  1. PS2 I think will be shadowed a bit with the new X-Box coming out. If anyone is talking about a system right now its that.
  2. One of my worst had nothing to do with the stores themselves. About 4 yrs ago, I set my alarm and get up around 1am. (I get in line around 2 am as they are tons of die hard shoppers around here). Anyway, I get dressed and put on my winter coat. When I opened the door, I was so upset. Snow on the ground and coming down pretty good and slight sleet. Miserable weather and freezing! I hated staying out in that weather that year. I pray weather is ok this year.
  3. I just found out The Childrens Place has an outlet about 40 minutes away. My neighbor just went and bought winter coats for her kids. Only paid $15 each for two suede jackets. They are beautiful. Have to get my husband to bring me!
  4. TY! My son got an electric guitar w/ amp last year. This year is a keyboard. Not sure where he's going with this (God I hope a band isn't in the future) LOL, but this is what he wants for this big gift this year (Each of our kids get to pick one "big" item. Not necessarily size, but price.
  5. Gas is down to $2.58 a gallon here in Ohio.

    just wondering

I don't remember my mom growing up shopping big on one day. maybe it was around, but not a "huge deal" until the last 5-10 years or so. I know I've been going out since 99.
  7. We didn't do tons of outside decorating last year. Now you come into the house and are shocked. Its a christmas wonderland. My street has a competition every year on who has the best decorations. Every year my one neighbor wins it. And every year my husband and I say we are going to enter! Maybe this year. LOL
  8. There is a really nice one on clearance for $99. Thanks for posting. I'll see if my husband could get us up there in Akron as its the closest. About 25 minutes away
  9. True. I never knew why Toys R Us stopped doing it. So many people were upset in line last year. Tons of them had the ads from other stores only to realize once they hit the door that it said NO PRICE MATCHING. Luckily I had already found that out on THIS site! Another reason to love GottaDeal!
  10. I really recomment them too. My parents bought one during the after christmas clearances. I think they got it at Home Depot. This will be there first year of putting it up and the first year of no arguing on what strand of lights are out! I hate finding that one bulb that makes it go out!
  11. I hear ya. My best friend doesn't have much money as her husband left her (a whole story in itself). No support. Just skipped out. So my husband and I try to help out. She gets mad at us for buying so much, but its not the kids fault. Every cent I spend on those kids is worth it. Love them as if they were my own. Of course they stay with us every other week end so they mind as well. Haha

    How many...

Im half asleep anyway when I go out. haha. DEFINATELY not going to impress. Just find great deals!
  13. As long as the stores on BF give the deals, I will be there.
  14. Last year my husband and I jumped the gun and put up the decorations a week before Thanksgiving. Usually we put them Thanksgiving weekend. This site gets me going too! All the talk about BF and christmas in general. I may do it again this year! Heck, I've already wrapped and tagged what I've bought so far for my kids! Im on top of things this year.
  15. I saw her advertised at Walmart for $99. I just don't see paying that for a doll. I don't even think Im going the baby doll route this year. My daughter age 5 literally has dozens of them and most are in the toy box or on the toy shelves. 5 Cabbage Patch Dolls that were opened on last christmas (some given by my mom and mother-in-law). They are still sitting pretty in her room. LOL. Nice concept though, but pricey. A tad creepy, but Im sure she will be a big hit this year.
  16. Its so hard to buy for my 10 yr old (he will be 11 on November 16). Hes too old for toys. He even told me not to even look at them! he keeps telling me just to surprise him. Yeah right. Im at a loss. He loves the Tennessee Titans, but I don't want his whole christmas to revolve around that. He pretty much as the cd player w/ remote, Mp2 player, computer/printer (the works), Cd headset, etc. Im beginning to realize my husband and I have spoiled him too much in the past so now this christmas we screwed ourselves in finding something for him. Thats why I love those science kits at Toys R Us. Seem fun and educational. The only thing my son really said he wanted is a keyboard (nice one). We bought him an electric guitar last year w/ amp. My husband did say next year he is drawing the line on drums as he doesn't need to start his own band! My daughter is easy to shop for. She is 5. Anything girlie girl and shes happy. She loves Bratz, Barbie, Kim Possible, and Polly Pockets. Oh and makeup. I bought her a cute makeup set with lip gloss etc. Its adorable.

    Cut in line...

Its funny because BF brings out he worst in people. me included. Im usually the person who avoids conflict and/or arguments. BUT if someone would cut in line or shove etc, my mouth would be a running!
  18. I have to buy tons of toys for christmas every year. I buy for: My son My daughter My identical twin nieces My nephew My best friend's son and 2 daughters **BF is so important for this reason alone! With the great early morning deals, I can afford to get great gifts for the kids
  19. I must have too many die hard BF shoppers in my area. Literally, if you are not in line by 2am, you are at least 15th in line or more. One year at KB Toys, I lined up at midnight. (When Fur Real Cats were scarce and they had them on sale for only $20). Needless to say I though I would stay in my van until I saw someone, but 2 cars were already there doing the same thing. I decided to get out and brave the weather. Just as I walked to the entrance to sit, both cars emptied out. So alittle after midnight that year, 9 of us were in line. Loved that I decided to get out of the van as I was first in line! come to find out that year, only 15 cats or so were available.
  20. That is why I started to wrap now. 2 yrs ago, I started buying super early for christmas. I hid them in different places. Well I over bought as usual. (Norm for me). Anyway, the following year around my husband's birthday (april) we were cleaning out one of our hallway closests and what do I find but a whole bag of toys from Toys R Us that were supposed to be for my daughter! (Infant toys). Thankfully, my nieces were born so I kept them for that christmas. By wrapping now as soon as I get them and putting them in the appropriate contractor bag, I won't over buy (So much) and won't lose gifts!
  21. I found an unregistered version from Ebay (Windows Xp) for $50 buy it now w/ $2.50 shipping. Deals are on there, just keep checking.
  22. Im in Canton, Ohio (perry township and not the city though). I have never heard of any of those stores, but will check them out. Thanks a bunch
  23. My mom, sister, and I are going to spread out again this year to make sure we all get what we want at the different stores and to save time. My sister will go to one store-I'll give her $ and my list what I want there, etc. She will do the same for me then my mom. Its great. We all then meet to give our purchases to each other and share experiences then do lunch.
  24. The science toys at Toys R Us are for 10 and up. So older boys. Definately too hard for little ones. You must have the same age as I do as my daughter is in kindergarten. She has a summer birthday so shes younger than most in school. She just turned 5 in June. A lot of her class is 6 or is turning 6 this year
  25. My husband and I bought a 7.5' prelit christmas tree last year. We absolutely love it! No more swearing when you can't get the lights on correctly. No mess and folds right up for easy storage. Best purchase we made last year!
