I'm not a walmart manager but lets just say I know the answers to your questions. Why do some WMs use tickets for those things and others don't? Management usually has final say and they setup what is best for their store. I was told at our walmart that we where not able to layaway and bf products. Is this policy or are they just making this up? On BF, sure you can but the prices will most likely go up, well a lot of the items do not change. If I was you, I would avoid layaway, that place will be a mess. Hide the gifts at a friends place instead. I am wondering if I can go put an item on layaway within the 30 day period prior to BF then price match it down to the sale price on BF. For instance, I go in and put in item x the week prior to BF. On BF, the ad states that item x is 100.00 cheaper during the "Blitz" hours. I go to layaway and ask for them to mark it down to sale price as I would with any other layaway item that went on sale during the 30 days proceeding me putting it into layaway. Sure you could but layaway on that day is setup for putting items on layaway. Most of the items on BF are one time buys with unique UPC's and not a normally stocked item even though it may appear to be currently on the shelves. To the manager of a Walmart.....How do you think you guys will handle the jeep for kids that will be on sale for $79? Its a huge box and I know I won't be able to lift it on a cart and still shop! Im trying to figure out how to buy that by myself and still get other deals on BF! They will probably be on pallets. Bring a friend and have them push a cart. They cannot hold an item for you while you shop. Its a free for all! So if I put things on layaway say this weekend, including some of the things that will be on sale during the Black Friday blitz hours (if I can find the exact same item in stock right now), I can go back in during those hours and show them my layaway receipt and the ad and ask them to reduce the price of my items, and still keep them in layaway until I can pull them out (or the time is required that I pull them out, in like MidDecember I believe our store said). And if I get in line to have them pm yet I don't get up to the counter before 11 will they still pm for me or not? And for them to price match something you have on layaway it has to have been put on layaway within 30 days of the ad you're trying to pm, right? Does this sound like I'm getting it? Read above a little. Layaway will be crazy and they won't want to be doing pricematches really. Each store may vary on this actually some. A manager might tell you that you would have to have them out of layaway by the time the ad expired at 11am or they might say to just go ahead and do it. My question is, will I be limited to just one laptop on black friday? As a manager, I'm wondering if you have an inside track on how they'll be handling the distribution of the laptops on that day. My strategy is to have one person on the layaway line and two of us shop, but we need 4 laptops. Will they tell me I can only get one, even if I let them know I have people with me throughout the store shopping? It will probably be 1 laptop per person but it really depends on how many walmart gets at each store. This is the fairest way. Distribution will vary from store to store. Might be a ticket system or just a free for all. Even better question for the manager who probably regrets reveiling that he is a manager... Let's say, instead of putting items on layaway you purchase them outright a couple of days before bf. Then you take your items and the receipt back in on bf. Can you return your items for a bf price match? Sure you can but most of the items will have unique upc's and are not available on store shelves.

I usually spend $500 but it's pretty much open to anything as long as its a good deal.

Got a suggestion on what they should do then for stores open 24/7?

23 New Dell Coupons Starting Thursday & Friday Mornings
amdskip replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Anyone feeling generous can donate a lcd towards a dual setup for me:) If I were to get a 2005FPW I would surely need another to match it. -
I really don't think there was any. All I did at work last night was move this black Friday stuff around and nothing looked like it wasn't in the ad.
-
I have an actual phyiscal card for $20 off a $100 purchase, do you think I can use it this Friday? "must be met with purchase to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies" This line worries me but depending on the cashier I think it may work.
-
Nope and I work at walmart! If I am working that day I probably won't have to go into work until 11 and I should surely be done shopping by then.
-
Last year staples was encoraging shoppers to use their in store kiosk to order items that were not in stock or sold out. Best Buy sells out the fastest IMHO. I went there one time and it was insane and not really worth it although I did manage to grab my first Acer 8x cd burner before some guy grabbed it and it was the last one on the shelf.
-
I will find out the sale items this coming Saturday when I go home for break and check into work. I am pretty sure the ad is accurate though.
-
Most Black Friday items are stored outside in storage trailers or in garden centers. I'm sure there are differences in the ads and when I go back in less than a week I'll be able to confirm stuff. My store manager got this ad sent to him but he has responded to me about it yet.

I'm hoping a Staples ad will show up soon:(
-
The store will not receive the ads early in most cases. The warehouse employees will have a very good idea of what will be there though. I usually know what the ad has in it before our store manager. He found the ads on the internet last year himself I guess.
-
Walmart guy here, not sure if this is the list but it looks like it very well could be. I'm sending it to the store manager right now.
-
Yup, they seem to do a better job each year. I work for the "big retailer" and the store manager always comes to me asking what the deals for the store will be because they do not get the ads early. Sure they can tell what some of the items will be because of what is coming in off the trucks but it's pretty hush hush stuff.
-
I plan on going to Staples. I will be in the top 10 in line and I pretty much always get everything on my list. I bring my brother along and he guards the cart for me while I dive in the mobs of people and grab stuff. I will also be going to walmart and sears.
-
Last year Staples employees were encouraging shoppers to go to their web kiosk in the store to order items that they had run out of.
-
Is this a for profit site? How do you even make money?

Cool info, go gottadeal! We gotta figure out how to get RossMAN outta debt;) -
Walmart doesn't close if it is a super walmart. They just bring the pallets out wrapped in plastic. Last year we had so many computers that someone stupid stacked them right up next to the radiant heaters in the ceiling and started 3 of them on fire. They had to be stacked about 8 high and we had to get the top ones off as they were on fire.
-
I enjoy it. I know walmart's deals before my store manager does and that drives him crazy. Last year he got smart and actually found it on the internet a couple days after I had the information.
-
My first time was at a Best Buy probably 3 or 4 years ago. I got there like 15 minutes before it opened and by the time we found a parking spot there was like 2 minutes before it opened. I wondered around with some others close to the door and ended up jumping into the crowd and getting pushed right on through. I ran to the burners and go my first cd burner, an Acer 12x burner. That thing fried itself eventually but I was so happy to finally have a burner.

Looking for the staples ad. I was 5th in line last year and got everything on my list. The best buy's in this area will be way too busy as they are the only electronic stores in the area, no compusa, frys, etc. There is the Fry's in Joiliet though, 2.5 hour drive, would it be worth it? hmmm
