Well, I just e-mailed W*lm*rt again. I hope they are getting REALLY tired of us. Perhaps they will soon regret their rash decisions in regard to the BF sales ad.

I have been checking the other BF sites (shame on me, I know) and they have been voicing the same concerns as us, but not quite as loud as we have. I have started posting on them, calling for solidarity in our complaining to W*lm*rt. Perhaps, if we all band together, we can send a strong enough message to them to make a difference.

I love this thread! Just the thought of the yearly round of full-contact shopping has me excited!!!

Post BF ritual: Items needed: 1 goat 1 machete Just kidding! I normally sort through all the items... yule gifts for others, yule gifts for my wife and myself, and things we bought for right now! :) Then we have lunch and pass out for a few hours before going to Thanksgiving dinner # 2 of 3.

Yeah, so far the EBGames sale seems rather (if not incredibly) pathetic.

I think we need a 12-step program for BF...

For me, BF is a time of hanging out with my friends (aka shopping buddies), and also a time to get some of the things I really want for Christmas and can actually afford! I also like the rush of getting the ads before anyone else at home or work and showing them off to people... and letting them have copies. :)

Well, if we look at the dates in question, and not the stores, we are on par from last year. The third ad came out last year on 10/25 and this year we have already had 3 leaks. I just wish Walmart & BB would hurry up and get leaked! lol

I visit gottadeal at least 10-15 times a day. But my therapist says we are making progress.

This exact situation almost happened at the WM I was at last year. *pats his laptop* There were about 400 of us in line to get our hands on one of 16 total of these babies! Well, about 10 minutes before the doors opened, a group of 30 or so people came up and started making small talk. I didn't say anything at the time, but when the employees came to open the doors, they pressed forward, and we started screaming and threatening them, and the employees formed a human chain at the door to keep them out.

I think it's a great idea. I plan to bring a couple of sharpies... go down the line from time to time, get to know the people, and see if I can mark them so they are able to keep their place in line. Hopefully it will work out.

I will probably be in line, along with my shopping buddies, at around midnight. Possibly earlier if I hear about lines forming early for the really hot items. Yes I'm insane, I freely admit that

I have a couple of contacts in the stores, and some on the Geek Squad as well. They've been snooping around for me and hopefully I'll get something back soon.

At this point it is just rumor, of course, but I have been doing some searching around and chatting with people, and the current topic of interest is Best Buy... supposedly they may have a Portable DVD Player for $39.99, no rebates, with a limit of 10 per store. I will keep in touch with my sources and see if I can get a confirmation.

My experiences with BF have been that people are rushing to get stuff, but if it's already in someone's hands, then it's off-limits. However, I would not be opposed to cracking someone upside the head with my choice product if they were trying to take it from me. :)

What I found works really well is what I did last year when I stood out for five hours waiting to get WM laptop and it was about 0 degrees out. Go to walmart a few days ahead of time, and pick up 2 of the mylar emergency blankets from the camping section. Put on jeans or whatever, then wrap one of the blankets around your legs, then put on some sweats. Wrap the other one around you like a shawl, holding the ends down at your hands, then slip into your jacket. I swear, people around me were getting frostbite, and I was sweating!

There might not be an ad scan yet. I remember a lot of deals that were listed for last year, and ended up being true, we simply had to wait for someone to actually get their hands on the ad. Besides, even if these end up being fakes, there were only a few decent items in the list, and it's got us all thinking about BF.

This is not good. For an ad to come out this early? NO!!!! Now, here I sit at work, thinking of the possible deals, and that BF is still 13 weeks and 2 days away! (
