  1. wow tinkrbel, how do you get your link to be blue and NAMED the thing it is like FLOUR... :)
  2. what are on the boxes -I don't know because mine didn't have any I could find. I saw some that had 132 count and had pink daisies, also blue with yellow and orange flower or two, and a purply pink design...they were marked at 1.oo
  3. If you need something new (if kids have allergy issues, etc) I just saw today at Target, a $20.00 UNLIT tree 6 foot. It was pretty decent for 20.00 100 ct. of multi or clear minilights are only 2.69 at Lowes: http://www.lowes.com/pd_165142-84523-W11A0565_5003694__?productId=3488689&Ntt=christmas+lights&pl=1&curren I think 3 sets would be plenty So far the tree and lights = approx 30.00 depending on what your local sales tax is. . . Big Lots has tree skirts price 6-16 dolllars having trouble with the link --very pretty (I know Walmart had some inexpensive ones but now online no prices are listed... I'd budget 6 or 8 dollars for a skirt http://www.biglots.com/images/large/360027709.jpg Do you do garland? Beaded garland can be found for 1.oo at dollar tree stores, although the strands can be short, so many figure on 5 of those.../5.oo tinsel type garland was I believe 4.98 and 5.98 at Walmart (I went a few days ago, that is regular price, I can't give you a link because Walmart has no price listed online) probably try to make 3 stretch if using this= approx 18.oo ALso at Dollar tree: are some nice glitter snowflakes they are white and look nice on trees, lights on tree really show them up.. I think those were 4/1.oo so you could buy maybe 5 sets of 4 = 5.oo and plastic candy canes, red/white or red/green/white these look very good on a tree too (especially a more kid-geared tree) But I really can't recall how many you get for a dollar....I think it was 4..... again maybe 5 sets = 5.oo so If you do this my suggested way (which I would have loved if I were a kid: Tree/lights = 30.oo Skirt = 7.oo BEADgarland 5.oo Snowflakes 5.oo Candy canes 5.oo ----------------------------- so like 55.oo approx depending on taxes... then you could go to target and get some of the 1-2 $ ornaments they are very cute, they have some shiny type, mittens made of felt, some wooden looking type, also jingle bell type ornaments...you could budget 20.oo to spend there and you are still only at about 75.oo and it is all NEW stuff. There is also a recipe for homemade ornaments (I think it uses cinnamon, btw I got some last week walmart 50 cents Spice classic brand) the dough isn't too hard to work with. We made them and the ornaments have lasted over 10 years! You can paint the dough, we used sequins on some and painted a gloss finish on them! We stuck a paper clip thru them right away before they'd dry and that is the hook. This is something that could be done on thanksgiving break, keeps them busy awhile, then you let them dry and could hang them up before they go back to class on Mon. or Tuesday!
  4. My (one) target stinks.... no tissues! no legos gonna have husband hit another one on way home from work. I did get some laffy taffy candy 70 percent off, I took it, no chocolate candy of course... do workers have dibs on the stuff first? Just curious, seems my store is always always always wiped out before I get there.
  5. I got the BB deal this past weekend also. I didn't want to risk waiting for BF deal, and possibly not getting it due to the wacky store opening hours etc this year. I don't have good luck either, so I could end up losing money, but just don't want to chance it since this is the "big gift" this year.... also depending on what games they include, sometimes a big bundle can be not-so-worth it if the games are types your own child would not play...the BB deal suited my kids, time will tell...
  6. I have to say that the 2 targets I go to rarely have anything that the people post on these threads, so I have come to the conclusion that my stores are "duds" or that there must be a few gottadealers from my area that read this thread that I am not aware of that BEAT ME to the deals at my stores EVERY time, LOL, but today I am headed there for this tissue deal, because it is a BRAND name and I just can't beat that price with a stick, so I am headed there in the next 15 minutes!
  7. Do any of you disguise your gifts/wrap them in bigger boxes? I find I HAVE to do that because I can't bear to have such tiny little dvd boxes under the tree that look like nothing exciting and you can't even really appreciate some of the wrapping paper, depending on the pattern of it when the boxes are so small. . . I don't do every box, but I'll do several. I save some shoe boxes to put some video games or dvd's in to fool my curious boys...
  8. SUPER racerfan, thanks :) My kids will each get 2 games with the bundle (kinect adventures and the download carnival games), so I thought I'd get each boy one more. Hope Amazon keeps the video game deals coming.
  9. Normally I wrap as I get them BUT this year, there will be FEWER gifts because they'll be more costly, so I am thinking of trying to control myself and do them either all at once or on just TWO special days. I think on the average 5 minutes per item/ box. . . depends how weird shaped it is
  10. I hope so too (hope I am correct, I googled those because I wanted to know them all, LOL)
  11. Thanks racerfan for the list! Can you tell me out of the list is there one or 2 that your kids play over and over? Or one they hardly play?

Puzzler World -single player puzzle games designed to provide puzzle fans and fanatics over 500 hours of play time spread across over 1,000 addictive games 11:00 p.m. -Dead Rising?? but not sure ...

  17. Just a few things really..... I'd like my husband to take my 2 sons shopping to pick out a Coach bag for me, I've never had one & always wanted one & the kids have surprisingly good taste. would Love a simple pair of leverback earrings from my husband (that HE picks out and I don't have to hint about) do not need to be extravagant, nothing even more than 100.oo, I'd just be happy if HE liked them and chose them... dinner out with just husband around holidays (this never happens) and for DH to seriously clean out and organize the garage but I doubt any of these things will happen
  18. any guy gottadealers have any recommendations?
  19. that was funny, I had never seen it. She is going to be on Conan show tomorrow. Maybe she'll mention Target/BF. I think Kristen Wig and her need to get together and either do a real commercial or a skit on SNL, either would be very funny ...Kristen could be the crazy target CASHIER, who gets so distracted, and moves slow and this lady could be the frantic shopper who just wants to know where the tvs are in the ad on BF!
  20. in PA there are 46 F.y.e. stores....not sure about other places. I missed the coupon part too :)
  21. Ok I need help with advice on NINTEDO DS games, the child I am buying the gifts for likes the type of games where you use microphone to make characters/things happen in the game--and for all I know they could all do that, but besides the Dora Puppy one that I know for sure does this, can anyone recommend some fun games where you "talk to" the DS ? Please help...
  22. What about f.y.e. ? they are known for good deals, but I don't know about shipping as I have only been in their store once or twice and haven't ordered online. I think it is the week after thanksgiving, but I could be wrong, Amazon puts MANY DVD's on sale different hours, for several days in a row, huge variety... box sets, many genre.
  23. Thanks, I really listen to your opinion (i see your posts and you like stuff I like alot ) But what system do you have it in? Xbox or wii ? Does it seem to matter? I always hear people talk and say, this game is better in this system, that game is better in that system... Never sure what to get. Thanks
  24. I've read some reviews (thinking of it for a gift for a relative) regarding the PAD type items and I'd say go with the Leap PAD, because it seems the vtech one (name escapes me now, but it is 79.99 everywhere) is not nearly as good. I believe reviews I read said that the LeapPad should offer MORE variety though. I saw the IXL demonstrated on QVC and it seemed ok--looked sturdy, but wasn't impressed with screen/graphic/look of it and screen seemed small but I don't actual size. For my kids, we had leapster 1 and 2 which they played a great deal. . My kids are past these types of toys now, but if I were you I'd wait, I think they'll be improving the PAD type system so I wouldn't buy it this year, but just my opinon.
