Yas!!! I “slipped and slidded” to work for 3 days in a row in this mess we southerners aren’t used to driving on on a good day of just an inch or two of snow/ice. Mother Nature goes and dumps 10 inches on us and more falling today on top of the 10 already out there.
-
Well this just made me snort my coca-cola! ive got 10 inches on the ground from the storm that came through Sunday/Monday and it’s been snowing all day today so another 5-10 being dumped today. In Central Arkansas.......I’m over it now.

Happy February. This is the month when we get some of our heaviest snowfall, if we get any at all. It’s been 5 years since the last measurable snow in my part of the state. Five long years since Ive been able to make snow ice cream.

My Bed, Bath and Beyond is on the list. I went in several times between Thanksgiving and Christmas but only a handful of times through the year. I don’t really think I would have gone more often without the pandemic. I’ll miss the convenience of having one though.

Oh my word!

Happy soggy New Year everyone. It’s been raining for 3 straight days here. I was feeling bummed that I never got around to putting up any Christmas lights outside but boy am I glad I didn’t now. It will take days for everything to dry out after all this rain.

Merry Christmas everyone!! Sunni, thanks again so much for all my gifts. They really are perfect. I’m off work for a few days after tomorrow and I plan on reading that book, snuggled up in the PJ’s and fuzzy socks. Bopeep, you are most welcome!!

I love Stephanie Plum and Grandma!!! LOL I'm so far behind though.

One gift card still to buy and then all done. Everything is wrapped and under the tree until I leave for my parents house Christmas night after my shift is done. No baking here unless I decide to take something to work but that is technically against hospital policy these days so not sure what I’m going to do for food Christmas Eve. I rarely at my house on Eve.....

What will Christmas be Like at Your House this Year?
HanShotFirst replied to magickallight's topic in 2020
Christmas changed for my family since my aunt passed away in fall 2019. She was the honorary family matriarch after my grandmother passed several years ago so Christmas was still spent in the big “family home” but this will be the second in which that won’t happen so it’s still a bit emotional to think that house is no longer the family home. I’ve spent the last 4 years working either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day (12-hr shifts) so not sure what my Christmas will look like with my parents and sister just yet. It’s a 2.5 hour drive between me and my parents so sometimes I’m just too wiped out to make it after working a long shift. For us as a small family unit it doesn’t matter when we open gifts but we do try to get together with my last remaining aunt and her “kids” and it’s get hard to navigate the “kids” having the same day off. -
Thank you! I did even if it wasn’t I had planned.

Ok, so I didn’t quite make it to my birthday but close enough! I’m blown away by my gifts! Harry Potter PJ’s, fuzzy socks, Baby Yoda playing cards, candle that smells so good, a book I can’t wait to read and hot cocoa mix to drink while reading. Thank you so very much Secret Santa! Love love love it all.

Jeez Louise.......13 days away and I still have 3 things to buy. All are small amount gift cards which means I have to go to each individual store so I can get one not preloaded with $10, etc........I tried so hard to finish up yesterday but it rained hard all day here and no way was I running all over town in that mess. Don't know when I will have Christmas with my family since I have to work a 12-hr shift on Christmas Day. I guess we shall figure it out.

Great movie night you got there!

Thanks! Most of the nativity themed ornaments are ones that belonged to my late grandmother and aunt and are all Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments. They both were avid Hallmark ornament collectors and I guess you could say I am too as all of my snowmen ornaments are Hallmark.

What will your kids give their teacher(s) this year?

Thats what I ended up doing for the 3 coworker friends I buy for.......holiday hand soap, holiday hand sanitizer and holder, small hand lotion and then I’ll get them each a small gift card to Starbucks or Andy’s frozen custard for a treat. -
Lol! I opened the shipping box for mine this morning and put the packages under the tree. We’ll see if I last until the 15th, my birthday.
-
LOLOL! You have no idea how accomplished I felt after I got those pics posted! The tree is beautiful. I’m slowly circling back around to the multi lights. My big tree has clear and multi option and I’ve left it on the multi since I plugged it in.

Hello December. The month of my 50th birthday which I will be spending working rather than on a big trip like was originally planned. Stupid COVID. Anyway, still have to put my outdoor decorations out but Not feeling it yet. Lol
-
well you've lost me now. I don't see any of that. All I see are the images. Update: ok, I think I got it now? Lol.
-
Holy moley it worked. LOL

Santa came! Santa came! Finding that at my front door today was much needed after a day straight from COVID “heck”. I’m going to try to wait until my birthday (12/15) to open it since I’ll be spending my 50th at work, in COVID heck. Thank you thank you Secret Santa! I’ll post pics when I do open it.

Official "What did you buy? / How were the crowds?" Thread

Well the extent of my Black Friday shopping was going to Walgreens for a 39¢ Russell Stover marshmallow Santa Claus, a gift pack of Planter’s peanuts for $5.99 and an Amazon gift card. My bonus purchase was a Baby Yoda mini squishmallow. The rest of my shopping was about 90% online and here and there pick up of random items with all the early sales. Overall I spent more than I intended but then I always do. -

I ordered my usual BF Kohl’s items several weeks ago when they did their pre-BF sale and took advantage of their curbside pickup for what I could. I must say I was impressed with how smoothly that entire process went because in the past when I’ve done store pickup I’ve had to wait for that seems like an eternity for someone to find my stuff. Best Buy curbside pickup was pretty efficient last week as well. Saturday I ordered a big Squishmallow from Walgreens for $10 and since things had been going so well at others places I opted for their curbside pickup as well. I ended up waiting 20 minutes before I decided to dig out a mask (thankfully I had one in the car) and went inside to retrieve it. I met the person in the doorway with my order, he apologized profusely for taking so long so I can’t fault them either. He said they had been slammed with curbside pickups since they recently started it and still working out some kinks. It works like most others I’ve used....tap the “I’m here” link, provide vehicle info and wait. The email actually says to call the store if you wait more than 5 minutes but goodness that doesn’t seem like enough time for someone to get the notification, find the merchandise, complete the sale and bring it to your vehicle. All in all I’ve been happy with everyone’s curbside pickup that I’ve used for BF shopping.
