I bought my first official gifts online yesterday, so soon I’ll have ‘The Box’; the one that sits around that I add gifts to until I load it up to take to mom’s house for our get together. Also it’s like 44 degrees here this morning, so it’s only about 58 in the house and I couldn’t be more thrilled lol! It has to hit the mid thirties outside before I’ll even think about turning heat on. These things can only mean that Black Friday is super close! Come on November!!

I’ll have to see if my Kohl’s has one tomorrow!I like the book bundle idea too but my mom is likely the only one who would really appreciate that one; most of my family aren’t into reading like her and I are. I may just do that for her.

So I decided to do a ‘winter wellness’ gift thing this year; I’m going to bundle the throw with some hot chocolate and maybe some Christmas candy. Wow, this is a shame. I do have a card with them but I only use it for the occasional larger purchase. I generally always pay cash and submit my receipt through the app. Looks like I won’t be using it any longer either.

I never have a big plan for BF shopping beyond the usual things - great deals on movies, the big set of Rubbermaid storage bowls for Mom, and some new fuzzy pajama pants. It’s odd that they would ditch so much of the yellow. I was just reading an article the other day about how much of an impact yellow has on people in advertising. It’s why McDonalds uses it.

I’m not surprised that stores won’t stay closed on Thanksgiving and only offer online sales. It’s a nice idea, but retailers know that getting people into the store means that they will likely buy more than just the things they would buy online. I’m definitely one of those people!

I’m so glad September is here!! Only a couple more 90 degree days and then the temps start to nosedive! Already had my first iced Pumpkin Spice Latte and ready to put the air conditioner into hibernation! The leaves are starting to change on this one big tree in town; they turn an amazing yellow/gold before they all fall off. The fuzzy worms are on the move big time. Yay fall!!

One month closer to fall! We’ve had a week or two of cooler weather lately, but we are headed back into hot weather again unfortunately. I’m ready for those leaves to turn!!

I went to Paris and London back in April for the first time and my best advice is don’t worry! As far as scammers go, just be aware of your surroundings and your stuff like you would any other time. If someone asks you if you speak English, say no, or ‘non’, French for no. If someone approaches you to sign a petition or if they are holding a clipboard and ask if you speak English, say no. Just walk away from those people. You’ll really only run into them at the heavy tourist areas, like the Eiffel Tower for instance. If you use the Metro, just keep your purse/wallet/phone secure like you would on a train here and you’ll be fine. I never once had anyone try anything the 8 days I was there. I read a lot of horror stories about people being scammed or pickpocketed but just take some basic precaution. Paris is absolutely wonderful and we only spent 6 hours or so in London but it’s great as well! I hope you really enjoy the trip and see everything you can!
