Ahhh, yet another Target employee that doesn't know their policy. My store has "bodega" items in both the bodega area and regular aisles, so I don't know how they could even enforce that if it was a real policy, which it isn't. You can read Target's policy on their website. I know many people keep a copy in their coupon binder to educate Target personnel. When false coupon information is given you have a few options. You can cancel your transaction and try another cashier. You can go up to the Customer Service desk where in my experience they are usually better informed on Target's policy. You can escalate it up to a manager and show them Target's policy-- surprisingly sometimes they don't even know it. And, if none of that works you can call Target corporate who are usually quite helpful and they will usually contact the store and set them straight, I know many couponers who will call while still in the store. Sorry you endured that. I have been there many times myself and it is frustrating. But I get such good deals combining coupons with clearance I haven't given up yet. Fortunately I've been doing this long enough to know most of the "good" and "bad" coupon cashiers at my store. I know many others have these problems too and might chime in with a different take than me

Yes, for the most part department markdowns happen every year. There is a fairly big baby clearance every January, and I think a smaller one in July. But, exactly what gets marked down can vary greatly from year to year, so it is a personal call if you want to get something you find on a super deal at 70% now or take a chance holding out for the next clearance.

Per Target's policy, you are allowed to use 1 target coupon & 1 manufacturer coupon per item unless the coupon states otherwise. So, it sounds like you did have too many coupons.

I read somewhere else that there is a Target Mobile coupon for $5 for the diapers though I haven't looked it up myself. You should be able to use one of the mobile $5 and one of the printable $5 in the same transaction though again I haven't actually tried it yet.

I think non-holiday things generally get marked down every 2 weeks, so if they were marked to 50% 2 weeks ago today would probably be the 70% day--- someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

2 questions: Anyone see any legos marked down more than 50% today? Anyone seen bodega items going on clearance already? Saw that reported on another blog but it just sounds too early. High risk pregnancy is limiting my store trips

Baby/toddler clothing & shoes finally went 70% here, though not much left except lots of slippers. Saw heaters and fireplace accessories at 30%. Lots in bedding/sheets at 30%, a few at 50%. Saw quite a few towels at 30%. A few kids hooded towels at 70% though marked 50. A bunch of various light bulbs on clearance. Lots of men's underwear at 50%. Was lucky enough to find the Hanes DH likes. There were quite a few mens clothes at 70%, but I didn't look more closely. Christmas storage bins still at 30%, seemed strange. Looked like lots of bike accessories (helmets, etc) on clearance, but I didn't look closer.

Not sure how that would "benefit all." The clearance isn't some advertised sale. Since it is not, as a customer it is something I consider lucky to hit at the right times, certainly not an entitlement. Forums like this give us a heads up on when clearance MIGHT happen. If I were a store owner I cannot see why I should alter my employees schedules to do something that makes my store lose money. Clearance benefits me at the expense of the store and the manufacturer. I don't want to see them stop clearance entirely because of aggressive and demanding clearance shoppers. They have already cut back clearance by 5% and reduced inventory.

70% toy clearance at my store was pretty sad and I was the first one there. Only found a few things, others have already mentioned them all. We did have quite a number or lego sets at 50%, the most I've ever seen, and since I never see them go less than that here I got a few. I was VERY excited to find a lego advent at 50%, and also found a space set DD will love. There were lots of "baking" things varying from 15-50% from the big display they had before christmas (spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, almond & vanilla extract, mint choco chips, etc.) Lots and lots of candles marked down 30%, expect to see them go lower. I couldn't tell if they were just moving or marking down big baby stuff (cribs, pack n plays, etc) and couldn't stick around to see. Found Aveeno baby gift sets 50% off-- used the online $1 coupon (either coupons.com or smartsource-- can't remember) to make it a good deal. Picked up a bottle of 50% clearanced Seventh Generation detergent to find the bottom had a huge crack and had thick laundry detergent all down my pants and all over the floor. Team member said that was the second time that happened with the pink seventh generation, so i didn't get any though I had coupons.

Just a warning that on another site I saw some people reporting that the $75 total had to be AFTER any coupons and any gift cards earned, yet others reported no problems. So just be prepared for either scenario :)

Saw a number of toys scattered in the aisles already marked down 30%.

Any veteran girl toy bargain hunters have a good guess how low the Disney Princess Total Fairy Castle might go for over the next couple months? It is $145 now at Amazon. It is called Disney Princess Ultimate Dream Castle at ToysRUs and is $159 there. That is way to pricey for us, and I am wondering if I should wait for a deal or go ahead and get DD a used one from one of the older castle models. Back to college stuff finally went to 50% here. It has been at 15% forever. Only one dorm fridge left, so though I would have been happier at 75% I went ahead and got it at 50%. There were tons of desk lamps left, and lots of other varied dorm room items.

My store had all kinds & sizes, small ones right up to the giant rolled up ones. Sorry, I don't remember the specific brands b/c I was just browsing wishing I actually needed a rug b/c there were some nice ones especially at that price. They were all mixed in with regular rugs at my store.

Lots of bedding (comforter sets, sheets, pillowcases, kids sets, piggy banks, kids stepstools, decorative pillows) at 75%. It was a jumbled mix of clearance, meaning lots of 75% under the 30% signs, so it might be worth looking closely. Lots of towels and bath rugs at 75%. Lots of rugs 75%. Lots of other bath "stuff" 75%. They were marking the dinnerware while I was there. A couple random things on clearance in toys.. I really didn't expect to see anything new yet. There were 2 lego sets 50%... something star wars clone wars related and something else... can't remember.. just rare to see legos 50% here. Wish they were sets I was interested in. Back to college stuff sill holding at 15%... strange? I really wanted a dorm fridge. Brown dot 70%--- why does that extra 5% bother me so much? lol :)

Made a quick run in last night and dashed through the toy department. Saw some boxed little kids bikes... can't remember if they were 50% or 75% though. There was a girls 14in barbie one and a boys spiderman one. Sorry I don't remember more.

Lots of clearance in children bedding & room accessories, almost 2 aisles worth. Most only 30% but with that much stuff there's a good chance some will be left for lower drops. Lots of dinnerware sets on clearance too. Some plastic-y summer dishware on clearance too. School stuff not much left here, still holding at 50%. A few random other "college" back to school items only at 15%. A bunch of health and beauty stuff only marked down 15%. I was hoping that the big packages of back to school socks, undies, etc would be marked down, but no luck. They were already setting out all the Halloween aisles today. Not an exciting clearance day, but it is nice to at least see some stuff with those little red tags again :)

Dollar spot pink dot 50%

My Target does this all the time. The item will be in the exact same spot on the shelf, but back up to full price... you can even see the residue from where they peeled the clearance stickers off. I haven't noticed any rhyme or reason to it.

My store went yesterday, must have been late in the afternoon. Nothing left today except I found one playdoh set someone stashed. Super disappointed, but hope everyone else has some good finds today!

Found lots of Quaker chewy granola bars with 25% less sugar marked down 30%. I know that isn't great but we needed them and there is a $1/2 coupon on target.com. Also saw Cars cereal down 25%, I didn't have any Kellogs coupons, but with a coupon that would be a good deal. Found Tide powder boxes 50%-- hardly ever see tide go down that low... guess it is b/c it is the powder.

I am too since I will be out of town next week. If no stores go 75% on toys today isn't that a pretty good indicator that it won't be tomorrow since there always seems to be a few that go on Wednesdays? Things at my store seem to get salvaged a lot more rapidly than they used to and what clearance sticks around seems to be reducing much slower than others are reporting on here.

Not sure if this helps but I saw either duplos or mega blocs on clearance (sorry, my mind just classified them as little kid legos and didn't distinguish between duplos and mega blocs.) I think there were a couple at 50% that were "themed" like Toy Story or Cars maybe. They were down the regular aisle, not on the endcaps.
