  1. I ordered this on Cyber Monday and got the "backordered" statement. They sent me an email yesterday that it is shipped!
  2. As far as taste and quality goes,it will be perfectly fine! Depending on how old the kids are then I'm not sure gummy eyeballs would be the best Christmas candy (just using an example from my own household!) but there should be some things you can use. I buy all my holiday candy 90% off then freeze it-it's always a special treat for me to see what all I got a good deal on the year before! Candy canes don't need to be frozen though. Heck, who can pass up a box of candy canes for nine cents? :)
  3. Bless their little pea-pickin' hearts! I'd love to do for such appreciative folks-it must be a blast at their house on Christmas morning!
  4. If he's young, maybe tickets to a local sports team event. Men of all ages always appreciate anything food oriented! Gift certificates and homemade goodies would be appreciated.
  5. That IS perfect! Some of my favorite childhood memories are of traipsing through the hills trying to find the "perfect" Christmas tree then Daddy would cut it off with this little folding saw he had and carry it all the way back to the truck. Nothing beats the smell of a real tree!
  6. How about a Taco Bar? Hard and soft shells with all the toppings. Not really expensive and maybe something for everyone's tastes!
  7. You know, that's what I thought too as it happened to me once at CVS. I had a very friendly young man cashier and maybe he just didn't know what he was doing but he told me ECB was just like cash and I could use them for anything (I paid for one item with 2 ECB). I appreciate Rockford Mom's explanation also-it just may be a case of YMMV.
  8. Wasn't really looking for it,but they still had the boys coats for $7 (same as BF). I couldn't even get NEAR the clothes last week so I kinda lucked out finding some today.
  9. I will just say that I am livid with Wags in that they will not accept more than one RR for a product! It is company policy not to accept more than one RR (a/k/a Manufacturer's Coupon) per item! I fired off an email last night to "corporate" (did you know it first goes to the store you made the complaint at?) when I wanted to purchase one 2 G Sandisk memory card for $9.99 and wanted to pay with 2 RR-one for $6 and one for $4 and still would have had to pay .69 for state sales tax. Anyway, the new manager of my favorite store called me before 8 a.m. to respond to my email and to say she didn't want to lose my business. I understand Company Policy but what I don't understand is why CVS' ECB are treated just like cash (which they should be) but yet not Wags' RR??? She explained it had to with a contract with the manufacturer but why would Wags be different than CVS??? Same type of customer rewards program yet different results. I paid cash to purchase the items for RR and therefore the RR should be treated the same. That's the way I see it anyway. It's not like I was asking for cash back...I still owed money for my purchase! Not only that but I passed a CVS and thought to stop in there for the memory card but knew I had the RR to cover my purchase. I still have around $6 RR from shopping last week but I am so disgusted with Walgreen's that I don't know how much I will shop there anymore. I used to stop in a Wags at least once a week.
  10. I tried this today and the poor cashier didn't know what to do with my printed coupon! She'd called for a manager but it was taking so long and I was going to go to YC anyway.... I told her to forget it. I got a good deal at both BBaB and YC so can't complain! Thanks for the Q op!

    St. Nick

The kids set out their shoes and St. Nick brings CANDY only (90% off Halloween candy hehe)! Even my big ol' 18 y.o. son puts his shoe out :) The younger ones put out both shoes for extra candy but St. Nick only puts it in one shoe!
  12. Today I got the monitor I ordered about 1:30 a.m. Thanksgiving day!
  13. Queenofshopping-that is GORGEOUS! How did you win it????? You will have to put some carolers inside it :)
  14. I kinda did the same thing (only I paid $178 on BF times 2) but mine were listed as 8 gig 3rd generation then the CM ones were 2nd gen???? I love Amazon too-I think I ought to call! ETA- Bummer I was too late
  15. I don't always set up my lighted Christmas Village each year (depends on how much time I have and a place to put it up) but I know that Hobby Lobby has a ton of village things fairly cheap (especially with a coupon) but I was in Dollar Tree yesterday and they had some things too. I think it's wonderful that you are using your mother's things---- tradition is such an important part of Christmas!
  16. Hi Pam,nice to meet you! I didn't know you were the one to start an actual thread/sub-forum regarding what I thought was "my little secret" There are lots of nice people here, willing to share our finds and tips in a friendly community. THANKS and welcome back! :)Jennifer

    Mashed potatoes

Okay,I use NO milk or cream, just the potato water (drain pretty well until there is just a little bit left in the pot). I do boil mine for a pretty long time. LOTS of real butter, sour cream (hehe) and coarse ground salt and pepper. When I am feeling under the weather, these mashed potatoes and my homemade macaroni and cheese are the ONLY things I want to eat! Ultimate comfort food.
  18. I am a big Kohl's fan in general but the one store I deliberately drove 20 mins to (as opposed to the one 3 mins from my house) was absolutely outstanding! Had everything I wanted, including the Presto griddle and deep fryer for $9.99 after rebate! They printed out Rebate Receipts too. Lines looked a tad long, but moved QUICK. I forgot to bring my Kohl's card but the cashier looked it up for me and I got my extra 15% off. They had a sacker at each register to bag everything up. People were courteous and pleasant. The Kohl's by the mall was a different story alltogether! They had nothing left and I parked very far away.
  19. I hope not,since I like both of the stores,but I wouldn't doubt it.
  20. You were right! I just got my email woo hoo :) Now I'm off to the stores.... Good Luck to everyone and Happy Black Friday!!!!!!
  21. I ordered the blu-ray player 15 mins ago and everything looked good but I've still not got a confirmation email
  22. No doubt! I didn't even know there were states that DIDN'T tax at least some percentage! Amazing what I find out reading these threads :)
  23. I'm going with this! Much easier to stay awake until 11:45 than 12:45 especially when I need to be up and out early.
  24. I am definitely going to Target on BF as I have my 10% coupon (Redcard rewards) but it depends on what all I get tomorrow. I had the most pleasant experience going to a less crowded Target (not the one by the mall!) at 10 a.m. last BF and getting everything I wanted. I am hoping for the same good luck again this year. I am mostly looking for appliances and clothes (yeah I know: boring) so there might be some left. And whatever else is out there. I just like being out on BF and we're supposed to be getting a rain/snow mix which just sets the tone for me!
  25. you're not missing much imo. Nothing like the BF ad anyway so don't feel too bad!
