DD19 has asked for a guitar for the last few years but I could not afford it. This year I plan on getting her one, and I am waiting for it to arrive (was suppose to be at the music store 11/17, not here yet) Today she called from college to say she is having major trouble with her laptop (3 or 4 years old from BB on BF) I am debating about calling the music store and saying forget the guitar so I can get the laptop. However, I really want to give her the guitar. I wish I could do both but that is not going to happen. What is your opinion??

I recieved two really cute ornaments today. One was a pretzel and on the back it gave a legend about the pretzel. DS16 thinks it is great, because we usually have those pretzels in our freezer. The other ornament is a fruit cake. I am actually one of those people who like fruitcake(my mom makes a really good one--not the store bought kind) Thank you so much for your thoughfulness!!

Thank you to my Secret Santa, the box was from Elf Drive or Lane North Pole, so just the box was fun!! Inside I found an adorable light blue stocking with a snowman on it. (I collect snowmen) and inside the stocking was body wash, body spray and bubble bath from BBW. All three were Sweet pea which is a favorite, (My DS asked me how do they know your favorite mom, I told him good shoppers just know!!) Then I also got a beautiful red tea light lantern from IKEA. Thank you again Secret Santa!! I love it and will use it all!!

Interactive Globe for 8 yr old
shopping mom replied to lelee24's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My DD is 4 but she loves our regular globe and atlas at home. She can name the continents and the oceans so I got her the Leap Smart Globe at Kohls on BF with the sale price and my 15% off coupon it was under $55 so it qualified me for $10 in Kohls bucks. I don't see it online but you may want to see if they have any left at a Kohls near you. -
70% of all Leappad Books at Leapfrog.com (ends 12/18)
shopping mom replied to lakisha78's topic in Online Hot Deals
I had to call them but I got 7 books, and the free video for less the $29.00 shipped. DD is going to love it. I got 3 books for my first leap pad (our house) and 4 books the regular leap pad (grandmas house) Thanks OP -
A pair of PJ's with wrestlers on it. ( I know you would have to get boys but I bet she would like them.) Or you might find a poster with wrestling figures on it for her room.

I know the ornament arrived that I sent but how do I check that the SS arrived?? I am still looking forward to receiving mine. Next year I want to do the cards too.

The Dollar tree is great for checkers, and chess games, cards, puzzles, crossword books suduku books, and search books. You could even buy packs of pens or pencils and split them up to do the books with. Walgreens is great for cheap candy, and the have those pastic chrismas cups at 3 or 4 for a $1.00 sometimes that you could fill. It will be great to hear what you end up doing. Have Fun!!!

My cousin ordered some things from them too. Item 1 was a preorder and they cancelled it. They said it was out of stock, she did find it last night in a BM store. She ordered another game and was sent the wrong one. they said she could return it but the one she ordered was no longer on sale and she would have to pay full price. Like you she is not happy. I don't think you should have to pay for their mistake. Call back and keep asking for a supervisor. Maybe someone can do something.

DD4 made the gradmas Aprons with her handprints on them and she wrote grandma on it with a paint pen, she also wrote I love you on it. I got the aprons and paints from Micheals using the 40% off coupons. When my kids were little we would take them to the dollar tree to pick stuff out for grandparents and then they would "wrap it" these were sometimes really strange but the grandparents loved it. Other suggestions: a pretty throw, BBWs, gloves and scarf (if it is cold where you are) Coupons for yard work or other chores you or DH are willing to do for her. A nightgown, pjs or robe.

Need gift for single brother--Food?
shopping mom replied to fulkersonm's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
If he likes fruit you can get some great oranges or grapefruits shipped from Florida. DH's grandmother sends them to us every year. -
I agree that you should give him the Wii, not because he has been good, but just because he is your son and good or bad you love him. I would tell him that too.

Nascar - Tony Stewart Bday Party stuff?
shopping mom replied to zadyju's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
All I found were some plastic pennants for !9.99, but you could use those and then use the car colors for the plates cups and napkins. One website had a giant cut out of the driver. You could also use the generic nascar balloons. Gift bags could be solid colors and write with marker the number 20. Games if you can draw or trace could be a picture of the car and do a version of pin the tail on the donkey, but use a tire car number, instead of dropping pins in a jar you could drop matchbox cars into something. -
This is the first Christmas that we have had DD4's cat (rescued from a shelter) I have bought him a few things over that last few months but he does not get excited about new toys or the snacks. He loves to be petterd though, and to chase yarn when dd pulls it for him. So no gifts or stocking for him, but he has a good home and DD4 loves him.

I hope they fix this for you. I think you got a bad cashier and manager. -
Once again impressed
shopping mom replied to mom2maddynsky27's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I think you should call corporate and praise this particular manager. Not all TRU's have people who are so organized. Glad you got a Wii too!!!
