  1. $378 laptop from Wal-Mart. Also managed to watch some poor get trampled in the rush of crowd behind me while I held and petted my laptop. She was alright though, just a little shook up. I also got the new Trivial Pursuit: Book Lover's Edition and LOTR Trilogy Edition DVD Trivial Pursuit from TRU. Went to Sears to wait in line for the gift card. Got there at about 5:45. They had already passed out the cards, and the people who got them went to their cars to get warm while we all waited in line because we didn't know. About 10 of us let the management know that it was BS and that we were taking our business elsewhere.
  2. Dayton, OH: High 36 F Low 21 F "Few Snow Showers"
  3. When I spoke with a Wal-Mart representative a couple of weeks ago, they said that there we NO restrictions on lay-away, and it would still be the usual 10% down.
  4. I'll hire a dog-sled if i have to
  5. Oh hell yeah! Laptop's $378 about 25 miles away from me, but $488 at the store in my town. I'm willing to spend $5 in gass to save $110! lol
  6. Things to do while standing in line: Pour water in hand, make sneeze noise, throw water on back of person's neck (Amusement Potential: 5-15 minutes) Always a good gag. For an even bigger reaction out of the person, act like you're not sorry at all for what they think you did. Comment instead on how big that sneeze was or about how there was a lot of mucus in that one. Stare at the back of someone's head until they turn around (Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes) This works on the "I have the feeling I'm being watched" principle. Conduct an experiment-does this really work? LMAO just a few suggestions to help with boredom.
  7. Hmm... perhaps I should move my arrival to midnight lol
  8. I'll be in line at the non-24-hr Wal-Mart at approx 2:00 AM
  9. Perhaps we should change the thread name to WM Laptop Prices?
  10. Semi-official Ohio report: A friend of mine was at a Wal-Mart today in Dayton, and the flyer said $387 for the laptop. I will be confirming tomorrow afternoon and reporting as soon as I know. :) If it's true, Hallelujah! Christmas is saved!
  11. I need to explain my post a little more. It almost looks as if I am prepared to steal from others to get a laptop. This is not the case. However, I will maim anyone who gets within 3 feet of the laptop once I have it in my hands. :)
  12. I have seen this happen before, as I have worked a few BF's in retail. *shivers at the very recollection* I will be at Wal-Mart to get one of those laptops, and if I have to commit a couple of assaults to get it to the checkout, I will.
  13. Have it shipped to either India or Tai-Wan.
  14. nothing in my paper either I guess I'll have to go up to Wal-Mart and get some answers from the management. lol
  15. I'm working on the cloning thing... if I have any breakthroughs, WE will let you know :) lol
  16. Yeah, looks like most of us have had to sneak in the back way to find the forums. :)
  17. I hope the $398 price includes Ohio... if not, then my whole BF plan is shot to hell.
  18. I'm going with the wal-mart laptop for one reason and one reason only: Lay-away! I hate being almost broke! lol
  19. My recommendation would be to go to Sears first. They are the only one on your list that has a gift card for the first XXX customers. Get the card, get in, get out, and head to Walmart. I would go to BB last, as, even being doorbusters, they will have butt-loads of dvd's in stock, so you'll probably be able to find them even after the initial rush of BF shoppers. I'm in about the same boat. I have to go to Wal-mart to get one of the laptops, then off to sears and praying that I'll be one of the first 200 customers. After that, I don't have any more doorbusters, so I can shop at my leisure. Good luck, Josh
  20. Looks like it will be mostly cloudy here in Ohio with a chance of rain... 46 for the high, and 27 for the low. However, I welcome the rain, as it will drive off the less-than-obsessed shoppers. :) A little pneumonia never hurt anyone!
  21. Actually, I think it may be 100-packs... I know it was a rather largespindle , but I didn't look close. lol
  22. I'm not sure about BF, but right now Big Lots has 50-packs of DVD+R for 17.99
