  1. So will all of you friendly East Coasters be posting with an update in the morning? Anyone have an iPhone for live posting?! I'm central time zone, but I won't be able to post after shopping until the afternoon.
  2. Went this morning to "scout" for a few items and was really happy with the selection still in my stores. I'm hoping for tomorrow (Wed) morning for one of the stores that marked down on a Wed. last year and then thurs. for the other. We'll see! Also found some great deals in kids clothing! ### Boys footed fleece pjs: $3.24 (these were still $9.08 at one store) ### Boys sweaters: $3.24 ### Girls t-shirts: $1.74 ### Girls ballet leotard: $8.xx (just 50% off, but I need one) ### Girls two-piece Disney Princess & The Frog set (top & jeans): $4.24(!) ### Girls Cords: $3.24
  3. I do not believe the Monty Rex coupon is still available. I got mine at coupons.com and it's not there anymore.
  4. Finally made it to the Mission Target today and it's good news! The first good news is that most toys were still 50% off. The train sets were 50% (scanned one), super hero sets still 50%, and almost every single thing I saw was 50%. However, the Imaginext sets were 75% off, but I wasn't interested. It's good news b/c most of the items I'm looking at were still there! The GREAT news is that I checked the kids section and they are pretty much fully stocked with Christmas PJs at 90% off! I got one of each of the Nick & Nora sets (Red with Cats, Red with Dogs, Green/Pink) and one set of Carters (two pairs...one has gingerbread men, the other says "What Santa doesn't bring, Grandma will buy"). There were TONS and they are not marked and are mixed with the rest of the Nick and Nora sets under a big $14.99 sign. They scan "item not found", though. The cashier asked the manager and he okayed them at 90% off, but as always, YMMV. If you want them, I would get there soon...I think the longer you wait the more likely they will be to find them and salvage them and/or just refuse to sell them. Love getting 5 pairs of PJs for $6!
  5. Where are you located? Which store? Blizzard here, too. I can't make myself go with two kids.
  6. Yes, the coupon that says DinoRoars Stompers is for Monty Rex. On the Monty Rex box it says clearly "DinoRoars Stompers." I got one at 50% off with the coupon...$19.50!
  7. Sigh...I really hope it's not tomorrow....we're going to have a blizzard here and while it's crazy to get the kids out in that just to hit the clearance, if I don't do it, someone else will and everything will be gone! Has anyone checked stores in KC today? I was in Ward Parkway and everything was marked 30% and there was very little activity in the section (one guy re-setting regular price stuff). Mission usually goes first...I called and the person said 50% still, but you can't trust that!
  8. WHAT?!? That's early! I'm resisting the urge to race to my Target to find out if they are marking down, too!
  9. Found a girls Christmas dress for $5.74 today! The toddler Christmas section is still just 30% off, though. I'm really perplexed about the lack of kids clothes in clearance around here. There are tons of Nick & Nora sets in the regular section, but they are all marked at 30% off with red tags. Yesterday, one store I went to didn't have them marked down at all. Not included in the Christmas section. I scanned them to make sure! And also Circo Christmas themed stuff that is just 30% off. I guess I'll just keep watching!
  10. My experience with the toy clearance is this...you have to be there in the morning, but you don't want to be there TOO early unless you want to wait around for them to start marking down. (Which you can do, but I usually have to have one or both kids with me and that just doesn't work out). Both stores I went to last year and this summer were marking at 9:00ish. I think it varies store to store, though...some seem to mark down over night and in that case you obviously want to be there first thing. I have long since given up asking employees when it will get marked down. Even if they know (which most of them probably don't), they can't tell you. And I think they all get really annoyed with all of the people asking/calling to find out when things are 75% off. Obviously Target wants us all to buy the toys NOW rather than tell us exactly when they will be even cheaper. There are a couple of friendly employees that I will chat with to try to find out info, but they never flat out tell me when it's going to happen. Does anyone else feel like it's going to be the 21st instead of the 14th? For some reason I just don't feel like it will be next week. Maybe b/c so many stores are still at 30% off. I know that sometimes they just all-out skip 50% off, but I feel like they will keep it at 50 a little longer. Of course, I'll be there next week just in case! One last question...I think that last year one local store marked down on Wednesday. Is that possible or am I just making things up?
  11. 90% off at the Mission Target in KC. They had actually reorganized the whole area, which was nice. There were about 25 packs of Oreos sitting there, too...got a few for $.27! Also got a few random ornaments, but that was about it! If you are in the market for a tree stand, they have about 30 of them still! I also found a bounty of Teck Decks (mini skateboards) in the toy area on an endcap. They were part of the Christmas section and rang up $.24 each! Woo! As I was getting in line, two Target Employees (in uniform, with name tags, and one even had a scanner on her belt) got in line in front of me. They each had an armfull of Pepperidge Farm cookies that were holiday packaged (at least 10 each). I knew they would be 90% off so I asked if there were any left. The lady turned around and said, "NO! We just cleared them all out!! These are on sale for $.33 each!!" The other lady in line looked at me in shock. Seriously? I couldn't believe they were not only checking out during work (maybe on break or something, but still), cleared the shelf, and then were all cheerful and bragging about the great price and the fact that they cleared the shelf to customers. I'm all for employees getting to get in on the good deals, too, but it just seemed wrong. Other than that, I was happy with my scores. I also got the Monty Rex for $19.50 after the $10 coupon. I wanted to hold out until 75% off, but I thought either he would be gone or my coupon would expire before then.
  12. Ward Parkway KC at 90%...pretty wiped out, but a few diamonds in the rough!
  13. Everyone posting about the lack of toys on clearance has me wondering if we're just really lucky here or if I just have lower standards for a "good" clearance selection. Because both of my regular Targets have a TON on clearance...at least 2 full aisles at one, 1 full aisle at the other. Most of the endcaps are full, too. And it's a wide variety...princesses, babydolls, Legos, board games, electronics...tons! One store has a few ride-on toys and larger items, the other had a few play kitchens. I know that a lot of it will be gone before 75% off, but I'm very happy with what is there now. Maybe KC just got lucky this time! Oh, and two finds I wanted to share: ### Fancy Nancy Tag reader book: $6.98 -$4/1 printable coupon (coupons.com) or from the 1/3 Parade magazine =$2.98 ### Dino Roars Stompers Monty (big giant red dinosaur...cloth covered, not Spike): $29.50 (50%) -$10/1 printable coupon (from coupons.com...I don't think it's still available) =$19.50
  14. Still 75% at the Mission Target in Kc. May check Ward Parkway later today.
  15. Still 75% off here in KC (Ward Parkway) but I was happy that I went b/c there were 8 Trio Airplane sets sitting there in the Christmas Clearance section that I KNOW weren't there before. Got 4 of those for birthday gifts and also found some tape at 75% off. (Hoping the rest will still be there at 90%). Also found a Taylor Swift Christmas CD for $1.74. Dollar Spot was 75% off and I picked up some batteries. I had a 4 minute (civil) argument with the manager after the cashier wouldn't take the Raoyvac $1/2 coupons I had that said $1 off of ANY two Rayovac Alkaline batteries. No size restriction. I wish I would have had the policy with me b/c she said she wouldn't take them b/c that would be "getting them for free." Yeah...that's the point, lady. I tried to tell her that the policy is to adjust the coupon down and she wouldn't budge. Pointed out that the coupon says ANY two Alkaline batteries. I remained very pleasant the whole time and finally gave up b/c it's not worth it. But it is really maddening that they don't know their own policies. Also, FYI...CVS here went to 75% off on their Christmas stuff today. Got a Barbie and a few other assorted items for cheap!
  16. So, for those of us that went to 75% yesterday...do you all think it will be 90% on Saturday? I hate it when things get marked down on a weekend...more people just happen upon it then!
  17. I noticed the lack of kids holiday t-shirts/leggings, too. In year's past (and at Halloween, Easter, etc) there are always a TON of these still available at 75% off. I usually even get them at 90% off for like $.50/piece. But this year there are none. And no Christmas PJs in the clearance section at my store, either. I checked the regular sections and saw Pjs, but they were clearanced to 30% off with red stickers. There were no holiday leggings/tee's. Regarding the Kelly dolls...you may want to check CVS. My CVS had a few left at 50% off yesterday. I hope to find some at 75% and will gladly pick up any extra for you!
  18. Just got back from the Ward Parkway Mall Target in KC. 75% off and pretty much fully stocked still. I got my tree! (The Phillips 7' LED prelit for $54). ### Found GI Joe/Transformer Sets: $2.99 ### Little Miss Set: $4.99 (still a bit pricey if you ask me, but my daughter will love it in her Easter Basket!) ### Tablecloth: $1.49 ### Tech Deck Skateboards: $.74 ### Ghiradelli: $.99 (used a $1/2 coupon printable at Target.com and got them for $.49 each) ### Puffs Tissues: $.49 I had both kids with me, so I couldn't really effectively shop with them grabbing things off the shelves! I may go back tonight for a few more ornaments, etc. I honestly could not believe how much they still had. It was like it was still before Christmas. There were at least 20 Christmas Trees...probably more.
  19. Just called one here in KC and they said 75% off. But...is it worth going out in the snow? That is the question! I reeeeeeaaaaallllly want a Christmas tree this year...I missed out last year!
  20. Bummer...I wish it were changing over today. We're getting a bunch of snow tomorrow and I'm not sure that I'll be able to get there. Hopefully my stash is still there when I finally get around to showing up! I was walking around the store yesterday just laughing because there were things stashed EVERYWHERE! Holiday stuff on every random shelf pretty much. :)
  21. I did not see any today. I saw mostly iDogs, a few babydolls, a couple of baby toys, a lot of little playdoh stocking-stuffer sized things, and a few other random things. There were some clearance tags in the aisles, though, and I didn't walk down each one to see what was clearanced. I did look at the Star Wars section and didn't see any clearance there.
  22. Checked again today and they are the iDogs...for $20.98 at my store.
