  1. BUT you'd have $50 to spend compared to $25. With the $291 walmart price, it's as if you used the $25 to pay towards the system (to reduce the bundle price) and would still have the GC to use but with the amazon deal, the $50 is out of mind since it was already reduced in the bill. I was only showing what your net cost of the items would be since you did that same analogy for the Walmart deal. To many, it would cause confusion on what they are actually saving. That's why I recommend seeing what your out of pocket is and what your net GC value would be. If you feel it's the best value for you, then I commend you :)
  2. also, if you think of how much you paid for the system bundle by itself (if including the price of the GC like you did) then... at Walmart you paid $316.13-$25=$291.13 at amazon you would pay $289.98-$50=$239.98 I really hate spending more $$ than necessary so I truly want you to get the best deal!
  3. the reason for that is because Nintendo and Apple (and others) do not allow retailers to advertise their items for less than the suggested retail price so you have to add to cart the items you want and only in their cart they can modify the price of the item to (in essence) give you a free $50 GC. yes, you are essentially paying for the $50 GC but you get a lower price on the system bundle (which might lower tax) but the savings are determined in your total out of pocket and what you get to spend after your out of pocket is finished ($25 vs $50) HTH :)
  4. amazon and other online retailers don't charge tax on states they don't have warehouses/stores in. there's no store in CA so no tax :) (but I have to say that Federal laws require you to place it on your tax forms every tax season ) and I think your math would be a bit wrong (sorry) but if you compare total value and net price you'll see a BIG difference. WALMART: $199.99 + $89.99 for $316.13(including tax) net pay and you get $25 e-GC to spend. AMAZON: $199.99 + $89.99 for $289 net pay and you get $50 e-GC to spend. even with tax, you end up paying the same amount at both places but you get a bigger GC value at amazon.
  5. wow...I guess it depends on where you live/come from. around here you'll get the line starter to come in Tues/Wed and then no one starts coming in until Thanksgiving dinner is done around 7-10pm. I've gone to BB for the last 4 years (excluding last year) at around 12:30am and I was always among the first 25. Granted, I didn't need EVERY doorbuster so I didn't worry. I am looking at getting the OM netbook so i'll head over there around 12am.
  6. my total would come out to $289.98 (plus no tax..so that's an extra $25 savings that I would essentially "not have to pay for") plus a $50 GC to boot? This is a better deal IMHO. How much was your walmart price (including tax)?
  7. several hours and 3 targets later... I come home empty handed and $#%@^! pissed! Everywhere explicitly refused to honor the TRU 2-Day "Doorbuster" sale even with the Price Match Policy in hand! Two of the Target stores had the same price match policy posted at Guest Services but they pulled out a "store copy" of the price match policy that had color graphics. In this "store copy" it clearly stated that they were not to honor "timed sales/events" (such as 5am-10am) or "earlybird/doorbuster" sales. I asked why the public price match policy did not state any of that and they each told me that it was "up to corporate!" I demanded they honor their price match policy that they post publicly in their stores and online and they would not because the "store copy" states that they don't need to. I understand if its policy but they should have the common sense to post their actual policy in place of the stripped down version to not have more issues like this! I called Guest Services (the 800 #) and complained to them and THEY AGREED WITH THE STORE! I was baffled and offended when they told me they were "sorry the price match policy was not clear to you." How could it be clear to ANYONE if they don't post it ANYWHERE that they don't match doorbusters but instead of following the publicly posted Price Match Guarantee they follow the Corporate "store copy" only! I just wanted some Alphabet Pals for my niece and my friends' baby. I remember how much it sucked working there when I was in college but since then I always thought the shopping experience was as close to great customer service as it should be. After tonight, I don't know anymore...
  8. Thanks for the link and here's one to keep/modify with your name in case anyone is wondering about PM'ing and using Q's. http://docs.google.com/View?id=dccpgn8g_724d2nq4cg7
  9. they pulled it up on their computers in store but I'm gonna try at a different target that supposedly has 30 in stock tonight and in regards to the leapfrog coupons, I realize the links were pulling up old Q's but I meant that they revamped their layout of the coupons but the links weren't updated yet. I guess we should expect some new Q's from Leapfrog soon :)
  10. just got back.. tried to do the price match on the TRU ad for the leapfrog Alphabet Pal for $10.49 (2 day ad) and was going to use the $10 TQ to make it $0.49! but they wouldn't price match doorbusters as apparently is stated on their price match guarantee (the FAQ section)
  11. yes, MFR still carry them with Business editions of 7 and Vista (typically through custom builds) and they include a downgrade disc/option. But not for the price range that most users are looking for.
  12. You can save the Q for the Welch's as it will be $2.97 advertised price in this Sunday's ad. :)
  13. yes, the Tag Jr can be lowered to $8.99 with the TAG coupon, but if they come out with a $10 off Tag Jr coupon, it would lessen the confusion Target employees have and all doubts of the validity of the Q would be removed. A step forward IMHO.
  14. I don't know why but Leapfrog has all these new coupon LINKS for lots of products (http://www.leapfrog.com/en/landingpages/coupons.html) but the coupons come up as old coupons (expired 9/30/09) It's new because I don't think we've ever seen a $10 advertised coupon for the TAG Jr. and the layout of all the coupons is completely new! If they get this up and running soon, you can expect some great deals on My Pal Scout (will be $6@Target w/MQ & TQ) and Clickstart will be $19.99 on BF (with a $10 MQ hopefully) making it $9.99.
  15. Stores · 1,2,3,4, Black · Friday · savings · ga·lore, Gran·ny · stole · my · cart!
  16. I'm glad you'll get something you'll enjoy in the long run! :) While the $250 laptop was an "OK" deal, I personally would've been frustrated with it after only a couple weeks because of my personal needs. Yes, the BB one doesn't have the top-of-the-line processor, but we weren't talking about $1000+ laptops so it's a good deal nonetheless. Plus, like Freesia said, Staples would make you wait a bit longer for their $50 easy rebate which raises your Out Of Pocket expense.
  17. I WAS talking about the HP at BB right now for $430. Not any Acer that is up for grabs. The specs for the $399@staples (for BF) and the the $430@BB (avail. now) are near identical except for the HDMI port that is listed on the BB site HERE. The staples one doesn't have a legible SKU so I can't see if it has HDMI port.
  18. I don't know off the top of my head if the staples one is the same, but the BB one has an HDMI port for external viewing to a hi-def TV. It won't play blu-ray, but at least the output is good. For what you said you needed.. the $250 should work perfectly fine. Farmville can be played on a netbook even. Differences between the two would be whether or not they have the number keypad built in, number of usb ports, extra video (HDMI) ports, wireless-n or b-g only (the majority are wireless b-g), keyboard layout and battery life. Try to find a picture of them to compare so you don't have to open the box of the one you got just yet. :-)
  19. for $249...It's a steal! Keep in mind though that it probably isn't the 15.6 WIDESCREEN laptop with the built in number keypad. It's a 15.4" fullscreen. It's almost like it's last year's model, with Windows 7. It may have a dual core Celeron, but it's still considered a low end laptop. So long as you're not going to be playing games and multi-tasking too much, it suits the needs of the average user.
  20. don't forget to hit your "back" button on your browser a few times after printing each one to get a 2nd coupon :)
  21. And yes, you're able to do that especially if you bring in two coupons that are from the same ad or receipt and one says "Store Coupon" and the other says "Manufacture's Coupon" The MQ should have mailing instructions on the back for the store to redeem it. I do this when buying soda from ralphs with a Stater's Ad Mfr Q.
  22. Went just now on my lunch to look for the UP and Monster's Inc Blu-Ray deal that ends up being $9.98 for both... they're out of stock of Monster's Inc! I asked where I could get it, and they looked it up and said all stores in our area are out of stock! On the upside, I saw an entire crew in electronics putting up hundreds of DVD players and bargain movies down an aisle behind the video games. At the endcaps, they had 4 (four) - 32" Apex LCD Tv's (720p) for $349! They had a couple Philips 32" for $399 and a 42" (don't remember the brand) for $499 I believe. Those are near Black Friday prices good to see they're becoming regular items :)
  23. that would make it $399.99 if it's currently $699.99 I dunno if that's the correct one.
  24. These are Xbox games, not Xbox 360 games but some ARE backwards compatible. I don't own an Xbox360 so I don't know which do and which don't. But I found an article here if it helps http://xbox.about.com/od/xbox360faqs/f/x360bcfaq.htm
  25. I think you mean NETbooks :) Notebooks are laptops (just with a different name) Netbooks are the smaller ones that are w/o a CD/DVD drive. WoW can run off less than a dual-core and 2.2Ghz but I would recommend something of at least those specs anyway to play comfortably.
