She sounds like my SMIL, she buys most of her own stuff for FIL to give her and would do the same thing.

I am thankful I do not have this problem and rarely have to do any returns. My MILs (I have 2)The SMIL will look at my lists for the kids and ask me what she can get in their budget, then ask me if I will get it for her and she'll pay me. MIL sends money for me toshop, they get more if you do not have to pay postage. My folks always go by the list and are great about getting one of their higher priced items on BF. It is sad that your son will be disappointed with gifts from the family, especially since they have the budget to get him something he will appreciate. Personally if I ask for a list I use it, or like a PP will get a gift card for a specific purpose.

I would like the Criquet machine ( I like to scrapbook ) I think I would be upset, my family knows you do not go in my purse or look at receipts. I usually get them things they ask for but I love to add in a few surprises too.

You brought back pleasant memories of my DD now 19. She grew up in the midst of 4 brothers and always wanted toys like them. We bought her radio contrl cars, footballs baksetballs etc, she did not want dolls or Barbies. So because at that time she was my only girl I would try to find these items in girly colors.

Ok I called the music store again and they said that the guitar shipped 2 days ago and they think it will be here at the end of the week. I called another music store and they have none in stock and not sure about getting one. I think if the guitar comes that will be her Christmas, if it is not here by the 23rd I will buy her a laptop for Christmas.

Since Dh stopped celebrating Christmas last year, and some of my kids are grown I am having to readjust and change the way we have done things for years. Change is good though and I am trying not to dwell on the past Christmas Eve: I am not sure about the day but at 5 pm I am going to my parents church for their Christmas Eve service and then to my inlaws with my children to have pizza and exchange gifts. Christmas Day: Big breakfast and watch DD4 play with the toys we will leave out. Then when the rest of the family arrives we will opwn presents and it will take most of the day. I think there is 12 of us this year and we open one person one present at a time.

My mom and I each got a Nursing Home angel. We are so excited about doing something for the elderly. Their request are simple and sweet.

No library close, and we recently had a friend put in a new hard drive so I really do not know if it is fixable. The guitar is still not in. I started shopping for this back in Oct. First music store ordered it and never called me, second music store calls me but they do not have ityet, recalled first store and they do not have any in (they sell fast) and the guy is suppose to check and call me (like I believe that one) I am almost done shopping but this has me frustrated.

One of my DSs is 16 My mom got him a digital camera,(which is osmething he really wanted) and she is doing a wallet with GC to places he eats at when he travels with the school basketball team and a gas card

Do a craft gift basket, Go to Micheals or a store like it and put in all kids of things. Scissors, punches, glue gun, glue sticks, stamps, ink pads, threads, etc.. a gift card to the store too Do a personal basket body washes, soaps, lotions, manicure kit, polish, gift certificate for a pedicure, hair cut, a small massager, candles etc.... A digital picture frame with a sd card full of good pictures like what you used on the calendar She sounds like the kind of lady who appreciates you thinking of her so I know she will love whatever you decide to get her.

I give gifts to all the kids in the family on both sides and I feel like I am buying gifts for people I do not know sometimes. I did buy gifts for one person this year that I am not fond of but I am trying to be nice

Kohls has game tins for $4.99 I would call the store manager and ask if he or she can give you an extra percentage off since it is a charity (can't hurt to ask) Coloring books, slinkys, or yoyos, would be good fillers. Don't forget the Target Dollar spot too

The guitar she wants is a Seagull six string acoustic. She plays for the nursing home ministries at her school and sings in church. The school is super super small but it does have a computer lab however they are strict about times of use. Maybe since her dad does not celebrate Christmas I can justify the guitar and then she can tell him she needs a laptop. I had a two or three year warrenty on it but it is expired.

No advice I just hope you get one of them in time to do your shopping.

I love surprises, so I can wait, but I love to give hints to the kids (I make it so bizare that they never guess). Dh has stopped celebrating Christmas so he does not get us anything and I do not get him anything. I told one of my Ds's tonight that I might need help wrapping and he said that he charged 10 an hour. I told him I could return some of his gifts to cover the cost:D
