  1. I was surprised to see so many nice items on the 90% off page -- usually it's all crap from last year or stuff no one wanted b/c it was too ugly (won't be working with THAT designer next year! ) -- but there's some pretty stuff up there, albeit limited in size options.
  2. I didn't check the perimeter thread yet but at Target today their boots and shoes ("winter styles") were 30% - 50% off -- got some seriously cute and warm (rated to -10) boots for next year for everyone; three pairs for dd, one pair for ds, one pair for DH and a pair of slippers for DS for near $50 -- the most expensive were DH's "duck" boots (zipper, not laces) for $14.98. Cheapest were the $3 slippers and then $4.98 boots (white "abominable" boots; furry, look like native american furry) for dd.
  3. We bought the $149 for two screens Emerson portable dvd player and have been "dually" impressed (sorry...bad joke). Seriously tho, the picture quality and sound are great, and they're so lightweight and completely portable, not like some of the ones I've seen that might as well be laptops
  4. I stopped into TRU on a whim, and there was NOTHING for $4.99...not even evidence that there was, at opening, a bin for $4.99...the lowest price games they had were $9.98, tho I suppose they might have scanned for $4.99 if I'd even thought any of them were worth buying..."Texas Hold'em" wasn't something I thought my son would enjoy...it was basically a bin full of crap games that no one wants, marked to look like a great bargain...whatever. Their crayola was buy 2 get one free, so that was pretty good deal I thought. (can you ever have enough crayons??!!)
  5. Ours was the same that was posted last week...came in Christmas paper along with target, home depot, lowes, kmart, best buy, compusa and all the usuals
  6. Well it wasn't just amazon -- target.com/FedEx had issues too...my BIL ordered a giant obnoxious and loud fire truck for my son, ordered two-day delivery on the 15th, and it got here the 24th around noon...had to listen to him scream every time he called...ugh...but then, when it got here, it came not on a fedex truck, but a Penske truck...weird. Maybe they had to rent some to take up the slack? Oh well -- we tried to hide the thing, hoping maybe we could take it back to Target and buy a big screen television or maybe a new car with the credit, but he insisted we open it so he could play with it...*sigh*
  7. Thanks!!! Appreciate all the info!!!
  8. I think I have a sunbeam, which is what my mom had for all those years (until someone gave her a kitchenaid!) -- I made the mistake of using it in england...on the "transformers" -- still not the same as 110v...probably 115 or *just* enough to kill the motor...as now it whirrs and then drops off and then whirrs again and then drops off...rrgh. When the house sells, I will go shopping...!!
  9. Thanks mstacks! It's good to know; esp since I'm not a big bread maker -- and don't know that I ever will be...*gasp* I love my breadmaker...lol! I've learned that I shouldn't spend umpteen million dollars "in the event I ever need that extra loaf of bread" because I'm just *not* that person...I'd like to be someday, but until then, I need to live within my means....LOL! Baby steps for this grasshopper...
  10. Must just be in the water here at Langley...they're vicious....like bloodhounds or something -- they take it personally. One woman (I was 9mos pregnant with a 2yr old in the cart) made me come all the way around the register b/c she couldn't see my ID card clearly from the end of the belt...then when I handed her my coupons, she incredibly carefully read thru each one, and then wouldn't take one b/c the last three letters of the fine print was torn off...if I could have hauled my big preggo butt over the belt I'd have strangled her right there...Doris. I STILL (almost 3yrs later) remember her name...rrrrrghhh... I try to go to a guy if I have the opportunity...(sorry boys, but they just scan...very rarely do they scrutinize; those and the teenage girls are pretty laid back too) Thanks for the info! Now, can anyone recommend good grocery coupon sites?? LOL! I can't wait to print that out and take it in with me...he he...
  11. I'm not sure of the differences, but I know that I've seen the "classic" kitchen aid (I think thats' what they call it) for around $160...what's the difference -- sounds like this one might have one more bell or whistle than that one? (incidently, Kohls is where I've seen it that low...lol -- been debating on should I get it or not...I really dont' use mixers that much, but maybe I'd end up a better mom if I had a decent mixer??!! )
  12. I thought the commissary didn't take printed out coupons? Just the "real" (traditional) ones...have they changed that or is it up to your individual DeCA folks?
  13. I was just discussing this with friend who argues that why buy/pay for a Tivo subscription when you can just torrent what you want to watch? No commercials there either, same scenario, watch when you want, pause, repeat etc.
  14. I have to disagree with the blue text there...people like you and I that look for good deals online, always try to save a little here and there, even if it's a free bottle of lotion -- we won't have that $500 at Christmas time...but the folks with the disposable income (and there are MANY of them) have the money, but not the time to stand at Best Buy and fight for one, kwim? I think there's plenty of money out there for buying junior the coolest gift in town...just can't get away from the office long enough to actually lay hands on it... -- which is where folks like you and I come in...
  15. They offered me the $10 Kohls cash at 11am... too bad I only had $38 in the cart...lol
  16. Ditto -- and I hate how their ads say ONLY the percentage off, not the price you take the percentage off of, kwim? 50% off 14.99 for a pair of jeans is great, but if it's 50% off a pair of $55 jeans, well, I can find better at any number of stores...don't just tell me 50% off, tell me what it's off of!!!
  17. so this is weird -- two hours ago it said "processing" and now it says "processed" -- all looks normal...wonder if two hours from now it will say "cancelled!!!" -- lol
  18. I couldn't find that part on the site...but I noticed how quick they were to mention it...lol It just seems to me that if your site advertises a sale price, and you order and get a confirmation, they should honor it and suck up the error on their side of the coin, kwim? Ok, so the website was wrong...but screw the customer b/c of it?!
  19. I ordered the bike trailer the other day thanks to someone posting it and got this email tonight... Dear , Thank you for your order with sears.com. 20. Man, I already have one of those (just used it tonight!) -- but what I'm really wanting is the new higher-on-one-side sautee pan (makes flipping stuff really easy) -- thanks tho -- always looking for cheap cookware!!
  21. Must be you -- lucky dog! I tried a care bear at 12:30pm and it was $14.99...SUCKY!! LOL!
  22. My DH got to WM at 4:30-- he said it was mayhem...he got the dvd dual player set, but they ran out of gameboy advance when he was 10 back in the line..he took his stuff, went to pay, and some woman in front of him (with three small kids in tow... ) aske if he got everything he wanted -- he told her what happened and she gave him her extra one! He said he was dumbfounded, b/c everyone seemed so hell-bent on themselves. There were fistfights and the cops showed up...(he didn't know why, something about bumping carts turned into shoving, turned into full blown fistfights) -- I got there about noon to grab milk and you wouldn't know it had been a sale event an hour earlier...
  23. Hey Labgeek, Did you put in the yorktown wm or is there one up there? That's where I'll be...maybe I'll see you there...LOL -- I'm closer tho...I'll save you a spot in line...
  24. Ditto! my parents are older, too much "stuff" and don't need anymore -- they like to eat out, and this is awesome esp since we're far away..still not sure where to spend the tickets money...LOL!!! PS _- my restaurant of choice said it was "out of stock" but no indication of when they'd be back in stock, etc...so I called them direct, the restauarant manager said he'd call and get back with me within the hour...so I guess I'll find out!
  25. remember to delete your cookies before "re-searching" -- airlines use cookies to see what your recent searches were and will price accordingly...I read this in a financial newsletter a friend of mine was writing freelance... if you're searching for discounts online (esp for flights) clear your cookies. if you found a deal on tues and then go back on fri to see if the price went down the website will use your cookies to see what price you've previously found and will take you to that one (usually) rather than a new price which may be cheaper! this is why sometimes 2 people can be looking for deals and one will find a deal and the other cant...its related to the cookies...so delete them after every discount search...
