tyreejames replied to Brad's topic in 2014
For the young gamer; this is on my DS7's list http://m.ebay.com/itm/201206592077?nav=SEARCH -
I just got coupons in the mail and one covers Black Friday so that's an additional savings; its for $10 off a $30 purchase. One is good until the 26th and the other one starts on the 27th.

I got in on Walmart's one day deal for the nintendo 2ds at $79. That's the 1st gift that I've purchased for DD4.
-
If you have or know someone with a Sam's Club membership try checking there. My local club has the classic tall for $149; it was very tempting but I have enough pairs and DD11 hasn't asked for a new pair. HTH Also I would just randomly check 6pm.com as there stock is constantly changing. Last year I scored the mini Bailey buttons for $80 from their site.

I handle the cooking for my family; it's usually the 6 of us, my mom, and 1 of my brother-in-laws. We will be having: Maple glazed ham Party wings Baked macaroni and cheese Candied yams Stuffing Spanish style rice & beans (purchased from a local restaurant) Rolls Cranberry sauce Banana pudding Sweet potato pie And last but not least: egg nog!!!

I usually get handed these types of ads when I go into Sam's on the weekend. I'm pretty sure they'll be handing them out this weekend and probably sending an email as well.

Answer 3 Questions & Win Black Friday T-Shirts [Winners Posted]

1. Target 2. Both 3. Thanksgiving 4pm -
Not sure if that will be the best bundle but if your son is an Assassin's Creed fan then it's a pretty decent deal. There will be multiple bundles with various games between now and Christmas. The biggest question should be will the recipient play the game. I also think that is a kinect free bundle so if your DS wanted the kinect you would have to purchase that as well. I know many say they don't use the kinect that often but I hear DS18 prompting his all the time (Xbox on, Xbox Netflix, etc...)

Correct, it does not close.

The 2ds plays 3ds games the issue is she's too young for the 3d setting. Even now when she plays her siblings the 3d is turned off. So I would be spending $ for a setting that I wouldn't allow her to use probably for another 3 or so years. I expect that she will have moved to another system by then.

I just selected my state and it only pulled up certain stores so I'm guessing those are the select stores. For example, there are 3 Best Buys all within 5-15 miles from me but only one is listed.
-
DS7 just added Skylanders Trap Team to his list; hoping I can get it for $40 or less. I got swap force for $37 last year. I'm also going back and forth between a 3ds or 2ds for DD4. The games she likes don't use the 3D aspect that much but she plays the older 2's systems so she can work it. Just read that Walmart will have the 2ds for $79 next week I believe...

Best Buy also had the Fire HD for $99 on BF last year; it could be purchased earlier in the week if you were Elite or Elite Plus.
-
I would look into the kids edition of the Kindle Fire. It's $149 and comes with a rubber bumper case as well as a 2 year warranty. DS7 has the kindle fire HD can use it for gaming, watching tv, reading books, and he has some learning apps on it. I've gotten more than my money's worth

Most stores will issue a store credit or cash if purchased via PayPal. The beauty of PayPal is the store never gets your credit card info therefore they don't have a card to return it to you. Now having said that, if you return to a Target store they will issue a cash refund.

I plan on putting the tree and inside decor up the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Outside lights will hopefully go up within the next 2 weeks or so.

I've been looking for something for our bedroom since the family room and basement both have smart tv's. Wasn't thrilled with the Chromecast and the mirroring aspect but for $19 I will try this. Just ordered one

Do you and your spouse agree on gifts for your kids?
tyreejames replied to shopping4my3son's topic in 2014
DH picks out a few items but I handle 95% of the shopping; I just tell him how much $ I need. I always joke with him that he's often just as surprised as the kids are on Christmas morning. -
Generally video game consoles is where I run into the full price at particularly bc my boys are both gamers. Last year I did not want to take any chances on the Xbox one so I pre-ordered at the end of the summer and had it a day after it was released. I was able to get some games on sale though so that helped. This year my daughter is asking for a certain pair of Dr. Martens so I may have to suck it up on those as well.

Here's a few ideas that we enjoy: 1. Go see a holiday themed show like The Nutcracker 2. Go ice skating 3. Do a night where you drive around and look at decorations 4. Family holiday movie night ( you can make cocoa, cookies, etc for this) 5. Family game night Hope that helps!

Gotta love the early sale for Best Buy; I believe last year all of my items from there were ordered by Tuesday and I even made Elite Plus this year!!
-
I will continue to use credit online and since my actual store shopping is very little I take the cash that I expect to spend. Last year I probably took around $200 out and expect this year to be around the same give or take. I think I've shopped at just about every store that's had a breach in the last year or so (Target, Home Depot, Staples). I will simply continue to monitor my accounts as I do now.

Target announces holiday plans including free shipping on all Target.com orders
tyreejames replied to Brad's topic in 2014
Target is still trying to recover from last year's fiasco. I'm a red card holder so get free shipping year round but I can see how this would entice those who normally wouldn't shop Target online. -
My best friend and I used to meet up in line @ TRU and then go our separate ways. Now our first store doesn't always sync up so we keep up with each other via texting. Now I just head out alone.
