Ward Parkway was about half way marked down yesterday afternoon. They were marking while I was there and they seemed to quit about half way through. I picked up a couple of Nano Block sets, a Furreal friends dragon, a Hexbug set, and a crafty set thing. My kids are too old for most of the toys now and it kills me to see all of the great deals and not need them anymore! Good luck to everyone today!

Re: the frozen doll...it was a large doll (like 2 feet tall). They had other princesses, too, but I didn't stick around to see if those got marked down to 70% off. The doll doesn't look like a baby...it is "adult" Anna but in doll form. Will try to get a photo when I get home tonight. Like I said...it was only 50% off, but there were just two left and it was the only thing in the whole clearance section that my daughter really wanted. It was $24. ETA: It's this one. Ward Parkway was just starting around 9:00. I had them scan the few things I wanted and it was all 70% except the Frozen doll (big one). That went from 30 to 50. Just got the Twister Dance party game, a few Matchbox plane sets, and a doodle bear. My friend said the Mission store was not marking down at all as of 9:30. Ward Pkwy was also marking sports/camping. Most of what I saw was just 50%. This is all in KC.

No markdown at Ward Parkway this afternoon. No big surprise.

Went to Ward Parkway this morning. No movement in toys there, but I was chatting with the markdown lady (she was in kitchen/bath) and I said, "you aren't doing toys today are you?" and she said, "Yes, but I dont' know when I'll get there." So....take it with a grain of salt. I may go back at lunch time to see but in looking at the toys, MOST were 50% off, so I can't imagine that those wouldn't go to 70% off if she's marking down today. Good luck! I'm still guessing next week.

Different stores mark down at different times. I have one that is almost always marked down when they open already, the other one usually starts around the time the store opens so you kind of have to wait until they finish it all. I would check at opening just in case. Usually (at my stores at least), there is SOME movement when the store opens if they are going to mark down that day, but there have been years where they didn't even start until mid-morning. (I find it best to work together with a friend if you can...one of you go when the store opens, the other goes at 10:00 if necessary). If they haven't started by mid-morning then that usually means no markdown.

In years past (a few years) it was always the 2nd Thursday of January. So, that would be this week. However, last year it was the 17th. So, I guess I would say it could be either day and I would check both this Thursday (or today) and next. One of my stores has already consolodated everything into one aisle and the other had not, but that isn't always an indication. Good luck! I am trying not to care about it this year as my kids are past most of the toys, but I can't help but want to be in on the action! There are a couple of things that they woudl like that I've seen marked down so I'll have to at least check it out.

Okay, back from picking up the kids. Here is a photo of what I got. There are still a ton of the girls headbands (big girls section) at the Shawnee Mission/Metcalf store. As mentioned before, still some men's t-shirts and boxer shorts, too. (These are NOT the boxer briefs, but regular boxers in gift tins...you can see the little one with the "major award" on it in the photo). I think there were still some peppermint marshmallows (regular section) and there were at least two of the Ice Breakers gum left (in the regular candy/gum aisle). I got the last of the Goody hair bands, but included them in case anyone else wants to look for them. They have a black polkadot label (the reg. priced ones were a solid black). Oh, and I mentioned the toddler pjs that are still there...they are one pink and one green...button down top flannel-ish material. Scanned a TON of pjs in the big kid sections and none were 90% off. ETA: The pink watch in the little circular package...there were at least two of those left, too...in the big girls section with the accessories...on the opposite side of the little stand from the headbands. One pink and one yellow left.

Hit the hidden deal mother lode at the Shawnee Mission & Metcalf store in KC. There are still some things there if you are in the area. Men's t - shirts. ..I got two and left 3 there...One Griswold, one Home Alone, one Nightmare before Christmas. (I got a Griswold and a Peanuts one). There are also 2 boxer gift boxes...Both Christmas Story (those are near the Guiness boxers). I also got some Peanuts pajama pants. Only saw one pair but didn't really search. There are two pairs of toddler pj's still there hanging on the clearance rack. More later. ..

Any word on whether it's salvaged? Finally got my kids back in school so I planned to hit a store that's a little farther away on my lunch break today if it's still ringing 90%.

Not salvaged here...found a few hidden deals...boxers, a little crafty thing. There are still 2 full aisles of Christmas stuff! Crazy!

Yes, curious to find out if everything is salvaged today. I have been wanting to go back to look for a couple of hidden deals but between the snow and my cold I have been stuck at home. I will venture out in a few hours.

90% in KC. 70% food. Weird thing this year....everything with any kind of food element (martini glass set with a jar of olives, a mug with hot cocoa, a Minnie Mouse with a tiny pack of mints) is part of the food grouping and is 70%. Bummer b/c there were a ton of those items but once you buy things at 90, 70 just doesn't seem to be a good deal anymore. Anyway, got a ton of stuff!

I really hate it when they markdown on the weekends. Mainly because I have to bring my kids with me (so I have to be super sneaky buying stocking stuffers, etc), but also because all of the random shoppers just happen upon it since it's Saturday and clear the section faster. Vent over. Just glad to get deals...hoping for tomorrow so I can move on with my life!

Still 70/50% here (ward parkway in KC). Scanned a few things and no movement. There is SO much left, though! No movement in toys.

70% at Ward Pkwy in KC. Tons and tons left. Most paper goods were gone when I got there this afternoon but did get some kids solo cups and some coffee cups (dixie). I have never seen so much stuff left at 70%, let alone in the afternoon. I scored a huge haul!

Basically missed out on everything including the Puffs b/c I couldn't go until lunch. Amazing how fast news spreads about these "secret" deals. Totally cleared shelves at 2 Targets. I did get some Halloween fruit snacks for 70%.

Same here...like 10 ppl waiting for the store to open (the manager sent the security guard back when he saw the crowd heading to the seasonal area). Two ladies cleared out the paper towels, napkins, and paper plates in a few minutes. I don't get it! It is not even that good of a deal at 50% off! I bought a couple of napkins and Glad bags b/c I know they will be gone at 70% but the prices are definitely not "stock up" prices at 50%. Anyway...got a few stocking stuffer toys (Lego packs, cabbage patch tiny dolls), a Barbie, and some snacks. Fyi...the Halloween Goldfish huge boxes were 30% but they did not prompt the $5 gift card like the non-clearance boxes.

They were finally marking down the stationary/arts/crafts stuff today when I stopped into the Ward Pkwy Mall store. Got lots of art/craft kits for $2-6 including "Disgusting Science" and some Melissa & Doug stamps. Some will be for Christmas presents and some for the birthday closet!

My store had maybe a few things marked 70% off in BTS...about 10-15% of it. Most of the things I see in others' photos were not marked to 70% at my store (and I scanned). It was almost like they started and then quit. (This was yesterday). I thought maybe they had gone on break or something but I saw them marking down bedding, so it didn't seem like they were going back to BTS. Trying again today. There was a TON left! (This is the store at Ward Pkwy in KC).
