  1. At the stores in my area the Store Pickup is in the very back of the store where, in the old lay-away place and the restrooms. No one is EVER back there. You have to "push the button for assistance" and pray to the good lord above that an associate comes to help you.
  2. Gosh, I guess it would be my sister. I struggle with her gifts(s) every stinking year. She rarely wants anything in particular and can't even come up with things she wouldn't mind having. She doesn't cook, has no hobbies, doesn't collect anything, doesn't need anything for her house. I gave her a set of Huggable Hangers from QVC one year and another year a scrapbook I made of all of our trips up until then. To date, I have yet to top those two. I always give her a gift card for her Birthday so don't like to repeat that for Christmas if I can avoid it.
  3. Oh gosh, I'm so far behind. I haven't bought a thing and don't even know what I want to get for everyone, except for myself.
  4. I'm glad to see them say they will have more people available for Store Pick-up. I got burned with that more than once last season. Between waiting 30 minutes for someone to show up (not even the manager could help me) to taking a month for an item to arrive in store after being guaranteed in 10 days. Yeah, that was the last time I did Store pickup, whether "same day" or "ship to store". Remains to be seen if I attempt it this year
  5. LMBO!! That just made my day. Can't wait to get my free candy came......I'm wondering if I can have a candy cane per number of people ahead of me in line?? Even in the stores in their home base of Bentonville, they don't open all the registers! I've been in them all in that area.
  6. Cowboys fan here too! However, I've never let their Thanksgiving Day game stop me from shopping. My family lives in a very small town and only have a Walmart, Dollar General and Family Dollar so the majority of my shopping is online anyway. We usually watch parts of the game before and after the Walmart BF shopping run. On a side note, If Jerry Jones was smart he'd leave Dak Prescott as the starting QB if/when Romo is healed.
  7. The weekend before Thanksgiving, if not before. I'm always out of town Thanksgiving weekend so I love coming back home to a decorated house.
  8. Best Buy, Kohl's, Walmart and Target.
  9. I want one of those hatchimals myself!! Yes, I'm an overgrown kid!
  10. Cheap movies and TV seasons for me. I've got a Kindle, a nook, an iPad, an iPod and a Bose Bluetooth speaker so I think my electronic gadgetry inventory is ok! Lol I'm always on the lookout for deals on everyday household items so that's a possibility too.
  11. Yes to the stocking stuffers! And I was able to work my Angel Tree gifts around the daily toy deal. Win-win all the way around.
  12. I love the cartwheel app! I never go to Target without checking the coupons. I've saved $162 since starting in 2014. And agreed on the deals here. Very interesting and I'm sure they will get plenty of my money during the season.
  13. Go for it! I'm 45 years old and still get a stocking each year. The fun of pilfering through that stocking never gets old, even if it's filled with practical, everyday things. For years I've known what my Christmas gift(s) will be but the stocking stuffers are the one thing that still remain a surprise and I wouldn't trade it for anything! LOL
  14. DD: Fun colors of Nail polish, some of the cute "cardboard-like" nail files, hair ties/bands, flavored lip balm, lip gloss, travel size hair products from Target (they have a pretty good selection of higher-end travel sizes), Bath & Body Works hand cream, gum, Altoids minis, non-black/blue ink/gel pen, fuzzy slipper socks, gloves, a pair/pack of the wildly colored no-show socks, makeup and/or brushes DH: Mini flashlights, mini screwdriver, a good ink pen, funny/silly pair of socks/tie/boxers, yo-yo, pocket-sized notebooks, mini bottles of liquor (if appropriate for your household), new pocketknife, fun/nerdy USB drive, golf balls, grill seasonings, toothbrush, razors, travel size toiletries, bag of favorite coffee/hot cocoa, batteries, hand warmers if he works outdoors, gloves,
  15. Great ideas! I may use one of these for my father. He sure doesn't need another golf gadget, coffee mug, tshirt or Keurig accessory. If you come up with any more ideas please share!
  16. I've ordered early from Kohl's the last 2 years. It is definitely worth checking into.
  17. Oh my! Fossil has smartwatches now? This just might make me want one now. I love their regular watches.
  18. Thanks for the codes. I'm so ready for this sale. Already have an online list started! I can usually get everything on my list and use the 20% codes early in the week since I rarely want/need any of the doorbusters.
  19. Reusable shopping bags, drawstring backpacks, list pads, travel bottles........all great ideas!
  20. My family loves this for breakfast and throughout the day, with or without the cheese. I actually make it year round for myself. Hint: I've had trouble in the past getting the bottom layer of crescent dough to cook once the filling is in there so I started cooking the bottom layer first, while cooking the sausage and cream cheese mixture. https://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/sausage-and-cheese-crescent-squares/f2b22bde-19e4-4447-aa99-30e90ee5a38f
  21. I don't envy you.....Mine is the 15th so there were some years I barely got a birthday party......such as they were in the 70's and early 80's. Still having trouble thinking of ideas for the gifts I have to buy......hoping inspiration will hit now that the weather has cooled off a bit and it feels more like fall instead of the dog days of summer.
  22. I don't remember when I started my shopping but I remember as a child my mother always going out on Friday, in the 80's, well before it was called Black Friday. I eventually got recruited to stand in lines when it became impossible for her to be in more than one line at a time and still get what we wanted/needed. That was probably late 80's/early 90's while in college. So, some 25+ years later we are still going strong with the BF shopping. Tradition dictates our first stop be the local Walmart and sometimes it's our only stop. Although it is definitely not the same as "back in the day" I still have fun at Walmart. Maybe it's something about a small southern town Walmart. I don't know. I've stood in many a Walmart line and have always had a blast. We've never experienced anything bad other than seeing those darned sheet sets fly through the air one year after the display was opened. That was a hoot. Otherwise, we're all a big family while standing in line waiting for our items or to get checked out.
  23. I think I will have to buy a new one as well. Skipped it last year hoping mine would make it another year. So far, it's holding it's on with good days and bad days. Lol
  24. Bought 3 pairs of wireless earbuds at Best Buy two weeks ago during their anniversary sale! Got them for my mother, sister and myself as that is the one thing we all 3 said we wouldn't mind having. I was so excited to find them at 50% off. Not sure we will wait for Christmas to have them though so I need backup plans.
