My DD Sandisk MP3 player that I got her last BF is still going strong and she still loves it.

Our HS Marching band does 4 parades in November/December. Our outdoor concert arena does a "festival of lights" that is really fun to do and it's so pretty. Here's a kewl tip ... wear 3-D glasses if you go out looking at Christmas lights .. they are so kewl when viewed thru the glasses. More sparkly!

How about a personalized books on tape .. meaning a book that is read by a family member? does the retirement community provide her food? If not, a gc to a local grocery store is a good idea. Or a gift card to her local pharmacy? A new pillow for her bed, or a warm bathrobe or even a "bed buddy" one of those microwavable thingies that are great for body aches.

The problem with KB Toys is that their doorbusters are usually stuff that the other stores don't carry. Back in the day when TRU price matched, that's what I always ran into ..

You can also buy the footwarmers (like the ones for your hands) for your shoes .. they come with a little sticky strip to attach to the inside of your shoe ..

If you check them, they can be wrapped, but it doesn't mean that they won't be opened if the all powerful TSA can't figure out what they are. If you're going to ship the big ones .. ship everything. Less hassle for you. Last year, my sister wrapped and checked all her gifts .. half of them were destroyed by the airline and she had to rebuy almost everything.

I've decorated soap before for the holidays. It's so easy .. I simply buy some of the glycerin soap and then hit the craft store for the kind of transfers that you rub on .. I did some Santas and other holiday designs. I then wrapped the soap in saran wrap .. they turned out really cute!

Well just to let you know that not all the stores will participate. At the one by my house in Smithfield, NC, the lines were huge from 11pm until like 3am. The larger stores like Gap, Banana Republic, Geoffrey Beane, Yankee Candle, Eddie Bauer and Ralph Lauren were open .. some of the small stores were not. If you need clothes .. then it might be worth it .. but last year some stores had a wait time of 1/2 hour to one hour just to pay ... and god help you if you needed to try anything on .. I think this was the 3rd year for our outlet mall to run the midnight madness.

I did this last year and OMG I have never seen so many people shopping at 1am. There was a line to get into most of the smaller stores, and some stores checkout lines were like an hour long .. was it worth it ??? oh yeah .. the entire Banana Republic outlet was taken an additional 40% off everything! Yipee for me!

TRU actually stated on the front page or back page of their ad that they would not be pricing matching. I had to give them credit for that .. A fews years I was checking out at Target and asked about pricematching. The cashier didn't know, so she grabbed the manager and asked him. He looked at me and said "no price matching on BF". I ended up leaving everything that I was going to purchase behind .. I was so po'd.

Well last year, TRU actually ran their BF prices on Wednesday for some items. And most of the items that they have for BF you can get online on Thursday or after midnight on Friday. I very rarely have to get into TRU on BF cause I shop online with them. Now that they have broken off of Amazon .. I wonder if that will change ..

I avoid this store regardless of the deals because of their lack of crowd control. The mall should only allow them to have XX amount of shoppers in the store at one time IMHO .. fire hazard waiting to happen

last year our outlet mall opened at midnight on BF - so I hit there first. Banana Republic had 40% off the entire store - including clearnace. I think I left my house around 1am and returned around 10am. But I came home with my Christmas shopping completed!

I usually do my TRU shopping online Thanksgiving day. They in the past, have had almost all the BF specials available online on Thursday. You just have to pay attention to shipping charges. Some other stores have started to do that as well too. I think Best Buy & Circuit City had special online sales that were valid on turkey day.
