I don't have a budget either and I couldn't tell you what I spend to be honest. I just keep my eyes open for a good bargin and pick stuff up when I do. I have a basic list of things I always get the kids: 3 outfits, 3 pj's, socks, underwear, shoes/boots. The rest is either picked up because I know they will like it (such as I got DSD Hannah Montana perfum) or it is on their lists. All 3 kids get the same amount of presents right now since they are close in age but as they get older I will start spending a certain dollar amount since teenagers want more expensive stuff.

We use to put outdoor lights up in October but after buying over $150 in lights last year that almost all ended up ruined I'm not doing outside decorations this year. For indoor decorations, we started putting everything up the day of the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State game. We start on stuff before the game, set down together to watch the game then finish after the game while discussing the game.

Don't get an itunes card unless she has an Ipod. If she has a different mp3 player there is always Napster cards. I would like to know her age also. My preteen niece is hard core into High School Musical so find out if she likes that sort of stuff. Hannah Montana is really big right now too, shoot I'm 27 and I love her!

PM sent. I loved getting all the cards last year, I got so excited each time a new one would come. I'd read it to the kids then we would hang it up! I also loved the ornaments I got last year! Can't wait for this year!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I checked Ticketmaster twice and it was a no go but I did get my tickets thru the email link about 30 minutes ago, shortly after my last post. I just couldn't post on here because I had to get uptown before the post office closed for lunch. DH and I are so excited about going this year. I hope it stands up to the great comments I have heard/read.

Our's changes every year since one year we have DSD on Christmas Eve then the next year on Christmas Day. When we have her on CE we open one present (usually pj's) the night before then the rest CE afternoon after I get home from work (Yes I have to work half a day on CE if it falls MON-FRI), the rest of the day is just the kids enjoying their new toys and watching christmas shows. The two that live with us full time also get presents on CD from Santa when DH and I get ours then everyone goes next door to my dad's house for the family Christmas dinner. If we have DSD on Christmas Day then the kids get pj's CE night and the rest Christmas Morning. Afterwards we go to my dad's. My mom always comes to my dad's Christmas dinner so that is taken care of and DH's parents come down the weekend before Christmas.

I still get them! Why wouldn't I get them from Santa? Are you trying to tell me something?!?!

We leave hot chocolate on the stove and a note telling Santa to take any snack from the cupboard he wants, plus we put reindeer food and carrots on the yard (usually it's snow covered). Santa always leaves the cupboard opened and the snack wrapper on the counter with a thank you note.

That's me. I send DH to another store (usually Target or Toys R Us) with a shopping list while I hit walmart. He wouldn't be able to handle Walmart! Then we meet up for breakfast around 7 a.m. at Bob Evans and then go our seperate ways again to finish out some shopping. We are both usually home with all the shopping done by 10:30-11:00.

I would have to say my favorite part was meeting a wonderful associate at Walmart. They were bringing items out and some of the associates were unwrapping them and walking away so people would get what they wanted and move on before the 5 a.m. shopping. Well the woman that brought out the boys jeans stayed in front of it and wouldn't let anyone take any off like they are suppose to do, when she seen what was happening with the other clothes we started talking since I was the only person actually waiting like your suppose to. She finally got mad enough after talking to one of the people in charge (because they were not doing anything about people putting stuff in their carts) that she held my place in line with my cart so I could go pick up all the other clothes I wanted and she found the size of jeans I needed for my son and put three pairs on top so all I had to do was pick them up! She made everyone else dig!

I have a question: Why is the Walmart bundle more expensive then if I would buy each item seperatly from Circuit City?

I plan to start taking some collge classes online in January and I would like a notebook to do all my school work on so I am not always taking up the home computer. I know I want a Sony Vaio but I don't know much about notebooks. Is this a good deal or is there something better out there? My stove is from sears and I am very happy with it. My mom & stepdad and my dad both have washer and dryers from sears and have never had any problems with them. My moms are 16 years old. All the stores in my area are great. They always have stuff in stock and the associates are very helpful. When I got my stove, I wanted a model that they had been discontinued before I could get back into buy it. The associate spent an hour trying to find one and even got the manager to write off the shipping charges if one needed to be shipped. Well one was found about a hour drive from me but would have taken two to three weeks to get so I decided to go get it myself and the manager gave me a 10% discount and took all my info down and about two weeks later I got a card and giftcard worth $20.00 for my troubles!

We paid that much for our wooden swing set from Menards. It has the clubhouse, sandbox under that along with a half table to one side, 2 swings, 1 set of rings, monkeybars, and the circle slide that turns into a waterslide. One looks at so many and Menards had the best price, One place quoted $10,000 for the same thing we have now with a couple other options.

I shop with QVC several times a year. A couple months ago I bought the newest KitchenAid Professional 450 watt 10 speed mixer with the new dough hook and extra wide bowl and I paid less money including tax and shipping than what an artisian style one sells for in the stores around here. I have found some great deals on QVC but quite a few of their products are over priced or about the same as I can buy from a store and it costs less to drive to the store than their shipping. One great thing about QVC is their customer service. My dad ordered a new food saver and a couple days later got a call saying that somehow the woman who took his order placed his order then cancelled it and because of this the extra bags ended up costing more and they were backordered. By the end of the call my dad ended up getting the extra bags for free and got free shipping on everything! Just know your products and their costs at other places before ordering.
