I've never done layaway because I always worry the stuff I purchase for it will somehow get lost, sold, or misplaced and when I want it, I won't have it. I also like to buy all at once for my kids. It's usually late oct.

I'm afraid to go out on bf this year. I have 5 kids and will get out at some point but before bf I need some major ticket items and I can't see dragging my kids out bf just to save a few bucks. Can I possibly score 2 cheap netbooks, a camera that's decent, 2 dsi's, 1 3dsi for decent money or will there probably not be any good sales? Here I start christmas shopping in october because that's when I get my big bonus. I like to have it all done and not worry I've missed something. If anyone has any ideas I'm open. Last yr I ordered that cheap $99 netbook from 6th ave electronics and it was trash. I promised dd a netbook this year that works and connects to the internet. She is 8. I saw some at $275 at target. Is this the best? Thanks.

A few weeks ago tru online had one for 49.99 that was 99.00 and I got it. Looks awesome.

I spend a LOT of money at tru and we moved and I didn't get one. My parents did and gave me theirs, with their coupon. Thank GoD cuz I needed it. Theyh told me I was on the list. VERY disappointed.

i asked a rep at tru today and she said within the next 2-3 weeks. i was like gee i hope it'[s sooner. what's the number to call to get on the mailing list? We moved and I don't have the new number

I started. Got 4 rolls of paper at the $1 store but no one else has em out yet. Where can I find cheap wrapping paper? Going back to the $1 store tomorrow but I do like a variety. I got halfway done dd #1's gift. I have 3 more kids to go and half of hers. lol Slowly every day.

i agree with the above post. my kids get WAY too much and this year I've been trying to curb things. Their gifts also cost much more because they're getting older. And 3 of my 4 have bdays right before and after xmas so I planned for that as well. I am doing about 8-10 gifts per child. We also do hannuka, 1 gift each night. I have to purchase my wrapping paper and start wrapping!

My son will have his 1st official christmas this year. He was born prematurely and spent his 1st xmas in the nicu. This year I'm going all out and he has all his big gifts and bday present but what do I do for stocking stuffers for 1 yr old? Thanks.

Anyone else have this issue? I only have to shop for my kids and a couple of friends. Haven't gotten my friends their items yet. Doing that later. My kids each have about 18-20 gifts. We do both channuka and xmas. I dole out gifts for 8 nights of channuka and then the rest for xmas. They're well stocked yet I feel something more is missing, like I need more toys. It gets worse each year. Anyone else have this? My baby needs more toys. He's short changed:) lol He has a 1st bday dec 18 too so I am giving him 1 gift. Am I crazy to worry my kids wont have enough toys? On average how many toys do your kids get for xmas each year? DD has expensive gifts too, mp3 player, camera, laptop. She also asked for a wii fit, which I may get but that's another $100.

our walmart stunk last year. I saw people lined up with carts all around the store. NO rhyme or reason to anything. Very disorganized. No one working there spoke english. I asked about the $3 toaster and the cheap micorwave. They didn't understand a word. VERY frustrating! Still have that issue. The aisles were not well organized either. Things were thrown everywhere. People were very discourteous. I did not see much help either.

I was able to get ALL my hot items this year well before. I am done my shopping, save for stocking stuffers:) Got zoobles, squinkies, buzz, dance star mickey, cheap laptop, sing a ma jigs and more. Wouldn't have known half of it had it not been for the great tips on here. Thanks!!!

dance star mickey is sold out at target but $10 more at tru. just fyi. and they WON'T PM.

my 7 yr old dd wants a cell too. not happening. got her a laptop, mp3 player, digi camera, and wii play and a few other items.

they are having iut this year, however not on little items, from what I understand. Kinda not fair imo. Only cribs, big items and certain things count for layaway.

that;s how i feel too. if i get the deals, great. if not oh well. it's all about fun and should be too.

I have the bigger gifts purchased but have a ton of shopping still to do. no where near done. lol

I'm going out. Cannot wait. I just get little things though. Usually get all of my major item purchases in oct or so. I will be about 28 weeks or so too. no make that 32. lol Just be sure you take out snacks and water.

she barely plays with any of her toys really. she begged for zhu zhus last yr and rarely plays with them. this yr i think we're doing digi camera, ipod, and cheap laptop. with a few small toys mixed in.

oh yeah bought that $98 netbook for dd and squeebles and weebles or whatever they're called:). Also bought my twins vtechs. More shopping, just about ALL of it, next month.

you guys think digi cameras, cheap ones, are ok for a 7 yr old? For my 4 yr old twins, almost 5 in jan, I'm getting the kid tough digi cameras. But I think dd is beyond them.
