  1. Definitely, I save all receipts and encourage the Grandmas to do the same. If I shop early and know i am going to save It for Christmas then I have them mark it so I have no problems with returns.
  2. Why be traditional ask everyone in your family their favorites and be sure to have those things. Mine want candied yams, collards, deviled eggs, potato salad, succotash, ..... I cook for two days but after Thanksgiving I do not cook again until Monday.
  3. I use to take my grandma Christmas shopping, then I did her shopping for her. This will be our first Christmas without her. I am sure there will be a few tears along with all the fun. If you still have a grandma enjoy any time you have together, you won't wish you had done less with her when she is gone.
  4. Our Wal-Mart handed out maps last year so we knew where everything was located. They were organized in that way, but they need a starting bell or something It gets kinda cracy at about 5:55!!
  5. I will do cash until it is gone then the debit card if I really need a few more things, and the charge at Kohl's because they will give me another 15% off. I am not sure how much yet--it will depend on the deals.

    A new baby

When my boys were little we got them Cabbage Patch baby boys. They wanted to be like Daddy. They liked them and played with them, but by the time they were 3 or 4 they did not wantit anymore. If you can get one for 10 at Walmart go for it.
  7. Some one had one of the video rockers on sale. I would also think a radio controlled car, skates, a scooter, sports related items, or a pogo stick. Most of these are on sale BF. I didn't see the pogo stick but TRU has the five dollar coupon. My cousin's son is eight and he also wants a metal detector. He might also enjoy one of the portable DVD players and some DVD's. Hope that get's the ideas flowing!!
  8. Hungates also carries Thomas. We have one in the mall here.
  9. Walmart also has Thomas the train, TRU has a foldable trike, K-Mart had a bowling set, and quite a few places had good deals on Leap pads. It really depends on what stores you want to hit first, and of course your budget. The bowling set is only 4.99 and the Leap Pad set was at Kohl's for about 50.00.
  10. Wal-Mart has one listed for 99.00 but on-line there is one for less than 70. What is the difference? It is not in the scanned ad so i am not sure-- can some one please help me!!!!
  11. I think you should do it. It would be fun!! Before you give them the gift how about telling them why you are thankful for them.
  12. I have six kids to shop for so my list would take me all night to type. I will tell you that I want the flip phone, a doodle bear, and the gameboy from Target, but even I do not know everything I will buy yet.
  13. For what region are the ads posted and are major stores usually the same? I will not finalize mine either until after Thanksgiving dinner. While I finish cooking I let the kids look at the ads, and show me things they might not have thought of wanting. Then everyone leaves me alone and I plan my day. I write down item numbers and everything so I can price match first. I am glad we have a Wal-mart Supercenter. If I could finish my list in 30 minutes the ads would have to be terrible.
  14. I can't pick yet, I still want to see Office Depot, KB Toys, Lowes and Circuit City ads. Who knows what great deals are still to found.
  15. I callled and asked their price adjustment policy. she told me I had 14 days from the date of purchase. I asked her, "What if it goes on sale the day after Thanksgiving?" She said bring the receipt in during the sale time and it would be adjusted.
  16. If you only have 300 and you agreed not to use credit then take the 300 redo your list and have fun. You may want to ask him to explain to you why there is such a drastic drop in funds, so you will understand what has happened to the money. My husband and I do not charge either- with one exception for me and that is Kohl's. I only use it if I get the extra discount and then I immeadiately go pay it, so I don't know that really counts. Kohl's sent me another coupon for 15% off and it will be good on BF. A week ago I had bought items then the offered the discount and some of the items were dicounted more. Originally I had spent about 300 but I took the receipt in asked her to refund it and put the items on my charge. She did and I paid the charge off and still had $110 left. More money for BF.
  17. I did a search for Catos in the 2004 forum but nothing matched. I called our local one and she said they would not be having any special sales that day. Maybe they will do something online.
  18. I would like to know too? My daughter likes their clothes. I wonder if it would show up in last years forum? I'll go check.
  19. I would go to Walmart if it is a supercenter first because you may be able to price match everything you want from Best Buy, Target and TRU. then I would head to Sears
  20. I just called the Chesapeake Va Target, as long as your receipt is within the 14 days they adjust the price!! Guess where I am going tomorrow? Do any other store have tis policy? Sears maybe?
  21. Leave the gifts wrapped, put numbers on them and pass them out.Throghout the party play Christmas music. When the music stops exchange gifts. You could do this a couple of times, and maybe narrow it down by letting, a few people open theirs, just go by the numbers.
  22. My 2 year old wants one of those Check-up Elmos, so that is first.
  23. You could also have various family members purchase some gifts wrap them and play 20 questions with the gift. The gifts could be anything and good for different age ranges. If there are some musicians in the family you could play a version of the old game Name that Tune, just play Christmas music. At a lot of baby showers they play a game where they put a clothes pin on you and then you can not certain words like baby or cute. If you say it then someone hearing you takes the clothes pin. Maybe change it so people could not say gift. A version of pictionary- you could make cards with Chrismas related items and divide the group into two teams. Make sure the kids get to draw and quess too.
  24. My husband laughs at me for leaving the house so early in the morning with so few hours of sleep ( I'm not telling him that I am leaving earlier this year) He laughs for joy when I get home, show him the stuff, and tell him how much I saved.
