  1. Same here! I was trying to add some things to my Black Friday wish list so it would be easy to get them to my cart when the time comes but I could not log into my account for nothing. I finally gave up and will try later this week.
  2. I have a Dot but do not use it to it's full potential but still love it. I'll try to answer some of your questions as best I can. You do not have to have the big thing. I only have a Dot. The big thing has a better speaker for music so I understand but I listen to my Pandora and iHeartRadio on the Dot and am fine with the sound. You can order from Amazon via Alexa if you set voice purchasing up. I think there are Alexa shopping only deals daily. I don't think Prime is required to have an Alexa device but may be required for the shopping aspect. Not sure about that. It does work over your wireless internet connection. I've had no issues with mine losing connectivity. It does require the use of the Alexa app. You use the app to set it up and manage those settings. You can also browse her skills and enable/disable from there. It will link to a Google calendar, Microsoft calendar (Outlook, Office 365) and reportedly an Apple calendar. I have mine linked to my Google calendar. The music comes from Amazon music If you are a subscriber, a linked Pandora account, linked iHeartRadio account, siriusxm. It can be paired to a Bluetooth device as well. If you set up your location, she can give you weather, movie times, things nearby. She will notify you when an Amazon shipment is scheduled to be delivered and when it is delivered if you set this feature up, The main thing I use her for is reminders, weather, and timers. I'm a huge fan of the timer function, especially when cooking. When I was sick a few weeks ago and had a schedule of times for medication I simply told her to remind me in XX hours to take medication. I have apple products and Amazon prime. I felt silly talking to her when I first got the Dot last year but it doesn't bother me now. The skills I use mostly are the relaxation sound skills when I'm trying to nap during the day. My mom and dad are in their mid-70's and she is seriously thinking about getting a Dot for them. My elderly aunts both have one as well. I think the Target audience is anyone with a smart phone that might get a kick out of it really. If I am wrong about anything someone please feel free to correct me. Like I said I don't use it to its full potential but I find it very useful anyway.
  3. Hands down, Balsam Fir or anything that smells like a real Christmas tree. Cinnamon would be next but I'm pretty picky about cinnamon scents. There is a difference from candle to candle or spray to spray......
  4. I haven't stood in a line very many times in my life to get into a store but one year I did at Target back when Friday morning opening times were the norm. We stood in a line for an hour and a half. It was cold as heck down South and the line was wrapped around the building. We got what we wanted then had to stand in a checkout line that snaked around the store. No thanks and never again. For a few years we went to Office Depot for printer paper but only had to stand in a line there less than 30 minutes. Now the worst we do is stand in the checkout line at Walmart on Thursday night waiting on the registers to open, usually about an hour to an hour and a half early. Someone parks themselves in that line and the rest of us, or just me, go gather up our stuff. We are lucky in that the Walmart associates at the store I'm at let people get in the pallets early for the most part and we never need a ticketed item.
  5. Thanks for the info! Sounds like this is something I would enjoy.
  6. I really am interested in the Echo Spot but I’m not sure there will be any pre-Christmas deals on that since the release date is December 19. May have to wait until sometime in 2018 for a lower price on that. Otherwise I might be talked into a Phillips Hue starter kit for my table lamps. Those of you that have Hue bulbs......are they worth it? I’m only looking into a 2-bulb kit at the moment unless a 4-bulb kit turns out to be a better deal. Can the bulbs be programmed on a schedule? If so, can they be done differently? I guess my main thing is to be able to keep up the appearance of someone being home when I’m not. And of course the lazy factor of not having to raise up off the sofa or bed to turn my lamps off. I’m all about the lazy some days. What happens when a bulb requires replacement? Will the hub recognize that or is there some sort of process to go through?
  7. Hope to do mostly online but that’s dependent on Walmart “doorbusters”. It wouldn’t be Black Friday weekend without post-turkey lunch shopping there though
  8. I need more ads to look at before I can formulate an opinion. So far I’ll be getting the usuals from Kohl’s whicj I don’t mind at all.
  9. This wasn't on my initial list to shop for but lately my old iPad 4 sure is getting cantankerous and so slow so I might be in the market for a new iPad if the price is right. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to find one less than $299 which is what Best Buy has them priced at now. I only have 16GB storage on my old one so would be nice to see an increase in that as well.
  10. Have you had the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake itself?? So good.
  11. Put my Christmas music back on my phone last night since I'm going on a road trip this weekend. I usually wait until Thanksgiving Day to start listening but the mood may strike while driving down the highway in 80 degree weather.......again.
  12. mmmmm Paula Deen recipe. Automatically sounds good.
  13. LMAO! Huge problem for me, especially if I dare to look at them in the store before the sale.
  14. Congrats to the winners! I can't wait to try some of these recipes. They all sound so yummy.
  15. Mine appears to be brand new or at the very least barely used. The only signs I could find that it wasn't brand new was that it wasn't packaged like the brand new bags are. The strap had no plastic wrap on it but some of the hardware on the sides is still wrapped. It came still stuffed, with all the accessories and a dust bag but there were no D&B tags attached nor a product registration card which was not a deal breaker for me at all. Buying "as is" is definitely a risk and when ordering you are prompted to acknowledge the limitations of it and a card is included in the package as well. You are still under the QVC 30-day return policy though. So at the very least you are only out shipping charges both ways if you return it or just one way if you managed to snag free shipping when ordered.
  16. Love mine too! It’s so easy. The only thing I have to worry about is plugging in my tree topper. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  17. Depending on when my November paydays fall, I will use mostly cash and the store cards. If payday falls after Black Friday weekend then it's credit card/store cards combo. I have $23 built up in Savings Catcher to use at Walmart. Yay! I also have a Red Card tied to my debit card so hoping to take advantage of that discount depending on the Target ad. In the next few days I will make any changes to my preferred payment method at Amazon and Best Buy and update as appropriate. I will check and double check that I have those cards in my wallet for the CV number when asked online.
  18. Those throws are the bombdiggity of throws in my opinion. The are big, they are soft, they are warm (but not too heavy) and they wash up well. I've never had a huge problem with pilling and fuzzies after washing either. Some reviewers on Kohls.com say they do but I've not experienced it to the degree they are complaining about and I have several in my house that have been laundered routinely. I'm 5'10" and can cover up from my chin to my toes with room to spare if I want to actually tuck my feet in without curling up in the fetal position. LOL, I buy at least one new one every year for myself and others for my Senior Tree gifts.
  19. I love Dooney bags and that Key Lime color is great! I just bought myself a new one from QVC last week. I’ve been waiting on the perfect “As Is” bag and it finally came through. Spending that much for a purse boggles the mind but I love it.
  20. The Big One throws from Kohl’s for sure! Those are the best things. I have way too many to be considered practical for one person but I buy them as gifts as well. They really messed up when they started having prints. I find at least two prints every year that think I need to have. SMH I also load up on the $14.99 bras at Kohl’s and the last two years I’ve replaced all my bakeware from the Kohl’s ad. From Best Buy I always get the latest season of Big Bang Theory on DVD for $10. I’m going to try very hard to resist those dastardly cheap DVDs at Walmart this year.
  21. My mother usualy. Sometimes my sister will go with us.
  22. I really need more ads to look at besides Kohl's. I think I have that one memorized now.
  23. LOL! And I load up on those bras every year. And the fuzzy throws.
