Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2009
luvbargainz replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
There was only one left at my closest Target at 30% and now it is gone. If you really want/need one, 30% off may be the best you can do - I had no luck last year, either. -

Forgot to add, school supplies were still full price here yesterday, even though school already started for most kids. -

Lots of clearance cosmetics marked 75% off, inlcuding Pixi, Napoleon Perdis, Sonia Kashuk, Almay, Maybelline, L'Oreal HIP, and Neutrogena. Some stuff that would make holiday gifts for tweens or teens, like makeup palettes and travel organizers. Some gas grills were 50% off, including a stainless steel Aussie grill with side burner. Lots of BBQ accesories were 50% off, unfortunately not the covers, which is what I need! Lots of Thomas O'Brien bedding and towels/rugs were 50% off, check aisles AND endcaps. Saw a ton of markdowns at 30% off throughout aisles and on endcaps that I will be keeping my eye on, including drapery panels, bath accessories, gardening items, candles, housewares, patio, and more. -
This was going on at two different ON's near me yesterday. The stuff was really picked over leftovers from summer; there was tons of it, but I couldn't find ANYTHING I wanted to buy in men's or women's. Which is too bad, 'cause I usually do pretty well during the extra 50% off sales. Although is it just me, or are they not marking items down all that much anymore? I used to buy stuff from clearance when it wasn't the extra 50% off, but nowadays it seems like you don't save a whole lot over regular retail.

The signs still said 50% off, of course that doesn't mean it wasn't 75%, but I didn't scan anything to find out. -

Sorry, been away... North Texas. Been finding a lot of really random clearance items lately ,so remember to check those endcaps, you never know what treasure you might find! -

Smith & Hawken was 75% off and included small pots, wreaths, fake plants, garden stepping stones, candles, etc. Fall decor is taking it's place. Of course the garden tool bag I was stalking was gone. Last season's "Home" brand home decor items were 75% off (the scheme was sort of beigey old-world traditional, with maps, globes, and wooden items; it has since changed to gray and purple modern). Tons of food items on clearance throughout the store, on endcaps and in the aisles, mostly 50% off here. Snagged some salsas that turned out to be "meh". Also lots of 75% off video games for all systems. -
Verified, at least here in N. Texas. Signs are posted in front windows and throughout the store. Somewhat slim pickings IMHO, at least in women's and men's.

Don't you hate that! I have seen people leave large items that they have paid for at Customer Service until they can pick them up, but I think they will only hold them until the end of the day, so it's risky if you don't have transportation (and in my opinion, risky in general). It probably wasn't meant to be! I am excited about my upcoming vacation, but sad because I will be missing the entire Toy/Baby clearance frenzy - I know, it is so wrong! I am consoling myself by looking forward to the big January clearance. -

Patio 75% off in N. Texas and mostly gone. Snagged one lonely folding chair. Still waiting for umbrellas to clearance, they are still full price here. Managed to score a lot of artificial plants 75% off (ranging from $2.48 - $12.48), including houseplants, orchids, ferns, and peonies. Nice looking with attractive pots. If you are hunting for them, some of them might be mixed in with the clearance Smith & Hawken stuff (which is 30-50% off right now) or on various endcaps throughout the store. Also found Dirt Devil Kruz broom vac for $12.48, seems to be relatively well-reviewed. My favorite score was a cute Sunny Patch pink and floral rake that was mistakenly marked 75% off the last markdown price instead of the regular price, so I got it for 62 cents. -
Went this morning shortly after early opening at 7. Hardly anyone there, fewer people than at the $3 graphic T sale. Tanks were neatly sorted onto tables by size and color so easy to grab what you wanted. There was a limit of 5 posted, but they didn't seem to care if you went through the line multiple times or split your haul into bunches of 5. Pretty boring, basic colors; some of the nicer colors had beading which I didn't care for, so I passed. The staff told me the aforementioned flip-flop sale was insane (somehow I missed even hearing about that one, not that I would have cared since Havaianas are soooo much worth the extra $$$) so they were overstaffed for the low turnout of this sale. Forgot to bring a coupon from oldnavyweekly.com, but not worth it to drive home and print one for such a tiny discount. All in all I was happy to get a few basics at a low price, and Old Navy seemed to be doing good business on other items as well, so I hope they keep it up.

Does this use filters? I have seen lots of small filters for 75% off but not the cleaner they are made for. If it uses filters you might want to make sure they will still be readily available or else stock up while they are cheap! -

Saw quite a few things at 75% off that might make good Mother's Day or Father's Day gifts: Black & Decker rechargeable saw/screwdriver/light kit; ratcheting hex wrench kit; car items; Smith & Hawken wreaths; a lot of video games, including Wii, PS2, PS3, PC, and Xbox. Also saw a lot of contraception/fertility stuff on sale -

Pet clearance went 75% off at many stores near me. Lots of items, including clothing, leash/collars, treats, grooming, cat scratchers, carriers, beds, and food for dogs, fish, ferrets and birds. A couple DFW-area stores had 75% off Newman's Own and Harmony Farms natural dog foods (dry and canned), if anyone is looking for a healthy alternative to Purina etc. at a cheap price (Dallas Montfort had a lot yesterday). Also they have added tons of video games to the clearance piles and many are 75% off (all platforms). -

Forgot to add, lots of women's clothing at 75% off. I saw jeans, khakis, dresses, tops, sweatshirts, blazers/jackets, raincoats, and some GO stuff. Wish their clothes fit me properly, I would have scored. -

Lots of pet stuff and furniture on clearance right now. Almost nothing in domestics, although I did manage to score a comforter set in a purple batik floral print at 75% off ($22.48). I'm pretty sure it was mismarked because it was dated 2009, also it rang up full price and the cashier had to adjust it to the sticker price (the DCPI code matched up so they didn't give me any problems). Also got some of the leftover Umbra stuff 75% off (a storage ottoman, a vase and a candelabra). I am going to try to insert a photo of the comforter set so bear with me: Eh, didn't work. Sorry! I bought several when they went 75% here and ended up returning all of them for that same reason. The micathermic/convection ones (Bionaire and Sunbeam make them) are supposed to be silent. The Bionaire is tall like the oil-filled heaters, but much lighter, and it also has wheels so you can move it around easily. It gets decent reviews. The Sunbeam is long and low to the ground like a mini baseboard heater. Unfortunately they were all sold out here by the time I took back the loud ones. -

Hahaha, I saw these too and thought about picking some up but they were only 30%. OT, but you can get pregnancy tests for a buck at Dollar Tree or Big Lots. They are not a name brand but I suspect they're all made in the same factory. -

In my experience that is normal. After the big seasonal clearances (Jan/Feb and Jul/Aug) they reset a lot of the departments with new products and you have to wait for the next big round (or for holiday clearances) to see lots of deals. Sometimes they reset a whole section, like pets, and you will see a lot of clearance there for a while. I still check back regularly because you never know when you might find some internet "As Is" returns or random clearance items. -

Here in TX it is county by county. Closest one carries beer/wine, one just across the county line does not (same with grocery stores). I will have to check for the 75% off wine, around here it seems to be gone at 50%. Got some heaters 75% off and was going to tuck them away for next year (85 degrees here today ) but thought I should try them out first. Good thing I did, the small Sunbeam fan one was SOOO LOUD, and a larger tower one had an annoying buzz sound. I looked for the silent/macathermic ones but they are long gone - so back the heaters went. A bargain isn't a bargain if you can't use it! -

So I found another pink Dyson at a local Super T, it was a floor model and it was only marked down to 339 (15% off). So chances are yours wasn't marked down as low as the one I found, since others have reported the same markdown price. Besides, I'm sure you got some great Dillards finds, I only found stuff for DH at Dillards, nothing for me or the home -

Being ther bargain hunter extroardinaire that I am, I scanned it, hoping it was going to come up 75% (yeah, dream on...) When I scanned it, the machine read "GIFT CARD AT REGISTER - $75" or something like that in big bold lettering. Of course my heart started pounding, like, NO WAY! Too good to be true? So I went to check out, ready to argue my case with the cashier, and as soon as she scanned the vacuum she reached in her drawer, scanned a gift card, and handed it to me, saying "this is for next time!" I asked her how much it was for and she said $75. I felt like I won the lottery. The gift card also came up on the receipt, with a blurb saying that to get a full refund, you had to return the gift card, or you would only get $125 back. Edited to say: Oops, quoted wrong, this is in reference to the pink Dyson I purchased for 50% off that I also received a $75 gift card for at the register.
