  1. That would be a bit too early for a lot of people, I would think. At that point, you're sacrificing holiday time to shop and that just not going to fly for many people, myself included. I like the 10 p.m. sales though. I can shop, come home and sleep, and then head out again in the morning. I'll be interested to see if they follow through with the 8:00 idea. I can see that not working out so well.
  2. Same here! I was like 12 TV's!!???
  3. I think you could probably get the v11 and it would be fine. That's such a great deal! I'm all for updates and everything, but I can't see there being a huge difference and you can always get a more updated version for him in the future if you think he needs one. If he's anything like my dad he'll get used to the version you buy for him and never want to upgrade anyway. He's going to love it, such an awesome gift!
  4. My excitement has reached fever pitch!!! Paying down my credit card with the cash rewards so I can use that exclusively on BF and get a little more bang for my buck! I can't wait. I'm having BF dreams...Target shopping carts all lined up in a row, pallets being opened at Walmart, snow flurries in the air, finding that last-minute hard-to-find item that someone ditched by the checkouts....I'm so ready.
  5. My 3-year-old can't get enough of Jingle Bells on that album.
  6. I officially started shopping today! I picked up some Fisher Price Zoo Talkers animals, the zoo talker train, and some Thomas stuff for ds3, and some Lego Monster Fighters and Hero Factory stuff for ds8.
  7. Guilty. I started my Christmas shopping this morning and had Michael Buble's Christmas album on, followed by a little youtube. I don't know if it was the frost on the ground this morning or what, but I am mentally in full Christmas shopping mode. I'm almost done with ds3 already! And I found some great lego stuff for ds8 at Kmart!
  8. I'm hoping for some steals on Wii games. Maybe some classics like Mario or Kirby for like $10-$15. Also hoping for some markdowns on Fisher Price toys, and a good deal on a decent power drill for dh. His is garbage.
  9. I always wait until after Halloween to start my shopping, but when that new Skylanders Giants hits shelves Oct 20th or 21st or whatever it is, I'll grab that for ds8. I also got a coupon in the mail today towards fisher price toys at kmart to be used before Oct 31 so I'll run up there and grab some stuff for ds3. Other than that my shopping won't kick in until November.
  10. I guess it depends on where you live, then. We didn't have to compromise our Thanksgiving at all because everyone leaves our house around 8-8:30 anyway (we start the party at noon), so it worked out that we had time for coffee and then up to Walmart for the sales to start, then came home to get some sleep. But I can see if you have a long drive to the stores or if you're in an area where people line up how that could be a problem. Hmmm. I hated the midnight openings because I had too much time to sit around, and I hated the 5 a.m. openings because I don't want to get up early the day after a holiday.
  11. . That's our #1 around here too. I'm really hoping it isn't as hard to find the new characters this year as it was the find the original skylanders last year. But yes, the game is at the top of DS8's xmas list, along with Ninja Turtle toys (can you believe they're back??) and Lego Monster Fighters.
  12. So after all the hubbub surrounding the early BF start times last year, I'm wondering if anyone knows if that was an experiment or the new norm? I personally liked the early start at WM. I cleaned up from Thanksgiving, had a cup of coffee, and my BF buddy and I got there at 9:30 for the 10 pm sales. For me it was easier than staying up all night or waking up super early. What are your thoughts? Will we see more of that this year? Did you love it or hate it?
  13. Crayola stuff. I don't know why! Every year I get whatever Crayola item is on sale at Walmart, and my kids play with them 2 or 3 times and never look at them again. The glow dome, the light up wall hanging thingy, the doodle pad that makes sounds....every year. Well not this year! My BF buddy has strict instructions to remove anything that says Crayola from my cart. And I am to monitor his cheap dvd buying. Those $1.98 walmart dvds suck him in and he ends up with stacks of movies he never watches.
  14. Thank you all so much!! I'm going to make sure I'm on the mailing list for coupons and reminders, too.
  15. I figured who better to ask than the Gottadealers? Mom and I hit Bath and Body Works on a Monday after Christmas a few years in a row and got a ton of 90% off stuff, but we skipped the sale last year because we had enough stuff and now we don't remember when they do it. Is it the week after Christmas or the week after New Years? We want to make sure we get up there when they open that day. I've never seen them advertise about it, and I asked at the store but the lady was very vague and said "it will be some time after Christmas". Little help?
  16. We're really excited to see DS7 open his new Wii and Skylanders game for Christmas this year!!! He plays it at his friends' houses, so he already has an idea of which guys he likes. He wanted "Eruptor", but I couldn't find it anywhere!!! I was at TRU Express at my local Outlet Mall on Saturday and there it was, but they were charging $10.99 per figure!!! That's the highest I've seen anywhere. I picked the pack up and here Eruptor had a $7.99 tag on it. I took it to the register and the kid working there said they must have forgotten to relabel that one with the $10.99 price so I could still get it for $7.00. Whew! Now I have the guy he wants and the starter pack, but that's it. I figure he can save his money after Christmas to buy other guys he wants, and he has a birthday in April. Watch out for rising prices on those little figures though. I couldn't believe they wanted to charge me $10.99!!
  17. We got our son a Wii for Christmas this year, but I got the black Mario Kart bundle with the Wii that stands up, and then bought an extra remote and stuff. I wasn't sure about these Wii's that just lay flat, and I definitely didn't want a blue one. I was just surprised to see so many left over at WM! I saw people putting 2 and 3 of them in their carts on BF! WM must have had a large stock of them. ?
  18. I just got back from my WM and was surprised at how much is still left. There were a ton of the blue Wii's (marked at $119 now), Disney rocking horses and chairs, the kids' pajamas that everyone was going nuts over on BF, telescopes, desk chairs...I can't say whether any of the TV's or bluray players were from BF because I didn't really look at them. So I take it the blue Wii's weren't on anyone's list??
  19. These are adorable! They had them for the same price last BF at WM and I got the Bullseye for my DS2. He still loves it! When you push on its ear it plays a song and when you push it again it makes a horse noise. Great price on that! :)
  20. My mom and I got some shopping done online after dinner today, and found some awesome deals on Wii games and toys on Amazon, and she got a PS3 bundle for one of my brothers, along with some games. My brother and I are back from the stores now and he just went home to get some sleep, which is where I'm heading too. We got to our WM at 9:45 and got everything we wanted. I got my $15 Crayola Glow Dome, a $15 Color Wonder noise making thingy, and a Shark Mop for my mom. We also got a few of the $1.97 DVDs. It was super crowded but our WM is awesome. Very organized and well run, friendly and helpful employees, and fast check-outs. We were done and sitting in the Target parking lot at 10:30. There wasn't really anything we needed there, but thought we would stop over. The line to get in was longer than I've ever seen it! I don't know what hot deal everyone was waiting for but it was insane. Kohls is in the same plaza and we were looking at their line too. Insane. We decided to go grab a coffee and come back after the doors opened. Walked around both stores for a few minutes, didn't really see anything, and came on home. I'm not sure I like the wait in line to get to the check-out system that Target and Kohls had going on. Those poor people will be waiting there for hours! I thought only TRU did that, I don't know what I was thinking. I hope everyone had a great time shopping! :)
  21. I wonder if there will be a line outside the STD place before the doors open....
  22. Thanks! :)
  23. Where are you guys seeing the surprise doorbusters?? I'm missing them.
