I started my shopping today. Made a small dent. Tomorrow a MAJOR dent as I hit toys r us, walmart(2) and target(2). Got 1 ipod and both netbooks for $228 and even got dd a cell phone. Her first one and she will be THRILLED. So with older kids who SNOOP where are we hiding the gifts this year so they don't find them? I usually hide them in the extra basement room but I am concerned they will find them and I really want them to be surprised. Any other ideas? We don't have an attic so that's out.

The barbie dream house I want is on sale right now and I'm wondering if I should buy now and save the $10 or will it be off even more come the end of the month? I know I can price match. TRU does that very easily but I'm wondering if it'll be more then $10 off? I'm also buying the dsi's and 3ds at tru because I have gc's. Not sure what else. I'm starting my christmas shopping today! Cannot wait.

-
exactly. you're right. they don't care about the kids. I may head out later but def not bringing them and after talking with everyone on here, I'm buying almost all of it before bf and maybe just needing a couple things on bf.

I must update and say that they came through for me:) They credited me on my dad's cc and gave me a $25 credit so sorry I complained:) I do love amazon too. This was just frustrating and I'm angry at the person who made the mistake of charging a $25 restock fee for books when they never should have charged any but amazon did rectify it.

I wonder if this is a sign of what will be on sale at Walmart
bfaddict1977 replied to starbeck96's topic in 2011
I saw they have them at my target here for $99. I'm debating between that and the dsi. Not sure yet. -
2 things ds lites are $99 at targets and walmarts, according to their sites. And also I do that every year, buy high, save receipts and when there's a great sale I take it back for cheaper. Especially at toys r us:) They know me there. I've saved A LOT of money doing that.

Have you started shopping yet for holidays 2011?
bfaddict1977 replied to momof3luvs1's topic in 2011
omg I haven't started yet. I start in 2 weeks and already I'm stressing about getting everything I need for the best deals and getting it all within my budget. I always feel the crunch this time of year. -
actually i spoke too soon. they refunded my dads cc but it was a gift for dd and i cannot get the credit back and they're the ones who screwed up. so my dad gets refunded $25 and we're out $25 for dds gift. i cant ask my dad for his cc to purchase a $25 gc. sigh! They cant override their computers.

Actually I spoke with a manager and she said it was a restocking fee error so they're going ahead and crediting me the difference. Thanks though! At least they are nice to work with because I plan on buying a lot this holiday:)

I am having a huge issue with Amazon.com returns and wanted some advice. My dad purchased a set of Harry Potter books for my daughter that cost $50. We already have them though so he told me to go ahead and return them for merchandise credit, which I called amazon and they approved. Shipped the books back, as they were recieved, same box and everything and instead of a $50 credit they gave me HALF! No reason why. Just half. Is amazon always this cheap and terrible for returns? I expected a $50 credit. I am getting nowhere with them. Please help. THanks.

thanks. thinking I'm hiring a sitter. I'm not taking the chance, I think it gets worse every year:(

Black Friday Craziness - news story update from last year
bfaddict1977 replied to shopping4my3son's topic in 2011
look at the cabbage patch frenzy back in the 80's. People were hitting each other and getting into fights over those dolls. BF is no different. So sad:( Not worth it to me for saving a few bucks. -
my concern is that the 2-3 of each i need wont be available on bf. otherwise i'd be fine waiting.

I've never shopped online on bf but thinking this may be the year to start. I'm planning on getting a prepaid visa as I don't do ccs and then saving what I want in carts and making sure my payment info is entered. What are the tried and true strategies for getting the most out of shopping online on bf? I'm planning on seeing if I can get my netbook for less perhaps or just other must have items. The door busters are still online bf right? Or no? Also, what time do stores usually start online? Earlier then in person?
-
great lists! Also, I think don't overpack. Maybe bring just a small purse or something around your waist so as not to hold you back

THANKS. I saw an acer at walmart for $228 I believe I'm going to purchase. I know netbooks run slower but my last netbook was an acer and served it's purpose well. DD won't be taking it out. Just wants to play games and surf the net. I'm afraid though if I wait till bf they won't give me 2 of them and they'll be sold out.

I hated the "Shop While You Wait" from Walmart! Am I alone in this?
bfaddict1977 replied to maguszxz's topic in 2011
this is the one thing that scares me. We have 2 big walmarts around town and many more nearby. Still it's a madhouse at the closest one. I don't want to take the chance of not getting what I wanted because of this. It's chaotic and unorganized, least what I saw when my local wm did this and I refused to wait in the HUGE line. We wanted something 2 yrs ago at the 5 am sale. Took my kids, was hugely pg, and got there about 4. It was jam packed, linme halfway around the store. I said forget it. -
puzzles are also great too. And little climbing toys for later down the road. Like the step 2 slide.
-
I think I'm gonna buy now and return if the deals are better on bf. You're right...no gaurantee I'll get 3 of each system especially then and I can't take that chance.

Any ideas if Walmart will be having another "secret sale"?
bfaddict1977 replied to princess7794's topic in 2011
i dont think they had them last year, at least not that i remember? -
How do you make your lists/budge/amount of giftst?
bfaddict1977 replied to momof3luvs1's topic in 2011
lol what budget? I always try to stick to one and never do. I allot about $1000 for my 5 kids but even with that I go over. I usually write down what they want on ms word and bring it with me. -
walmart has a netbook for 198. Is it any good? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-AOD257-13478/16560719 looking for my dd and one for myself that's just basic, nothing big.
