My wife went to a Meijer store with our SIL and put their names in a raffle. You had to enter the drawing between 8-11PM, and be present @ 12:01 AM to win. They had 15 to sell, My wife's name was drawn! We didn't want one, and our SIL really did, so she gave it to her...after SIL paid, lol. -

I KNOW that some employees do that, even though they can get in trouble for doing it.

I have a 25 pack of RiData DVD+RW that I have used over and over for almost 2 years now...I bet the top of the pack has been re-recorded at least 20 times, and they still work perfectly. Looks like I have about 980 more re-records left on them :) http://www.osta.org/technology/dvdqa/dvdqa11.htm Disc Longevity How many times can a DVD-RW, DVD+RW and DVD-RAM disc be rewritten? As is the case with other optical storage media using phase-change technology there is a limit to the number of times the recording layer in a DVD-RW, DVD+RW and DVD-RAM disc can be reliably switched between its crystalline and amorphous states. It is estimated that a DVD-RW or DVD+RW disc can be rewritten approximately 1000 times and a DVD-RAM 100,000 times. In addition, these formats (under certain circumstances) employ defect management schemes to actively verify data and skip over or relocate problems to a spare area of the disc.
-
I use DVD+RW's for that..hopefully they last longer than VHS tapes do when you tape over and over.

Here's some reading if you want some ideas as to why you shouldn't buy cheap no-name media. I have bought free AR dvd's before, and I use them for storing data for short periods of time...nothing that I really want to last. I stick with Verbatim & Sony (made in Japan) for what I want to last.

If you get a prepaid cingular...you can call other cingular customers w/out using minutes, but that prepaid plan charges a $1/day access fee each day you use the phone with that plan (10¢/ minute) The other cingular prepaid plan is 25¢/minute with no daily fee but you DO pay for all calls, even to cingular customers.

Mine is too! :) I always got clothes for my Bday, toys for Christmas. I never felt cheated.

My 4 year old boy has had the L-Max since he was 3...still plays it daily! He has been very rough with it and it still works...make sure you have 4 AA rechargeables (make that 8) or the AC adapter to play it...It seems like I am charging the batteries daily, as he will not put the thing down. He rarely uses it connected to the TV tho.

The boys bought their Mom a pair of pajamas 1 year...so I had them wrap the jammies after they were laid out completely flat...and said "you'll never guess what the present is". The boys got a kick out of it anyway

Yes...Looks like a good way to keep the cat out :)
