Okay so what kind of vehicle do you use on BF? If you go in a group do you all go together or separate cars? Do you have any stories about driving on BF for example, road rage, parking, traffic jams, accidents, etc... On BF its my mom, sister and I and we take two cars - a Honda Element (lots of room for goodies) and a Chryster 300. We've tried to just park in one lot and go together in a car until we're done but it seemed to be quite a chore to get back to the parked car through all the traffic so we end up driving both around. Since my parents live in the country and my sister and I are already at their place for Thanksgiving we leave from their house for BF. I always enjoy seeing all the cars driving by once we hit the highway at 2-3am knowing exactly where they are all going.

Thanks Bingy828 and LLBatronis, our BBW is inside our mall also so I guess I'll give them a call when it gets a bit closer!! I'm hoping they open after Target so we can get over there before they open and get a couple of the VIP bags!

When I stayed out last year at Kmart for the Wii I was there from 2-7 and I wore two shirts (t-shirt and long sleeve), Sweatshirt, Jacket, Long-John pants (actually they were my pj pants but could double as long-john), three socks (two thick, one thin), gloves, mittens, hat and Uggs. Pl.us I brought a chair and three blankets. On BF since we start at Walmart (inside 24hr) I just wear jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, running shoes. After Walmart we wait at Target (45min before they open), I've always waited at the inside entrance while my sis is always outside but with the excitment the cold is easy to stand in that short amount of time.

1. Australia 2. It's a Wonderful Life 3. Umm this one is hard but I think he was sent the lyrics but Gene Autry was the first to record it and it became one of the greatest hits in the music business... 4. Skirt 5. Dominque -
For me its gone by pretty quickly since I was first on here which was in August. 24 days in nothing compared to what it was 119 days....at least that's what I keep telling myself

This week later thing is also throwing me off as well, so basically we have to add about 5 days to a week more to the dates above so it fits with this year. But so far it hasn't been exactly (as in when certain ads dropped) so I'm hoping within this week to get another semi-good one. Hopefully next week some big ones, I'll even just take one...

What are some of your Black Friday traditions (besides shopping)?
zim05 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
LOL the bathroom part of this made me chuckle a bit because every time I go shopping with my mom she always has to hit up the bathroom! I told her that if she doesn't hold it until we are in line for check out we wouldn't be able to find each other until next BF!! -
I think I'm going to hold off until BF, I promised myself I would start saving up a bit more. That way a little part of me will have an excuse to get a bunch on BF!!
-
I've noticed at Target a lot of the time popular new releases tend to be on sale for the first couple days for $16.99, so hopefully Mamma Mia! will be too. My mom wants to see it so that would be a good one to get her!! I also really want to get Wanted, it comes out 12/2 which made me a bit mad, it just needed to be a week earlier and maybe I could have gotten it a bit cheaper for BF!! Oh well, there are plenty more to go for
-
Just an FYI Mamma Mia! comes out December 16th. I go to http://videoeta.com for DVD release dates.

Our Walmart hands out a map when you first walk in on where everything is. They are pretty strict about not being able to grab things before 5am which is nice. Walmart has been the first stop of ours since we've started BF (6yrs ago) and while a lot of the people who go there on BF are extremely rude - we don't really notice it much b/c we just grab and go. I like Target a heck of a lot better on BF cause people are not as rude and pushy but since Target opens an hour after Walmart we tend to start at Walmart.

You're probably right, I couldn't remember the exact amount! Thanks!

I think I saw the notebook last year under $8 at both Target and Walmart I believe.

I've never wanted/needed anything that was a big ticket item from BB that required me to be there on TG. We usually hit up BB after Walmart and Target but usually for DVDs and little things. I have noticed, as some have said, that the lines keep getting longer sooner and more brutal, but Walmart is the first stop for me so I know a little about ruthlessness

We put up one real tree that is in my parents' living room and a fake tree that is in their formal living room that has the presents under it.
-
I've never encountered selling tickets on BF (mostly because I don't camp out at BB) and basically when I've been lines with tickets there has never been a problem with it (Wii at K-mart on TG last year). I can see both sides of it to be truthful but I would never personally do it because (A) I'm not in that kind of finanical pickle to actually do that nor would I do that just to make a few bucks and ( I think if I ever got extra tickets for things I don't want I would just give the tickets to those behind me who waited just as long. And who knows maybe the nice gesture will be returned to me! And I think the main difference between selling tickets and reselling the things on ebay is that the person selling the ticket is doing it right in front of me whereas I don't know if the person in front of me is getting a bunch of things to resell or not. Also those people who resell things have been in line just as long as I have been so at least they've put in the time. Those who sell tickets to people just rolling into the store as its opening (obviously not sacrificing sleep or TG) would, to say the least, irk me a bit.

We put up 3 trees: Formal Tree - is in my parent's formal sitting room and has all the presents under it and its a fake tree that was in the house when my parents bought it (in the 80s) and it has all the special ornaments and the fragile ones Charlie Brown Tree - is in the living room and is a real tree that is only about 4.5feet tall and holds all the homemade ornaments or the non-breakable ones Tractor Tree - this is my dad's own personal tree (he's a farmer) that he decorates every year. Its in the regular sitting room and is only about 3 feet tall. It holds all his Case (red tractors) ornaments and tractor lights.

I know of some DVDs I personally want to be cheap. Some of mine include the following: Superbad, Indiana Jones KCS, Iron Man, Fred Claus (released 11/25), Get Smart, Hancock (11/25), The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (11/18), Tropic Thunder (11/18), Lars and the Real Girl, Leatherheads, What Happens in Vegas, Smart People, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, August Rush, Drillbit Taylor, Stop-loss, Jumper, P.S. I Love you, Charlie Wilson's War, No Country for Old Men, Sweeny Todd, Enchanted, Gone Baby Gone, Michael Clayton, Mr. Magoroum's Wonder Emporium, Rendition, No Reservations....just to name a few there are probably more but I can't think of them right now. Some TV series I'm looking for include: Pushing Daisies (s1), 30 Rock (s2), Prison Break (s2 & s3), Ugly Betty (s2) and Will & Grace (s8). I know that the tv seasons and some of the movies aren't going to be for $5 (especially those that just came out or will in Nov.) but I wouldn't mind seeing DVD (new releases) for $14 or less and the TV seasons for around $20. DVDs and TV seasons are one of the main things I go for on BF and hit up Walmart,Target and Best Buy for them.

The first Christmasy commerical I saw was for K-mart and their new layaway. The lady tells her husband that she is going Christmas shopping and the husband says its only halloween (or something like that). Then it talked about putting toys on layaway now and paying a bit off and get them in time for Christmas.
-
Our target is in the middle of moving all the Holloween stuff over and started putting up Christmas displays, I saw a whole cart of Christmas CDs just waiting for their usually sound display. I guess I have yet to notice the extra stock over the toys but will check it out next time.

Thanks Nikkilugi I guess I didn't read close enough above about Target! Maybe I'll try at Walmart this year since its our first stop but I'll have to wait until the ads to see if there is anything that is worth it!
