I saw an ad the other day about pledging to shop at small retail shops, but I can't remember more than that.

Do you take the newspaper ads with you or print your own lists or what?
Elmck replied to bfaddict1977's topic in 2011
I always take the ads with me to look at one more time and to price match if needed and make adjustments if needed. I have a master list of what I want from each store from here. I also do individual store list. The individual store list goes into an envelope with the cash needed to purchase items on the list. Anyone needing or wanting something from that store within our group does the same (money and list in the envelope). The person going to the store takes the envelope and makes all the purchases. -
Great info!! I finally bought DD a Wi from TRU. We wanted the one that came with Wii Sports and Sports Resort. I did not see any deals, so I figured I would use my rewards card and get some back later. I bought the recharging dock from Target on clearance. I also got the extra controller from Target using the $5 off coupon in their toy book. Last we got got the Wii fit plus with Balance board for a little over $50 from Buy.com thanks to a post on GottaDeal. Oh, I also got her the pack that has the bat, wheel, etc on clearance from Dollar General. It really does add up fast!! She is going to one happy little girl though!!

Doing a lot of the cooking Wednesday. Get up early for papers, and try to get to Kmart. I just want the throws ( I may do rite aid if I have time to get a wellness card) instead. Walgreens looks possible too. Back home to finish cooking. Dinner is at 1:00. Clean up and do final preparations for shopping.(final list for each store, ads ready for PM, money in correct store envelopes etc. Depending on how tired I am I may do TRU if not I will line up around 10 for Kohls.

Do you have an HHgregg near you. I thought the washer and dryer set in their ad (front page) was nice. I remember looking at shelving units in the ads last year, but have not paid attention this year. Try using the search feature in the Black Friday ad section. I love that search button!!

The Wal-Mart we are going to is new. We shall see how they do.

Those Shake and Go cars look neat. I got one of mine cowboy boots at about that age and he loved them, maybe add in a cowboy hat too. Do you have Knex? There are some at his age level. One of those books from hallmark where you read and at certain parts that dog barks (really cute) Does he have a bubble mower, something musical like a guitar or his own portable DVD player?

Target. I am sure I have seen them for boys there. Less than $15 a pair if my memory is working.

Still not sure where I am going first though.

I have not seen DS#2 in over 1 1/2 years. He lives on the west coast and we live on the east coast. On my birthday this past week my oldest DS and his wife along with a little help from youngest DS and his wife surprised me with the news that DS#2 is flying home on Dec 14 and will be here for 2 weeks!!(They bought his ticket) I have been a little concerned about the holidays with my folks out of town and DS#3 and family moving to Wisconsin, but this makes me VERY HAPPY!!! When DS#2 and I were talking about him coming home, he wanted to know if he would get a stocking!! This is his first Christmas home in 4 years!!

Is the plunge router with table decent?

I get my kids, their spouses and my brothers family to give me list. I try to do some of the list and then throw in a few surprises, depending on what they ask for. For friends that I do something for I don't ask for list. I doubt I would get someone something like a gift card if they told me to get it, but if my brother asked me to get my nephew something and told me why, then I probably would.

I was up looking around 5:30 AM last year and had a hard time finding them. When I did I bought 5. Everyone wants to look and like the OP I want one for just me. I found them at 7'11.

It really depends on what your usual is. When the kids were younger I would do all kinds of things for the stocking. (We use to leave the house super early for breakfast at my grandma's house so the stocking was all they could open in the morning) Most of mine are all older, but some are getting yoyos, paddle balls and over the door basketball hoops and those wind up planes with the rubber bands,( these toys are good stress relivers) I also plan to get those waffle irons from walmart and maybe the choppers for the girls. I know your boys would not be interested but I am getting my MIL an electric can opener for her stocking(hope it fits) I don't have her name and I know she wants one. I have also done tools, flashlights, compass, sling shots, digital recorders, and one year their stockings were attached to scooters. Have fun!!
