  1. I love this time of year when everyone starts putting out their seasonal scents of whatever product you can think of. As of now, I'm on the hunt for holiday scented Dawn Powerwash. There's supposedly a Cranberry, Pine and Pumpkin spice. I can't do anything pumpkin scented because it gives me a massive headache, so It's cranberry and pine I'm looking for. I tend to enjoy the spiced cider/apple-y scents much more for fall. As for Christmas scents, I do enjoy most of the traditional Christmas scents, except for a Sugar Cookie scent. I don't know what it is about that scent in candles and other things. Too fake maybe? I do love to smell a good sugar cookie baking in the oven though.
  2. I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom. It's hard to carry on holiday traditions after losing your matriarch but my family managed to carry on many of the same traditions my Grandmother held dear for many years after her passing. I was grateful that we did that!
  3. meh football team here too. It's hard to be a diehard fan as bad as our football team has been for the last several years. LOL
  4. Happy False Fall/Summer to all! Football is back and I’m here for it! I’m so ready to be done with hospital stays and the heat. I’ve had yet another stay last weekend with another procedure with no conclusive determinations of a cause to my issue. Lordy be, it’s so hard being on “the other side” of hospital work when you spent the majority of your career in the trenches. I know too much it seems. Anyway, on the road to recovery from this latest procedure/treatment and going to use my time off work to recuperate and recharge my mind too. These last 3 months have been mental whiplash for me.
  5. Well temps back to being brutal again and again, I, in the hospital for yet another health issue. This summer can just go away please and thank you.
  6. Is it winter yet?!? I’m so over these excessive heat warnings we keep having. I’m old and fat and can’t take the heat anymore.
  7. Happy Independence Day! Hope everyone has had a fun and safe holiday so far!
  8. I feel this in my bones but for me everything started falling apart healthwise after 50, and mostly within this last month. Hospitalized 4 days for possible sepsis, critically low potassium level accompanied this. CT scan revealed a lung nodule that I’m now following up on with a surgical oncologist. Waiting on insurance to approve a PET scan. Still having issues getting my potassium levels back up to a normal normal level. It’s finally at a “low normal” but I would prefer it be a bit higher. Prayers for a normal biopsy for you.
  9. Finally getting some time off work in July and it can’t get here soon enough. I’ve had only one day of scheduled PTO since Christmas due to various work issues but it’s finally my time. Off for 3 days this week and then in two weeks I’ll be dipping my toes in the sand of the emerald coast. Woohoo!
  10. Happy June everyone! The nasty hot finally made its way to TN. It’s awful and just miserable here today.
  11. Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I spent the week prior in the hospital so need,Ed’s to say I rested up all weekend.
  12. Happy belated May the 4th Be With You, Happy Cinco De Mayo and Happy Revenge of the 5th Day. LOL i went to the Symphony yesterday for a Star Wars show. It was so much fun and the costume contest was amazing. Great way to spend the day for a Star Wars nerd like myself. Happy May everyone.
  13. Well in West TN it wasn’t totality but about 98-99%. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take the day off to head back to Arkansas where I used to live to be in totality. Near totality was pretty cool though. It got dusky and eerie at the same time and the temperature definitely dropped. Hope I’m still alive in 20 years when the next total solar will cut through Arkansas.
  14. Happy April! Anyone having an Eclipse party Monday? Wear having one at my work. Moonpies, Starbursts, Milky Way bars and Sun Chips. lol.
  15. Finally got some actual spring temps down here. Winter and summer have been fighting the last few weeks with cold days then not days then back to cold. Apparently it’s too much to ask for nice mild spring temps anymore. LOL. Tulips are at their peak and my azaleas have a few blooms on them. My knockout roses are growing back after being trimmed back to the ground earlier. All this to say the pollen is making me cranky and miserable.
  16. Happy March everyone! For the first time in a bit it came in like a lamb here instead of a lion, although it’s too warm for me to be early March. As per usual we skip right over highs in the 60’s and go straight to the upper 70’s and even an 80 scattered here and there. You would think I would be used to it by now but dang it I’m not. LOL
  17. Is Happy February! Two weeks ago we had record breaking brutal cold and tomorrow it will be 70. lol. Weather in the south is something else.
  18. Day 5 of snow and now ice on the ground. Day 4 of not leaving the house. I’m trying my best not to go stir crazy but this cold weather can go so the snow and ice will melt. The South isn’t built for this for sure!
  19. I have a snow day today! We got hit hard (for the South) with snow Sunday and Monday. Ended up with 5 inches of snow and it is brutally cold. Single digit temps at night and not above 20 for a high the last 2 days. Crazy for Memphis and way too cold for me. We might get some ice Thursday on top of the snow. Ugh.
  20. Happy New Year everyone! @stationchief I hope your surgeries fixes all your issues and that rehab goes well! Keep us updated when you are able! @Reinholt1 I’m so sorry to hear that our resident mom was so ill! Many prayers for you both while she continues to recover!!!
  21. Stay safe out there tonight! Me, I’ll be in bed when the ball drops. I can’t stay up that late anymore.
  22. As always a HUGE thank you to @Bopeep for hosting our Secret Santa fun. It is always one of the best highlights of the holiday season for me.
