My son is 8 and he loves Star Wars, Video games, Yu Gi OH, and he likes to play with his leap pad. Anything we can do together is always a hit be it a game or a science experiment of some sort. He loves those fly wheel things that WM is having for 5 dollars.

Christmas eve we always go to my Grandparents house (which is now my aunts house since my Grandparents both passed) and open all the loot there and I make a lasanga for everyone. Then we come home Son gets ready for bed puts out the cookies and coffee (santa is not to into milk plus he needs the caffine) and he goes to bed. Then in the morning he opens his gifts and plays with them and I make big dinner that night. Of course this year with Christmas being on a Sunday we had to push back my aunts house because my uncle from NJ is a minister and he has to be at his chruch for Christmas but hopefully we can do it the 26th.

Nope I don't wrap them.

I made my haul at Kmart last year. I got my son a ton or costumes and props and he loved it. He is still playing with them to this day. Plus I got him a really expensive Harry Potter Outfit for Halloween for .99 I love clearence! LOL
-
I think that the sales after BF are better at TRU. Also Kmart will start having there weekend sales on toys too. They usually run a few really good deals only on the weekend. last year I picked up Bratz for 6.00 a piece.
-
Oh yeah but then you can start getting excited for next year! After BF and Christmas then I can hit the clearence sales which is just as much fun without the mad people knocking you down and pushing you around.
-
I do little toys that I have picked up through the year and some candy. I don't like to do alot of candy because then he will bounce off the walls the rest of the day! LOL You 8 year olds might like a magazine subscription. I know my son is really into getting mail and loves to get magazines. You can find cheap subscriptions on line if you look around. You can just stick the magazine or a card saying what one they are getting in the stocking.

I am already done! I will just have to wrap my BF haul.

Unlimited cash, first in line pass, unlimited quantities of everything I want, and the stamina to shop all day!

Black Friday isn't black friday without PRICE CHECK!!! I never seem to get out of all the stores without those words being uttered.
-
Usually the sale stuff is on pallets throughout the store. At my WM the manager comes out about half an hour before they open and tells you where everything is. SOme give out maps. Usually all the big stuff like bikes and power wheels are in the garden center. If you put something on Layaway they will give you the sale price during the sale hours just watch the totals closely.

If you are going to be at a party I would not get them the fly wheels. Those things take off like a rocket and someone will get hurt! I would recommend some books or maybe coloring books then you can open gifts and the kids can color. You know all these kids get so many toys for Chirstmas that they will not miss the toys and the parents will really apprecitate something quiet!!!

On my father's side we have a Christmas Eve party. I buy all of the kids something. This year they are all getting glove and hat sets. And the adults I usually give something I made. Last year I made homemade Cocoa mix and chocolate spoons They loved them. This year I am making everyone my Grandma's Chocolate Cookies( she is gone now and eveyone loves the cookies and misses them) and Grandpa's Peanut Butter Fudge (also Gone and boy do we miss that fudge!)

My WM is about 25 minutes away. Then it's on to the mall which is about another 25 minutes from WM
-
Iwould say it would depend on what you want from which stores. If you wanted things from Sears and Kay Bee toys first and they where in the Mall head there. It's up to the person shopping.
-
I give my teenage Cousin McD's gift certificates he loves them.
-
I try not to go to far over board. I usually buy one big item and a bunch of small stuff that I have been collecting all year. Some years I forget what I have bought and when I pull it out of the closet I can't believe it! This year has not been bad I haven't gone to far overboard for my 8 year old. The 15 and 16 year old step kids are getting cash. I don't know what to buy them any more and everyone loves green!
-
I wouldn't stand in line for McDonald's! Nope I worked there for 2 years and there is no way I would fight for that stuff!
-
My WM dosen't bother to mark things back up so they would have to let you put them on Lay Away if the sign is still up that has the markdown price. And if anyone told you different get a mamnger because that is WM's policy if it's marked with a sign they have to honor it.
-
last year WM had some of the Friday Saturday Sunday deals already marked the sale price on Wednesday. I picked up a few of my bigger items that day and was able to hide them easier.
-
my son is eight and I think I'm going to try and grab a Gameboy for him. Plus anything Starwars and he is good to go. I have two stepchildren also ages 15 and 16. They are impossable to buy for so I am going to give them each a Walmart gift card and take them shopping.
-
December 26th for me. I pick up stuff for the kids all year round. I'm always in the Christmas frame of mind!
-
How about a little secret santa. Everyone draws a name before BF and you have to get a BF item for that person. It would be fun to tell the horror stories of getting the gift for them.
-
I organize my list in the order I'm going to hit it. I make a list of the items I want to get including the price matching items (make sure you write the store name next to the item) I take my ads to the store and get my stuff at checkout I have all my PM ads ready and it usually goes very smooth then on to the next store.

Man I can't believe some people are that crazed. I have never had anyone take anything but if they did it would hit the fan!
