  1. I still saw the DST as well...on Sunday...so I went into user CP, settings all seemed correct, then time was correct right after that. I didn't change anything.
  2. ...Great!, now for the low price of $5.99, you too can own a dvd that is all scratched and won't play in 95% of DVD players
  3. I saw a bunch of boxes almost 2 weeks ago in the Lawn & Garden section...they looked like Christmas decorations, trees, lights, etc.
  4. My cat likes to lick plastic grocery bags...drives us nuts. We reuse them as liners for small garbage cans around the house, so we sometimes get woken up in the night to a bag-lickin-kitty.
  5. A water spray bottle was my first thought, but then I thought about the lights! Be careful Try taking scotch tape and put loops of it all over the bottom of the trunk. That's what people do to keep the cat off the table and countertops...they hate the sticky feeling of the tape.
  6. Check the label to see where those were made.Don't bother if they were made in Taiwan...only buy them if they were made in Japan. There is a difference in those Sony blanks. I saw a 50 pack with a 25 pack sold as a bundle @ Sams Club...The 25 pack was MIJ, the 50 pack was MIT
  7. Here are some quality blanks, you should stay away from the cheapo discs if you want the data to last :) Verbatim 16x Single-sided DVD+R 100 Discs @ Amazon $32.59 shipped RiDATA 8X DVD+R 100 Pack @ NewEgg $21.99 + $6.41 shipping Verbatim 16X DVD+R 100 @ NewEgg $19.99 + $6.41 shipping after $14 rebate TAIYO YUDEN 8X DVD+R 50 Pack @ NewEgg $23.99 + $4.99 shipping
  8. OR, he may want to buy 2 of these for $212 total
  9. I have seen much better prices than these. Is he dead set on WD? http://www.buy.com/retail/Product.asp?sku=202524232&SearchEngine=NexTag&SearchTerm=202524232&Type=PE&Category=Comp&Gad=0&dcaid=15894 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136052&ATT=22-136-052&CMP=OTC-17exta6 http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000FS4OCW/nextag-ce-20/ref=nosim 2 more :) http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=202418917&adid=17662 http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-WDG1U5000-Essential-Drive/dp/B000EXRSVM/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_0/002-9538204-3232027?ie=UTF8
  10. Yes, bad part was, it snowed on the next morning so there wasn't any trace of them at all. Wife and I were outside taking stuff down, and I asked her...did you already get this and that...she was like. Umm, NO! It was then we called the police. When the officer came out, he asked us how we even knew something was missing, since there was still so much out there. It's all good, whoever got the stuff, will get what's coming to them eventually :) Our tastes have changed anyway...most stolen stuff was hard plastic decorations, we now set up those blow-up nylon types. Those are what many people use around here nowadays.
  11. We won our neighborhood Griswold competition in 95. But in 1997, we were robbed on New Years Eve & lost about $700 worth of decorations. We got lucky tho, as I mistakenly left our garage door open after backing in. They never entered the house, just took Christmas stuff outside. It just hasn't been the same since then.
  12. They always have them in IL & WI this time of year as well. Also, I have never had a cashier say no to me when I bought something with one, even if my kids weren't with me.
  13. That sounds about right, but it's too early for me...glad I have an MP3 player to drown it out @ work. Bah Humbug
  14. My SIL works at a Sears Grand in the toy dept (used to be a Kmart). On her day off, they got in a shipment of 24 Elmo TMX...one woman bought 22 of them...the other 2 were already bought by store employees. SIL was a bit mad @ the toy dept manager for letting 1 person buy 22.
  15. Why? You have a half sheet of paper...use priority tape only along the edges. :) I then put some scotch tape over my return address, the receivers address and the numbers of the delivery confirmation only. You shouldn't tape anything over the barcodes, as the scanners have trouble reading it then.
  16. Use Priority tape to tape them on...that is, if you are sending it via Priority mail :)
  17. If that is true...just ask your mailman for a forward card...there are coupons inside the pack, but they do change the coupons inside quarterly.
  18. My credit union still pays only 0.25% on savings. I believe this has stayed the same for a few years now!
  19. TYVM!!! I like the idea of texting for a phone# to GoogleJust type in the name & location you want the # for and send a text message to this # 46645 (GOOGL) for example: TYPE...Days Inn Kenosha WI RESULT... Local Listings: Days Inn Kenosha 12121 75th St Kenosha, WI 53142 262-857-2311 7.0 mi, W Days Inn Waukegan Gurnee 3633 N Lewis Ave Waukegan, IL 60087 (2/2)847-249-7778 11.6 mi, S Riverside Days Inn & Suites 3700 Northwestern Ave Racine, WI 53405 262-637-9311 11.5 mi, N My text message costs only 5¢ ...which beats the $1.25 they want for a 411 call on my cell...even beats the /minute charge I pay for the minutes! I jotted this all down on a small piece of paper and tucked it inside the cell phone case :)
  20. I saw a 512 SD card @ Sam's Club a few days ago...was $17 I think the 1GB card was just under $40 They had a 256 card to, but I don't remember the price. Their website has free shipping on select sd cards.
  21. Point the phone @ a mirror?
  22. Ummm, don't you have to buy them? If not...I am switching to TracPhone!
  23. Another way to save is to buy an older edition of the book...they are revised often but may contain very little new material.
