Nope, they would not. Walmart is a product mover and that is how they have low prices. All of these extra services cost man hours, trailer rental, etc. and it won't be happening.

Lots of MAC fanboys in here. I am obviously not one of them. Too expensive for what you get and I don't need to spend money on something that dumbs a computer down to protect me. Give me firefox and let me fly. Ok enough of that. Yes you should be able to easily find a computer, heck even a dell core 2 deal by then. I highly suggest getting a normal size tower for a couple of reasons. One is for expansion even though you may never do so. The other main reason is heat. The smaller the space, the hotter everything runs and heat kills electronics. This is the same reason I shake my head at people who buy a laptop and let it sit on their desk because it makes no sense at all.

I will call it that it will never happen. I know firsthand how much of a money pit layaway is. Now if walmart charged $5 a layaway then maybe they would break even. The amount of storage space in the back room and then the container rental along with employee wages just doesn't all add up.

I have it off, college employee.

Fabrics is being elminated/reduced where possible because it is a service department meaning it requires a human to cut material. Walmart does not care about providing service, they just want to stock items and move them out the front door. Some items do take longer for a new store to get but it depends if they are a warehouse or assembly item. Warehouse means it will come straight from the warehouse and there should be no delay. Assembly comes from the manufacturer to the warehouse and then to the store.

*** Official *STAPLES* What Time To Get In Line Thread ***
amdskip replied to DramaQueenLucy's topic in 2007
I usually get to staples about 90 minutes before they open and I'm within the top 20 in line. -
I'd be skeptical of any RCA tv. They are one of the most returned brands.

Every store has their items laid out differently. Grocery action alley is a popular area for items to be located. I kind of doubt any supercenters close, they should all stay open.

A good deal at sears is 20% off. I believe I got 20% off all of my appliances from there.

Vostro 200 Mini Tower Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor E2140 (1.60GHz, 1MB L2 Cache Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz - 2DIMMs Dell 19 inch E198FP Analog Flat Panel Monitor 80GB1 Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache™ 1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty2 with Next Business Day On-Site Service3 I've setup a couple of these and so far I am fairly impressed. Dual core with 1gb and windows xp w/19" lcd is a very good price. These are basic no thrill systems without all the normal extra crap that I hate. The lcd's are nothing special. The build quality isn't spectacular but it's not bad either. Overall you can't beat this and no one could build a computer this cheap from scratch.

That's walmart for you. I'm sure there are plenty of walmart workers watching gottadeal (waves at them, hi). I'm a happy former 6 year associate and couldn't be happier to be away from the evil company.

I will pull many monkeyshines without looking hinky while wearing my luxurious gottadeal t-shirt pushing people out of my way.

Layaway closing has not hurt walmart like everyone is thinking. By getting rid of layaway walmart is doing it's part to help teach American's financial responsibility. There's no reason to have the system.
-
See the problem with having such a huge company is that policy enforcement can be hard thing to do.
-
Layaway affected some sales but the expense that goes into layaway will be tons of $$ saved. IMHO they do not make enough off the layaway sales to break even with all the costs of running it. You people have no idea how much of a pain layaway is and how much the storage of all the merchandise costs the stores.

They sure got everyones attention so they probably deemed it a success.

Yeah there won't be rainchecks for these. It was a one time deal. Sounds like supplier issues to me.

You should have just looked at the truck list and you could have easily seen what was on the truck.

RCA was the #1 returned TV during my years of employment with walmart.
-
Yeah I wouldn't buy that. You should be able to get a brand name tried and true one for $10 or less more. Durabrand = walmart crap made by whoever would make it the cheapest
-
They could have a deal on one, who knows. Lots of times something like a camcorder is an assembly item and not normally stocked in the warehouse. This means it can take 4-6 weeks or longer to get it in stock. I highly doubt walmart would pull to prevent price matching. Walmarts goal = move merchandise

Yeah, mom is right. Rollbacks won't be happening.
