What if you did a movie basket theme for each family? My daughter did this for her cousins. Microwave popcorn bucket, couple 20 oz sodas, couple boxes "show" type candy and a gift card for Blockbuster. She put some shredded paper in the popcorn bucket, added the other items and it turned out really cute. She got the popcorn, candy and shredded paper at Dollar Spot. All together with the $10 gift card she spent about $17 on each gift but they look like so much more and fun on top of that.

ipod shuffles for the two older ones, itune gift cards, skin for ipods, gift card to movies, dvds, cds clothes & accessories for AG dolls for 6 yr old pedal car, wagon, sleeping bag/tent, crawl through tunnel for 3 yr old How about snuggies? Seems like all the kids in our family want one.

I don't know if they have them in-store but I bought my mom and step dad a pair online from Kohls.

I was able to find the bat & ball toy, Spuds and a Mr Potato Head last night and use my coupons.

Everything has been checked off my list but if I am out I find one more gift to buy. This is why I try to stay out of the stores. It doesn't do me any good to make a list and shop early if I don't stop. Are you still shopping even if you are "really" done?

We always tell the kids to ask for whatever they want and then Santa will surprise them with what he "knows" they really want most of all. If there is something they mention many times as the weeks go by I make sure it is under the tree. I think they see things on tv or hear other kids talk and that changes their mind but they always go back to the things they really want.

If it is not wrapped in Halloween paper who would know? I think if it is candy your kids enjoy go for it.

Can you ship the gifts to your destination and they would be there for Christmas morning?

My Mom only fills the grandchild who are under high school age stockings but she still hangs all of our stocking each year. The only ones that have been removed are my Dad and brother who both passed away. New ones are added for new spouses and grandchildren as they join the family. It is quite dramatic to see all the stockings hanging on and around the mantle.

We grew up doing stocking Christmas Eve. I never heard of St Nick filling stockings until my brother met my sil. Her kids did St Nick at their house and Grandparents filled stocking at their house for Christmas day. Here is another question. Do you kids get stockings at home and at the grandparents? Since we have grown up and had kids my parents kept filling our stockings and added the grandkids as they came along. Now my Mom just fills the grandkids stockings if they are in high school or younger. I fill stockings for my daughter, son in law and both grandkids. I just couldn't give up filling a stocking for my daughter so just added the others in.

Just passed the Vogel Rd Target - no line, no one in the parking lot, either.

I wrapped my nephews (19 yr old) bday gift last night. I asked my local Chinese restaurant for an empty take out box. With my dinner I received chopsticks, fortune cookies and a 2010 calendar. I am putting part of the money/bills in the bottom of the box, covering it with shredded newspaper, placing the cookies on top of that. Another part of the money will go in with one of the cookies then I will tape the pkg shut, another bill will go in the tube with the chop sticks and finally bills will fall out of the calendar when he unrolls it. Total amount of gift $25, total cost of "gift wrap" zero.

I always told my dd and now my dgd to write down everything she wants and Santa will pick what he thinks they should have. Worked, they make a list and receive a reasonable amount of gifts. I have never heard either of them say there was something they really wanted and didn't receive. Thank goodness, their list and what they receive are no where near the list posted above.
