Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2010
HansieDZ replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I know for a fact our candy went to 90% off last year as I hit up 3 Targets and got tons (not really) but I got lots! As a matter of fact,I just put out the last of it for Halloween. I don't need as much this year (I was buying for a football team) but when it's 90%,it's hard to pass up. I use it for treat bags all the year long. The chocolate kind freezes fine and the others can be used for many months down the road. I found the Target in the more affluent section of town had far more clearance left for the 90% off sale and that definitely went for the after-Christmas sale too. JME -
Where can I find First Holy Communion dresses?
HansieDZ replied to Jannabear's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Love that you are starting so early but in my area, they have been long gone. Sears and JCPenney are the best that I've found and they are reasonable. Other places to look (in March and April) are TJMaxx and Burlington Coat Factory. -
Thank you! I'm going to call the stores tomorrow and I'll share what I find out too.

All our WMs are 24-hr and I am curious as to how it's going to be getting one of the iTunes card: can we pick them up beforehand then wait until 8 to pay or will they be under "lock and key" until then? I'll call around tomorrow but wondered if anyone here had a clue.

I have the $10 off $30 coupon they sent to my inbox and also in the mail. Plus some free items with a purchase. They are ALWAYS sending stuff! I hope you can get some good deals for the birthdays.

What percentage off was it?
-
I need the iTunes card too. Will those be in electronics or are they on the kiosks with the others?

The Claw ( candy crane game)?
HansieDZ replied to ourhappyfamily4's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Glad you got one! I just saw this thread today, but was going to say I got one last year at either CVS or BB&B for less than $20. Don't forget to get a lot of cheap Halloween candy to put in the machine -
I asked my friend who is a sales rep for VB and she said there is a special BF tote (Baroque pattern) that is free with $50 purchase (I think it was $50) but wasn't sure if that was in the VB stores or not. It is a tote made just for BF and was to be sold in the other retail stores. If you like VB,make sure you sign up at the website as you get some good deals that way. Also,if you are close to a store, sign up for their Birthday Club and you get a $20 gift certificate to use during the month of your birth. I don't know if that is online or not. HTH!

That is so cool! I had the best time looking through the 1971 Sears Wishbook.I remember everything on those pages! Thanks for passing this along :) -
We're discussing this here http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?175573-What-are-the-HOT-toys-for-this-year Come on over! :)

THE Best Caramel Corn Recipe Courtesy of Mr. Food 12 cups popped popcorn (I use Orville Reddenbacher microwave, the butteriest you can find) 1 (12 oz) mixed nuts 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter (I use real butter for this) 1/4 c. honey 1 tsp vanilla extract Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine popcorn and nuts. In a small saucepan, bring the brown sugar, butter and honey to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and mix well. Pour over the popcorn mixture and stir until thoroughly coated. Spoon onto two ungreased (I used 2 rimmed cookies sheets lined with non-stick aluminum foil) and bake for one hour stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool until crispy. I give this to teachers each year and everyone goes crazy for it!

That was a fun thread last year, wasn't it? :) I kept thinking I was going to make at least one of them, but I saw the thread too late and ran out of time. Did you take pictures of yours? What all did you put in them? The neat thing about that idea was that you could use it anytime of the year. My goal this year is to do some painting on glass. I have the paints and glassware but don't have a clear idea of what exactly I want to paint but once I find it,I'll be ready!

This was on last year's thread and was very popular. I didn't make them but many did and reported how successful they were! Just passing this along for those who might have forgotten. 2 Liter Teacher Appreciation Gifts http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=4633525

That's a great idea (taking pictures)! If I am trying to match a specific color,I find something around the house (a crayon, paint swatch or anything small) that matches and carry that with me.
-
How about Magnetix? My 11 year old son enjoys those. Just make sure there aren't little ones around who could swallow the metal balls! K'Nex are also popular.

You're welcome :) Glad you all got some good deals. So did I!
