  1. Walmart was enough for me... went for the digital camera, got it and went home. I wasnt feeling well either, so i was done.
  2. oh my gosh, my dh has been wanting a hdtv for a long time now... wondering if this is for real and if so, if its a good tv?
  3. I agree with Supermommy, the baby einstein videos are great! I bought my daughter her first one at age 4 months and she is now almost 3 and still loves them! I would recommend Baby Mozart as a first one.
  4. anyone know how i can give NETFLIX as a gift? I wouldnt give it until like february since my SIL is not in her home in Alaska since her dh is deployed. She is in the states visiting and wont be back until beginning of february. They dont have TV service or anything, according to her, its too expensive out there, they just watch DVDs, so i know this is right up her alley!
  5. the less fortunate? I usually get a boy and a girl "angel tag" from the tree they have at my local walmart and buy them whats on their list. I seen a post on here earlier about helping a deployed soldier and thats a great idea. My BIL is deployed right now, so i send to him, but i wouldnt mind doing it for another one. what made me think of this was the other night there was a paper grocery bag left on my front porch with a note from the Local cub scouts asking for nonperishable food items to help local familes in need. Anyone else get involved?
  6. thats an awesome deal! my dd had one that someone gave her and it broke last summer, so i am looking to replace it.
  7. my daughter is almost 3 (11/28), so i dont have to worry too much about whats on her christmas list, but I am preparing myself for the future, lol. Those of you who have older kids, do you limit the number of things they put on there or let them make a list and buy a few things from it. what we do is buy 1 "big ticket item", and about 3-5 other things. since her bday is within a month of christmas, I feel like i dont have to buy her as much, I guess. This year she is into Dora, so i should have an easy time of it. Wondering how everyone else handles their kids "I wants". Or, if you dont have kids, how about any neices/nephews/godchildren? I buy 2 outfits and 2 toys for my 2 neices and 1 nephew.
  8. so this is a BF deal? I just talked to my sister and she wants stuff from Victoria's secret! this would be awesome if i got this deal!
  9. I usually just go to walmart and buy the walmart brand. 3 rolls for 1.50.
  10. thats awesome! the kmart by my inlaws is only a mile away! LOVE all the movies on sale!
  11. My dh works for the Lafarge corporation(cement producer, HQ out of france) and they are a good company. Usually each boss gives whoever works for him a GC to someplace. the first year it was Outback, the next year it was babies r us(our daughter was just born), Blockbuster was the next year, and last year it was Circuit City. They are usually about 50 bucks each. They also have a xmas party. Its really nice and you have to dress up for it. they also do professional pictures. You get a ticket when you enter the door and they draw prizes all night long. 50 bucks to this and that restaurant, 100 bucks to a local golf club, cash, them are some os the usual things. Now that we have moved to the Lafarge plant here in Alabama, I am not sure on how they are going to do it. My dh said they are going to have a "christmas luncheon" for the workers only, during work hours and have a restaurant cater in.... which sucks cuz i liked going to the xmas parties. as far as a bonus, there is none for christmas. they usually get one in april. :)
  12. mine is what we always have for thanksgiving, turkey! in fact, i tend to want a huge turkey sandwich the day after.... I am already craving one, lol.
  13. my dh is a HUGE garth fan and even asked me the other day if i heard there was a box set coming out for xmas, so i think he is hinting he wants it but i think he has most of the cd's already in there.
  14. I know that this ad only is good for a certain group(my SIL will LOVE this ad, her dh is in the army and is deployed right now) and most of us cant use it, but at least we get some satisfaction of seeing a new ad! wonder how long til we start getting antsy for the next one???? lol:D
  15. Well, we just moved to Alabama and I dont think they get much, if any, snow at all, so might not be a white xmas here. Now back in missouri where we just moved from, we had snow all 5 years we were there, which I love. my bday is on xmas eve and its just not the same without snow. Before living in Missouri we lived in Northern michigan, where we are ORIGINALLY from, lol. Now talk about snow!!! LOVED it... i really do miss it. we would go snowmobiling, ice fishing, sledding. another bonus of this kind of weather... it teaches you how to drive in crappy weather.
  16. I have seen the kind of basket you are looking for... wicker lined with pink(this one was pink gingham). I have seen them at Home Goods and Ross. Dont know if you have any of them around, but worth trying. Also, do you have a babies r us near you? they have storage containers there in blue and pink. I think the big one ran about 12-15 bucks. good luck on finding something!
  17. The presents that are from Santa, I wrap in "santa paper".... wrapping paper that strictly has a santa theme... like all santa faces or something close to it. and presents from dh and I are wrapped in something else. This year, since she is so into dora, I have bought dora wrapping paper.
  18. my daughter is almost 3(11/28) and she is very much into dora. she will be getting mostly dora things for xmas. maybe a bike with training wheels, if she doesnt have that already??
  19. i think its a tie between my dh and his dad... they are the hardest people to buy for, i go nuts trying to think of something for them. all my dh tells me is "new socks and underwear".... i can buy them anytime, give me something interesting! the easiest is my 3yo dd, she is amused with anything that has: 1) wrapped in any kind of paper and 2) is DORA related, lol.
  20. basically what i was thinking too... why not post your ad and get consumers all fired up about your sales? seems kinda corny to me to pull them, but at least we got to see it!
  21. or maybe a beer? even though its a bird, maybe it will become drunk and say something, lol.
  22. My 3 year old wants ANYTHING to do with Dora... the Vamanos Van, clothes, bis sister dora... you name it, it has to be dora, lol. though should make for an easy xmas.
  23. Our tree is usually all the ornaments we have collected over the years. I add new ones every year. I even have a special box of ornaments that are for my daughter, she gets a new ornament every yeaer also. This year, my MIL bought her her own disney princess xmas tree, so she will be able to put her ornaments on her own tree, but I KNOW i will have to go looking for some Dora ones, lol. I do make sure we have tons of lights on the tree.
