Happy start of the -ber months. It’s my favorite time of year. Christmas shopping will certainly be interesting and challenging this year. I went into Kohl’s a couple of weeks ago and I was shocked at how empty of merchandise the store was. I don’t know if it’s like that everywhere since I’ve kept my shopping to Walmart, Target and Kroger for essentials. It may be the year of the gift cards for me on the gift giving front. And, to the Kohl’s mention, I bought my first “Kohl’s throw” of the season last week. LOL. I got the baby Yoda one now instead of taking the chance that it will be around during their expected Black Friday sale for cheap. A new Kohl’s throw means we truly in the race towards Black Friday, however it will look this year. :)

AWW! Congratulations. Christmas 2021 will be so fun with a practically 1-yr old.

Anyone here in the path of Hurricane Laura, take care! Weather nerds are using words like “Unsurvivable” for some places from the storm surge predicted. We are due some heavy heavy rain here in central Arkansas from the remnants. The street department and fire department are out today pre-positioning barricades for flood-prone streets.

I'm so sorry. I feel the same. No birthday trip for my sister's birthday, which was this past weekend, like we had planned. A December trip for my birthday is not looking good either. Stupid covid......

Happy August from a "red zone" state. We can't seem to get our act together so the quicker this year gets over with the better. It's actually unseasonably cool today for August but I'm sure it won't last. School is set to start in a few weeks here so we shall see how that goes. I'm expecting them to get shut down soon though because enough people still don't seem to be taking this virus serious enough. This is one time I'm super grateful I have no children. Trying to navigate a full time healthcare job and keep my self safe is enough without the added pressure of keeping a child safe. God bless all of you have had to do just that since March.

I have still not done the Disney+ but I am so obsessed with Baby Yoda that I actually bought a stuffed BY at Walmart and went so far as to name him! LOL. I’m a grown adult naming a stuffy. Who would have thunk it! LOL. I also frequent several BY Facebook groups because that content is better than anything else on the mess of a site.

I remember the first car I bought on my own, a brand new early/mid 90’s Dodge Avenger sportscar. Man I loved that car. It was the first no down payment help, no sales tax help and no insurance help ever. The only thing I allowed was one parent to co-sign the loan since I had not built up much credit yet. I feel like I’m betraying my first “baby” because I can’t remember the exact year model. LOLOL

July...….cue the heat advisories along with a pandemic......oh yay. Kill me now <insert eyeroll> Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. The only thing I am doing remotely holiday-ish is having homemade ice cream, which was always a tradition growing up.
-
I should do this too. I’m having a horrible time with my attitude these days. Lol. I went outside in the blazing heat earlier this morning to weed the flower beds hoping that would help but I almost died (Not really but that’s how I felt in the moment) so I came in before I got done. !

Cheesecake Factory gets my vote, simply because the nearest one to me is almost 3 hours away. Oh no! Hope you feel better soon!

Well, it’s June and right on cue it turned summer so now I stay inside because I can’t stand the heat. We actually had a real spring this year with gorgeous weather, when it wasn’t raining. The older (and lets get real, the fatter) I get the more heat-intolerant I get so I see even more staying at home for me. COVID cases are at an all-time high here now too that the state has partially re-opened here too. There’s no way I will be able to stand wearing a mask while in public during the summer so either I say phooey to the mask or significantly alter my grocery/household items shopping. Wishing everyone a good summer!

Happy May! I don’t know what “pandemic week” we are in here but the governor is slowly allowing businesses to open back up with restrictions of course. I don’t know why he bothers because from what I’ve seen in my weekly outings aside from work, people are not wearing masks as recommended, not practicing the 6-ft “rule” and even staying home. We’ve never had on official stay-at-home order but city and state parks/playgrounds had to be closed because of tons of people congregating. Walmart, Kroger have never not been packed and based on their parking lots Lowe’s and Home Depot have never not been packed either. I went to HD today and it was a madhouse inside. I assume Lowe’s was the same way. Anywho, my hospital is still basically on lockdown but some elective surgeries are being allowed now, along with the emergent cases. Life in the lab is slowly coming back to normal as in kickin our patooties daily, for the entirety of our 12 hour shifts. I’ve done my part by staying home, only making grocery shopping runs to Walmart or Kroger. I have been to Target a few times but never to browse. I’m starting to have “browsing my stores” withdrawal honestly. LOL

Yeast seems to be hard to find here, at least according to my Facebook timeline. I’m still having issues with certain canned vegetables and of course no disinfecting wipes or spray can be found.

Happy Easter everyone. I have to work tomorrow so celebration for me. Hope you all find a way to happy holiday, however you celebrate.

I think I read that they were not doing the big Spring sale circular this year to keep the crowds at bay....no way to social distance correctly. I could be wrong about it being Home Depot, it may be Lowes instead. I will miss that sale terribly because I always buy my mulch and some flowers and whatever else looks like fun or something I need. They may still put those things on sale but I don't think it will be advertised like in years past.

Precisely why I’ve never bothered to put away winter or summer clothes. They all just stay in my closet year round, whether there is room or not.

Oh gosh!!! That made me LOL!!! Funny but not funny. Bunnies are so cute and they are everywhere in my neighborhood right now. I have to be verwy verwy careful in the early mornings when I go to work so I don't run over one. I had one snuggled up under one of my azalea plants a few weeks ago. I didn't know it was there so when I took a step into the flower bed it darted out and scared the you now what out of me! LOL.
-
Finally have a day off with no rain so I've been out in my flower beds cleaning them up. I have to do a little at a time due to a bad back but the weather was perfect for pulling weeds, even if my back screamed at me. LOL. It felt good to get some vitamin D for awhile and not think about work and COVID-19 tests and PPE and cutting hours, etc. The life of a healthcare worker is both rewarding and hell right now. If you are the praying type, please continue to do so. This virus is no joke and in my state, people my age and younger (not 65+) are bearing the brunt and are very very ill and even dying. Anyway, enough of that here on this thread. Happy April!!. I am trying to make my house feel like normal so I've decorated for Easter both indoors and out. I can't wait to get a few pots of flowers planted as well.

My head literally hurts from all the COVID-19 news that has spiraled out of control today. My state now has 8 presumptive positive cases (waiting on confirmation from the CDC) and schools are closing, high school sports events cancelled, concerts cancelled, NHL, MLB, NBA, NCAA basketball all cancelled or suspended. Toilet paper is non-existent, disinfectant wipes and spray as well. The soup, pasta, rice and canned vegetable aisles in my Walmart was decimated today. I’m in the healthcare field so there is no working from home for me to self-quarantine. I must report unless I fall ill. Ugh. I know there are tons more issues surrounding this outbreak but March Madness is my favorite sports event ever so I’m so sad there will be no bracket challenge, no nothing. Take precautions as best you can and stay healthy everyone!

Happy March 1st! A day to not be forgotten in my state as we had a massive tornado outbreak on this date 23 years ago. Several small towns were destroyed and I had no idea because I was tied up with wedding of a family member that day. We obviously didn't have all this real time info overload from the internet so we knew nothing until we got home later that night and turned on the TV. Anywho,, I guess this will be yet another year of not one snow flake to fall on my yard.
-
Happy Leap Day! It’s a beautiful day here, finally. We’ve set a “record” this winter of 3 straight days of actual sunshine and no clouds or rain. It’s the little things these days.

My store closed last year and I think another one within about 20 miles is getting ready to close soon. We lost two Hallmark stores a couple of years ago and now Pier 1. I didn’t go into my Pier 1 all that regularly but I loved having the option to go there for gifts and such.
-
It apparently snowed here for the first time in several years......I blinked and missed it but there was video evidence posted on the social medias so I guess it was true. LOL.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and if your're lucky enough to have Monday off work, then have a great long weekend. Federal holidays (well, any holiday really) are non-existent in my world. On a side note, if any of you down south are fortunate enough to live near a Walk-Ons Bistreaux and have not tried the Krispy Kreme bread pudding, please do so. It is amazing but will send you straight into a diabetic coma! LOL. My GALentines and I went to our newly opened location and had a ball Thursday night.

The sun is finally shining here! I've got my Valentine'a Day tshirt on and ready to forget January.
