyone unless he is absolutly positive he knows them and only if it is family? 4. Can he remember to dial 911 in case of an emergency? 5. Does he know CPR? Things to ask yourself: 1. Would he be good towards the other two? We all know how siblings can be when parents aren't around! 2. Would he follow all your rules? 3. Do you know that he is mature enough to handle any situation?
  14. No not really. They repair video game systems, video games, DVD's, CD's plus they are a trading post/or buy really cheap for video games and dvd's.
  15. My DS got one for christmas the first year they came out so what 3 years ago I think. His just stopped working one day over the summer. We plan to take it to a local repair shop that is cheap. Hopefully they can fix it, I would hate for all those games to go to waste. Check Meijer for the games, the couple Meijer stores around here are all the time putting the games on sale for like $9 a piece.
  16. Take him to a local gym and have him do sprints on a basketball court timed! It will teach him to be fast and how to go really low when needed. Have him practice the miltary crawl, where he would be on his stomach and has to crawl with his arms. This could help him get thru large crowds without being noticed! Then clear a spot in your house and pick an object and pretend it is a blitz item and he has it is his hands but you (as a stranger) is trying to take it away. But tell him not to let you for any reason! Drill it into him that BF is NOT the day to be Nice once shopping has started. Worry about yourself and only yourself! Well he can worry about you too! Good Luck training another BF Shopper!
  17. All the diecast cars and the Smack N Yaks have always been those prices at the walmart near me. Not much of an ad for me. I will have to stop into walmart tonight to see if they have any different diecast cars beside the ones I have already gotten which is Lighting, Mater, Sheriff, Ramone, and sally.
  18. Maize and Blue all the way! No better team out there! I may technically be a buckeye due to where I live but I'm a Wolverine at heart! Did you hear that the tickets this year are currently going for $4800.00 a piece? I would love to go to a game but I would have to go to 'THE BIG HOUSE'!
  19. We're going to take the kids on Nov 11th. We don't want to fight the crowds on opening weekend plus it would be the perfect end to that saturday since we are going to decorate the inside of the house.
  20. I don't think so. We plan to decorate the outside of the house this weekend since it's going to be nice. I hate decorating and freezing my buns off! Then we are going to decorate the inside the following weekend (Nov 11-12) so that my step daughter can help also. Normally it is done Thanksgiving Night but I don't want to deal with it this year that night and the saturday before Thanksgiving will be the big Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State game so our whole Saturday is taken up for that. We just won't turn any of the stuff on until Thanksgiving Night.
  21. I think we are going to do the outside lights this weekend. I want to get it done before the temp really drops.
  22. I got this ad in the mail yesterday. I was really shocked as I normally don't get a walmart ad.
  23. Let it be Christmas by Alan Jackson. I could listen to that song all day long everyday and never get sick of it.
  24. I pay with one credit card. I hate carrying cash. Normally I only have a dollar or two in my pocket. Then saturday I transfer how ever much I spent from my savings to my checking then either make an on-line payment or write a check to the bank that my credit card is from.
  25. I use to have this one website in my favorites which carried only ornaments and they could be personalized but I lost it. Does anyone know of any website like that?
