I think they stopped their affiliation with gottadeal last year when they posted their ad early. Brad, is that right?
-
Ohio taxes you on everything they can think of as much as they can get away with
-
It's a very fine line that has to be walked in regards to the ads because Brad has an affiliate account (I think?) with Walmart and can't risk losing it. That's how this board remains open year-round. (and some of us need our fix all year:))

1. More pre-Black Friday Sales like Walmart has done in the past. 2. When they do hand out a map of the doorbuster locations, make sure the item is in that location in the store!! (Our Walmart is BAD about not putting stuff in the right place) 3. Don't let ANYONE have the doorbusters UNTIL the specified sale start time!! (Last year one of the managers at our Walmart had his wife in the store and was going around getting the stuff for her that they wanted around 4am. This caused a big uproar, because when they got into the pjs, everyone decided to get them and by 5am, they were all gone:() 4. LOTS of the ad items :) 5. Put items in the ad that people actually want 6. Make the sales IRRESITIBLE!!! (cheap prices!!) With the economy the way it is, the cheaper the price, the more I will buy!! I will probably spend more money if the prices are good (impulse buys and stuff I wouldn't normally buy but will because it is cheap) 7. I agree with bringing back layaway, even if only for a short time period.

Stores like Walmart should put the bigger items like tvs up front so you don't have to try to push a cart through the store to get it to the checkout. I know a lot of people use carts anyway especially if you are getting a lot of items, but if you put a tv in your cart, it is nearly impossible to see over it to push it through the store It would be much easier if they just had them at the front of the store. Another thing that would be nice would be for stores to have wi-fi available. I know a lot of you in larger cities can get it around town but for those of us in small towns, there isn't any available and it would be nice to be able to get online and check out gottadeal to see where the deas are being found

None, and I'm really disappointed

If it was me and I really wanted that snowglobe, I wouldn't take any chances (since they are closing ome stores now and maybe more soon) and buy it fo the current sale price. JMHO....

Toys"r"us announces 2008 hot toy list for the holiday season
guilliam replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2008
I'm not surprised to see the Fisher Price Spike the Ultra Dinosuar on this list. That thing is awesome!! We bought it for ds6's birthday and he LOVES it (and so do i ) -
I contacted the local newspaper [email protected] WHIZ News (local NBC affiliate) via contact form on website The Coshocton County Beacon through website Our county fair starts this weekend and I plan on stopping at the paper's booth and speaking to them about doing a story, they have done similiar one's in the past. I stressed the fact that the economy is bad and www.gottadeal.com is your one stop shop to finding all of the deals and helping the consumers save money this holiday season since I believe that will be the hot topic this year. Gottadeal posters find and post the BEST deals out there!!!

We have decided to spend less this year even though since dh got a new job and works a ton of overtime we have more money. We just normally spend too much and go overboard with the kids.
-
We bought ds18 the ipod touch last year from target.com when they had 10% off any purchase and free shipping. Best deal I found on one.
-
I already work full time and since dh works swing shift, it's just not possible for me to get a second job since I need to be home with ds6.

My ds6 saw the new Jordan Dentros on the Jordan site and has ben waiting for them to come out (they are the ones with the yellow(maize) ). We received the eastbay catalog yesterday and they are in it FINALLY but not on the website so I called them and they told me they won't be available until 9/30 (hope she's right cause ds6 REALLY wants these shoes because of the yellow :))
-
Do you know when these expire? The shoes ds wants come out on the 30th of this month.

My cookie recipes are simple: Pillsbury or Nestle pre-made cookie dough Sometimes I even let the kids use the cookie cutters and cut the sugar cookies into shapes Sorry, I couldn't resist! But I'm really not a baker and this way, at least I know they are edible!! I do make my own no-bake cookies though (and LOTS of them as they are the favorite around here!!

Our Walmart has them, I saw them yesterday.

You probably won't find the ipod touch on sale on BF. Your best bet is to look for % off sales online. We bought ds18 one last year from target.com when they had the 10% off anything online and free shipping. Or you can order it directly from apple.com and get free shipping and engraving. But order it early if you can. Especially if you want it engraved cause it takes longer.

The parking is my major concern We're small town folk and I HATE trying to find parking in larger cities:yuck: Finding it shouldn't be a problem, I'll just use my GPS. Do you know if there is a better day of the week to go as far as it being busy? Do you think it will be less crowded before Thanksgiving? Thanks for the info!

We used to have the same problem with dh's family. He has a LARGE family and we would buy something for everyone. DH got laid off one year (temporary) and we just called his grandma (his mom is unreliable) and asked her to let everyone know that we would only be buying for the kids because of it. It worked out great. Now, we don't buy for any of them (loooooong story).

Check www.gottadeal.com as often as possible for updates

If you are going to be using a debit card for the majority of your purchases, Keep some 'emergency cash' with you just in case the store's cc machine/network is not working so you don't miss getting that doorbuster you want. With all the shopping that day, the network tends to get shut down or move really slow that day. Carry a small bag with just what you will need with you to keep the risk of theft to a minimum. If it's not a doorbuster or a hard to find item, come back for it later. No need to waste time when you could be on to the next store to get the next deal. And as others have said: GET THERE EARLY! :)

Just a thought, but for those of you who hide items in the trunk of your cars, aren't you afraid of your car getting broken into? This happened to someone in my town last year and that thought has just stayed with me so now I don't leave anything in my car overnight (even though we live outside of town in the country)

We ended up just buying it @ Gamestop because I had a $25 giftcard for there from e-rewards. I guess Rockband 2 is only out for the xbox 360 right now? At least that's what they told me Jarerice: They do make Rockband for the Wii, but it doesn't seem to be coming down in proce any:(

I know there are a lot of gottadealers in and around Ohio and I was wondering if anyone has ever visited the house from a Christmas Story in Cleveland? We have been wanting to take the kids for the last few years but every year something has come up that has prevented us from going. Well, I told dh that this year we ARE going since it may be the last chance we get to go as a family. DS18 wants to go away to college next year, and I'd really like for him to go with us since we have always watched it together as a family since he was little. So for those that have been there, is there enough parking available? Is it hard to get to? Any information you can give me would be appreciated :) TIA!!
