Just spoke to 5 different managers at WM's around me
amdskip replied to megnsamsgrace's topic in 2006
Pretty much every item will have a unique UPC # as Gporter has stated. Walmart is not technically supposed to PM an item even if they are the exact same with different UPC's. -
Yes it has to be a pre-release ad. I am 99.9% sure that the laptop that they should have will be a unique UPC # on BF. You won't be able to pricematch with the BF price even if they are identical specs unless you find a stupid manager or something.
-
Most likely it will be a similar laptop with a different UPC so a price change will most likely not work. Almost all BF items at walmart have unique UPC's.
-
Staples and mildly curious about walmart
-
It's just walmart policy and it has been this way for a long time. People used to get really pissed when I told them that we wouldn't match a price.
-
Northern IL here, Lo 28°F. I've froze the last 3 years waiting in line at staples.
-
Well if Walmart was smart they would have a late sale because of the amount of money they lose price matching competitors. This way everyone would hit the competitors up first.
-
I would never buy a TV for BF from walmart, cheap cheap cheap and they've been handled like the crap that they are.
-
Of course the stores are gearing up for the holiday season but it's too early to be getting BF items in already. Most BF items at walmart have a unique UPC and are not the same as the items carried everyday on the stores shelves.

Wonder if Wally World will do another Lap Top this year?

The website is totally different division of walmart and this is why. It's also similar to how walmart will not pricematch another walmart store. -
Wimp, I stand for 1 hour + every year in front of Staples:)

Thanks, the gf got some stuff which directly benefits me!

Scrabooker's Delight - Large kits (3 of them) start @ $5.97

Thanks, my gf will love this. -
No best buy ad in our paper.
-
The cashier should have done the match with no questions asked because it was such a little $$ difference. I am biased but I like walmart over kmart. I've never been in a nice kmart, they are always run down with about 20 different shades of yellowed floor tile, etc. I do work for walmart btw.
-
Of course they are sold out to hold them for tomorrow.
-
This is correct. Laptops should be $378 at pretty much every walmart.
-
I'm off school all week long. I am however working at Walmart 5 days for 40 hours.
-
It says $488 for the store I work at for both. I spoke with management, they really do not know how much the real price is going to be yet. They have heard that there are 8 items that will be priced lower than what the ad price currently is at and the laptop/desktop should be part of this. Our store only got 10 laptops though.
-
No, to walmart that is considered a fake/gimmick promotion. It must be a flat price across the board to match.
-
FYI: Most items on sale at walmart are not the normally stocked items on shelves right now, they are usually a 1 time deal with a unique UPC number.
-
Cwilliams, you are partially right. Blitz items are not ordered by management but normal items can and are ordered by management. Corporate controls everything about Blitz. I am going to check into this the next couple days to see if I can get any real information instead of all these rumors.
-
Well if you think of things from walmarts standpoint, leaving the stores open makes sense. People will be browsing and buying items not on sale driving up sales. Walmart of course would like to have enough items for everyone to get what they want but that is not possible realistically. People will buy normal priced items to make up for the small margins on the blitz items.
